As a christian I feel bad for both Palestinians and Israelis so many innocent lives lost on both sides I truly hope they can find peace with each other. War is a horrible thing and it only cause death and destruction. Today, my school had two Israeli brothers come and talk as survivors of the Hamas’ attack on October 7th… those men lost so many of their friends and their other brother is currently one of the hostages taken by the Hamas. One of the brother’s poor daughter had to spend her birthday locked in a room, frightened and confused by the sudden attack. It’s truly heartbreaking that some universities are having posters of the hostages being ripped apart out of pure hatred. Those innocent civilians have done nothing to deserve this, yet some insist on hating an entire group of people by association. No matter what side you’re on, I hope you can agree that the innocent do not deserve to be hated and slaughtered helplessly. I pray for every innocent being who has been harmed in this war (on both sides), and I can only pray for peace among nations in the near future.
I bet there were no Palestinian brothers who came to give a talk as the Israel's genocide survivors, because no survivors left on the land of Palestine.

But I’m doubtful that any schools would allow Palestinians to speak on being survivors of Israel’s decades of oppression on their people as well as the current bombing campaign in Gaza. Then again the likelihood of ppl of Gaza surviving Israel’s bombs is slim to none considering that there are no bomb shelters in Gaza, they can’t even take refuge in hospitals or churches bc Israel will bomb that too and tell the media that Hamas was there. Babies are dying in Gaza en mass and Israel is refusing to allow any aid to get to them.For decades in Israel, Palestinians have been treated like subhuman yet the media rarely cares. Ppl say it’s insensitive to protest israel immediately after the oct 7. But ppl are sick and tired of the media ignoring the oppression and murder of the Palestinians and the victimization of Israel.

I'm attending Uni in South Africa. Here unilaterally everyone supports Palestine because all Africans are against Apartheid especially seeing how modern South Africa and it's citizens and society are trying to recover from this. Many can't seem to understand the difference between civilians killed due to collateral damage and soldiers going down the street and door-to-door to houses and shelters to gun down as many people that are of a specific ethnic background as possible, and then stealing their corpse to parade and desecrate.
Intent still matters; both result in death, but one is unintentional (or at least they can claim it was) while the other is unarguably systematic murder.

Why is it that some people wherever they are in the world are always contentious, confrontational and an intolerant group who think it's their way or they come for you? Until you learn to decently be tolerant to opposing ideas, religious beliefs or philosophies in a respectful way, it doesn't matter whether you are in Havard or not, or where you come from, you will always be a distress to your neighbor. The way each group protests, The posters- everything about this dynamic tells you all you need to know.
I think it's a good thing that young people have kept abreast of world events and are not too disengaged or self-involved to be aware of the real world dangers. As difficult as dialogue on these issues may be, peace is always a worthy goal and mutual understanding goes a long way toward achieving that end.

This feels like when dogs meet in the park and just bark at each other as they pass by for no reason.
At this point, this is not just between Palestine and Israel. Each side represents something and whichever side you're on, it reflects your values and how you see the world, humanity and everything in it. We're in the stage where we have to raise our state of awareness so we can't be manipulated on what to believe in. I'm sure we all have our reasons why we side with one and not the other. I think this is just start and more chaos will come.

Israel has been pushing Palestinians into smaller spaces and violating all previous agreements. They have been encroaching on Palestinian land for decades. Go and look at the map of that place from 1980 and look at it now. See how much land belongs to the Palestinians then and now and tell me who is terrorizing who?
First of all , I see many people siding with both sides and showing empathy with them ..This is how world must react BUT there is a clear fact that you won't find any Muslim showing empathy towards the innocent jews ..many of my friends are Muslim .none absolutely none of them have any empathy towards the jews .There is one girl that can't even think of harming people , and is compassionate person but when It comes to jews and Israel I can no empathy ..The fact of matter is most Muslims were happy that Hamas attacked jews..The ones that were not happy , it's not like they had empathy but they knew Israel will hit back stronger than ever. First, it's okay for students on both sides to express their opinion, but they should do so in a peaceful manner. Second, whichever side you are on, you must condemn attacks on innocent people, whether perpetrated by Hamas or Israeli army. Third, one should not look at the current turmoil in isolation . It's a new chapter in a bloody and horrible story that can only end when injustice ends. Israel must vacate the occupied land and stop treating Palestinians like second class citizens if it wants durable peace in the region.

I live in a country called Sri Lanka. We have people with different beliefs live here namely, Buddhists, Catholics, Muslims and Hindus.
But what Islamic mosques do? It is a widely known fact that the Islamic preachers do teach the younger generation of Muslims only about the importance in prioritizing the people with their similar beliefs. According to them, a person with a different belief is not worth prioritizing. It is a brainwashing method for someone’s advantage maybe, but I don’t know who. I believe that teaching leads to ultimate separation and possible future wars. The younger generation of Muslims have become very serious about that and they have no idea about respecting other religions. They are extremely brain-washed I see. Sadly, the majority of the people around the world identify the muslims as violence. If they don't work to clear that from then, who will do that for them?
This fear of future threats caused by the teachings of Islamic mosques are driving other nationalities to declare wars against them. We have witnessed many wars like that against Muslims. That is why I said, WE CANNOT BLAME ONE PARTY on war situations.
I have a suggestion; the whole world should step forward and implement a monitoring method for all the religious centers (despite of the belief) around the world to monitor what they teach the followers. Via that, the world will identify who's spreading the racism.
