- I picked up a Beretta 3032 Tomcat FDE in .32 ACP. Here's how things are going!
I cover the merits of a pistol this size, as well as some discussion on the .32 ACP cartridge and whether or not it's sufficient for personal protection, etc. Is .32 ACP enough for self defense?
The Beretta Tomcat firmly cements itself as a contender in the pocket pistol category, in my opinion, and indeed, may be the BEST pocket pistol.
I also address the slide cracking issues that plagued some 3032 Tomcats as well!

Just realized comments were turned off initially- thanks to a good friend letting me know. I'm not sure why that setting was in that mode.
Comments getting g turned off is more and more common. Happened to me.
Dude I have no idea why that's happening. I ALWAYS want comments on lol
I love how these fit in the hand. Surprisingly easy to hold for such a small gun. I plan to get one for the same reason.
I have an irrational love affair with all tip up beretta models
They are really neat. I thought this one would scratch the itch for me...it has...BUT it's made me want a few others now too lol
Well done I have looked at them several times and may well find one for me soon.
Definitely a niche pistol for me, but for that niche- it beats every other option I've tried. Using it a good bit here in NOLA this week lol
Great review, thank you!!! I was actually looking at getting one of these but recently saw a review from Sootch00 with a new/upgraded version which is a Tomcat 30X where they moved the cylinder release to be where the majority of them normally located on other pistols and the upgraded version magazine capacity is now 8 + 1 in the barrel for 9 total. I just can't find anyone that has this new version for sale yet so I'm waiting to see what the price may be before I make the decision. I saw a video from Lucky Gunner about the 32acp ammo and they said that sometimes the way 32acp is loaded in the magazine the one on top can lock in with the one underneath it and can cause failure to feed but more likely with hollow points than with round nose FMJ ammo.
I like the Beretta 32... the lack of an extractor would worry me, though. 😬 "Failure to extract" malfunctions in the Tomcat are PITA to clear. Walter is selling the PPK in 32 acp again.
Apparently it’s too bad the no one was around to tell John Browning that he didn’t know what he was doing when he created the .32. Would have saved all those militaries and police around the world from using it successfully for a hundred years. Obviously slow learners.
I was a medical officer and served in combat for 3 years. I never saw anyone feeling good after having a hole or two in them.
