UPDATE: RAI just announced that the result that was shown on screen was "incomplete"
Yeah, I don't believe them. Rai is now basically controlled by the right-wing governement that is very pro-Israel. They censored people against the government and many journalists/tv people working in Rai moved to other broadcasters because of this. I don't believe for a second that's actually a "mistake" and that it was "incomplete". I think they wanted to show Italy supports Israel. If I'm wrong I'm happy but I don't want to buy their lies
What do they mean by incomplete?. If so, it just makes the whole thing even worse.
Hahahaha 😂😂😂 WTF could "incomplete" mean in this context?! This is the worst excuse they could have come up with
The way they showed it... Like the host was saying here are the results right? It isn't like a random leak from someone making a picture or something. It seems deliverate but now they are excusing themselves cause they broke the rules, so what can they say? I dont know... It adds up to 100% and it seems real...
Why are my comments deleted? Is it the YT algorithm or is it forbidden to mention a certain country?
Latvia qualifying was a dream coming true. My votes worked
It was a bad song with cringe performance
The song is good but nothing special, however the singer’s performance was excellent. You really felt like the performer was completely there emotionally.
I was also very happy because of Latvia! 🇳🇱❤️🇱🇻
Me too! I'm so happy Dons will get to face the jury, he really deserves it. When the full results come out and I see Latvia qualifying in part due to televoting from the Netherlands, I'll know those couple of bucks were well spent!
@@amiramaz Sorry for you if you don't like Latvian song. But I will support Dons forever. The 5.94 € I spent yesterday were the ones I'm so glad to have spent.
I'm so, so excited that Latvia finally made it to the final ❤ Last year I was so impressed by Sudden Lights that I went to Riga to see them live in concert. Since then Latvia has a special place in my heart and I couldn't be happier for them qualifying this year 😊
I'm secretly happy Latvia made it through. I'm surprised so many people are surprised with the results for Malta.
I think this year is the best in the last 20 years in the history of Eurovision. As a Ukrainian, of course, I support our girls. But at the same time, I adore the performances of Croatia, Ireland, Lithuania, Italy and Greece - each of the songs has its own vibe, unsurpassed performance and charismatic performer))) It is impossible to choose one favorite - just an epic year!!!!
If only Israel wasn't there 😒
@@ristoravela652 ther is Israel and u all watch her on saturday🎉🎉🎉🎉😂😂😂😂😂
Ukraine slay as usual, bravo Ukraine ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️💪💪💪
One thing I once again noticed during the semis is that some countries really rely heavily on those prerecorded backing vocals. I mean Austria especially had almost the entire song backed by prerecorded vocals while you could barely hear her live vocals making the performance pretty much into a pure dancing show.
I think EBU really needs to take measures to prevent countries from overusing backing vocals. It’s still a song competition and not one about who can perform the best to playback music
Forbid pre-recorded backing vocals completely, no exceptions. It's ruining the ESC.
@@kpsk8031 CONCORDO in pieno su tutto!!!❣
@@kpsk8031 totally agreed
Same Netherlands, Georgia, Denmark and also nemo’s vocals ( who clearly sings very well) sounded backed.
Yeah, it seemed most of the singing in Europapa was Joost telling the audience to sing along rather than sing himself
I didn't think I'd vote for Latvia. His performance was so genuine and emotional though, while also vocally rock solid, that it got me to vote for him. Apparently there were more people who felt that way ❤
He was simply amazing and deserved to qualify
Omg, me too! ❤ I was so moved, I had to 😂 glad he’s through!
Same here! He was so authentic😢
Honestly, Marina should just wear a mic. There's too much for her to remember and you can tell she sometimes was rushing to put the mic back to her face and sometimes it wasn't there when she was singing. It was kind of messy...
I actually hope she will wear a mic in the final
But i disagree it was messy, it was energetic
. Nemo performance and concept was energetic but he wore a mic and that was much better
Slimane impressed me more than I ever expected. The staging is everything. Love the interactions with the camera!!
And the power on that man's voice is out of this World.
I think France will be jury winner
Latvia 🇱🇻 and Georgia 🇬🇪 have become Eurovision twins, they either qualify together or NQ together ever since 2014
I really enjoyed the interval act, especially the Moomins!
😂😂😂 your humor, shade and burn in this review haven't gone unnoticed 😉
the botox doctor comment🤣😭😭
Latvia qualifying was WAY more shocking than Belgium non qualifying. Belgium's fate was on the rocks and I thought if they were out it would be Malta or Denmark in its place. Very happy Latvia (and Georgia) broke its NQ streak but damn.
i agree on italy, she should be more free to move around, enjoy the stage, more like sanremo or the pre parties
If that happened many would have started saying "oooh she is alone on that big stage it's sad ugh". The only thing that matters should be the artist and the song. Coreography should be secondary. But that's my pov since Sanremo is based on that.
@@Lordtriplap She was amazing with spontanity in Sanremo.
@@melisaln.1119 absolutely but the song is the main point
for me the camera work is really bad on this song. Swedish perfection is not that perfect
@@daisyduke5979 that's for sure

DID YOU HEAR ABOUT THE REHEARSAL MESSUP!? Yoost didn’t show up when he was supposed to preform but he was in the flag parade.
They’re also calling it “an incident that was reported to us involving the Dutch artist.” Which makes it sound like he did something bad.
I wonder if he doesn’t want to be competing so close to Israel
If that's true I'll be really disappointed. Sounds like a tantrum. Has he never heard that _the show must go on_ ? If he has a problem with israel just ignore them like an adult and act professional.
@@JustYetAnotherUser the last part is just a rumour but if it is true I totally agree with you
Apperantly, that was someone from the Israeli delegation made fun of his dead parents in responds to his remark towards israel in the press conference and he allegedly punched them.
@@Copyrightbreaker22 That's just one of the rumors. Some people talk about the israeli delegation, others are talking about an altercation with a swedish photographer. Nothing's been confirmed.
FUNNY because his dad left him a message that world has NO borders right?? Hating one country automatically tarnishes his message right
Yes, I loved that Swedes love Eurovision act :) not quite Love, love, peace, peace, but it's in the same vein 🙂
Congratulations with your 10K subscribers!
Malta deserved it more than Austria imo. Malta really suffered from the recap (why did they chose this?), the semi they were in, the running order and Austria and Georgia being so hyped. Kaleen's vocals were awful whereas Sarah's vocals were on point.
I agree with you so much! Kaleen's vocals were very weak and the song is just awful...
I agree,Malta deserved to pass
i think Malta was better vocally and dance-wise. I think Kaleen's choreo made it look too much like she was posing for a camera
Slimane : hand-graphie : he speaks to his mon amour ( us) , touch his mon amour ( us), lay beside his mon mour (us) , - nice idea
Hey, bit of feedback.. you should mention the country whenever you start talking about a song... i imagine many people prefer to just listen to the video, like me and there are segments in your video where it's very hard to tell what song you are talking bout, like Greece e.g, thx for the video I like your takes on all :)
Oh sorry ;) i got carried away
I think this is my most favourite Semi Final ever! 🇳🇱❤️🇱🇻🇬🇪🇳🇴🇪🇪🇨🇭🇬🇷🇦🇲🇦🇹
I see what you did there. Leaving THAT country out. Good for you.
I got so confused with the Italian staging. It was soo busy and saturated that I didn't know where to look at. She literally blended with the staging, and not in a good way. A shame, really. Her performance in Sanremo was so much more spontaneous and genuine. Norway and Switzerland, on the other hand, absolutely nailed it. Norway is the biggest surprise for me, I hope it makes it to the top 5 :)
Switzerland is okay but Norway really impressed. It previously had been in my very bottom pile.
@@meropale this was my first time seeing and listening to the Swiss song and it left a great impression, the amount of skill displayed on screen was through the roof! Great great song as well some sort of opera drum'n'bass mix it was great
@@ABit2Hot I've listened to the Swiss entry a few time and it's good but falls way towards the bottom for me. It hasn't grown on me significantly.
@@ABit2Hot I agree! It was a "love at first listen" to me when it came out and two months later, I'm still in love with it! The staging was impressive, I felt like my heart stopped beating for a moment😅
Nemo out of this world! My jaw was hanging for the whole performance.
Im glad Im not on the jury as I would have a massive problem on who I give the 12 points to . Im stuck between France and Croatia . I have to vote for both tomorrow night .
This year has not been as joyous as previous. It is such a shame. There are amazzzing artists competing this year but politics and possibly propaganda are getting involved. I hope tmrw goes well and that we get a fair result ❤
I actually liked the Italian staging BUT I just find it way more impressive that she can/could command a huge stage like that just as she is without all these bells and whistles. I see that many acts really need the leds and the lights to come alive, so I just find it mega unnecessary to have so much going on when the performer can be as captivating as she is.
[Long comment ahead]
I'm so so happy for Dons! That emotional moment really got me, maybe that was also what helped him qualify. I'm really sad for Mustii and everyone else who didn't qualify, though.
- Malta was really nice, Sarah's vocals positively surprised me during this performance (they were really great!) and the dance and stunts were amazing!
- Albania: I really loved Besa's outfit, it was so beautiful. I really like the song as well and she has a great voice!
- Greece: I really loved the beginning of the staging with the live stream format and in general this was really fun and energetic. Marina's song Zari definitely grew on me a lot.
- Switzerland: Well, what can I say? My favourite of course. I think I stopped breathing through this performance, I was really blown away by Nemo's talent and energy. I was worried about the staging at first but it turned out so much better than I expected, just wow!
- Czechia: Aiko improved sooo much and the song is amazing and with a great message! I really enjoyed her performance.
- Austria: I'm so happy Kaleen made it! I would like to think my votes helped haha. But yeah, even though the vocals aren't always 100%, I love the song and the performance and I'm really happy she made it!!
- Denmark: The staging was quite impressive and the addition of the sand was something special. It wasn't too much sand for me and I genuinely enjoyed the performance but can also see why it didn't qualify.
- Armenia: Jako is such a fun song, I really love the traditional elements of it and so far I haven't gotten sick of it repeating itself at all. The vocals and instruments are amazing as well!
- Latvia: Beautiful song and beautiful voice. Like most people, I didn't expect Dons to qualify but it's very, very deserved. The song definitely touches me emotionally.
- San Marino: The aesthetics of the staging were sooooo amazing (black and pink are my favourite colours) and the energy was great as well as the song itself! It would've been so cool if they made it.
- Georgia: What a powerful song and vocal performance! It was among the first that stood out to me when I started getting more accustomed to all 37 songs and it deserves its place in the final. I really loved it!
- Belgium: Like you said..maybe Mustii wanted too much. I could also hear some parts that sounded off-key to me but overall the performance was still really impressive and I think he did great nonetheless.
- Estonia: It is a very catchy song not gonna lie! They are really putting a great performance out there and I can understand why people are enjoying it! I also warmed up to it and find it fun to listen to.
- Israel: I have to say I really love the song and Eden's voice as well. Her vocal tone gives me shivers every time I hear her. I can understand why she qualified and if we only look at the song and her voice, it's deserved in my opinion. Still a very controversial entry as we all know.
- Norway: This is just such an experience to listen to. I really love the song and the performance was epic in my opinion, definitely not too much for me. Really happy they made it but I also wasn't worried about them.
- Netherlands: This song gives me major whiplash. The performance in and of itself is really fun and you're jamming out to it but then you're getting hit by the emotional parts. My dad passed away 3 years ago, so the ending really gets me. Nemo's performance already made me weak, then I nearly cried along with Dons and eventually had to hold myself together for Joost's ending. Also I really hope he'll be able to perform tomorrow despite this "incident" that we don't 100% know what happened.
When it comes to the big 3:
- France: Wow, wow, wow. This was impressive and it's crazy how much impact Slimane has as only one person on stage. Gave me a similar feeling as Nemo. The part where he stood far away from the microphone is crazy, I loved it. And of course his voice is incredible too!
- Spain: Nebulossa is just fantastic, the staging is what makes this song/performance so great. I absolutely love the two dancers, tbh!🤭
- Italy: I guess I share your opinion when it comes to the outfits and staging... it is a lot. Aesthetically pleasing in my opinion but in a way a bit much. I can see what they were going for but I can also see why not everyone likes it. Despite that, Angelina's performance was amazing and I absolutely love La Noia and I'm sure I'm by far not the only one with that opinion.
Again, I can only say I like all the songs (some more of course but they're all great) so I'm sad that some couldn't make it. 🤧
They have to forbid pre-recorded backing vocals. For me, it's ruining what made ESC and really good artists special.
Last year I thought so too. This year I’ve had to admit this is indeed the standard of quality of our time and gives way more than it takes away. Poor live vocal performance is still as big a hindranse as it used to be with live backing vocals - Australia and Poland this year made this apparent. Pre-recorded ones do not fool us to misjudge poor performance. The primary vocals still have to be completely live. This update makes such cool things possible, like the Belgian performance with a choir of fan recordings. Good artists outside ESC use recorded backing vocals too, so it’s not that great of a difference and only an up to date addition to bring the entries to their full potential.
What I do agree on is that live backing vocals should not be completely abandoned either. There are perks to both.
Interesting that you felt in the arena San Marino's vocals were quite OK, I can assure you that on tv it was completely out of tune (my friends were texting me the same thing)
I'm surprised a lot of the strong songs that were in contention to win have staging or styling that is working kind of against them and lessening their chances. I feel like there were some very obvious staging they could have done that would have kept them higher in the odds. But with these current choices, I see a surefire top five placement and a surefire contender to win start to slip.
Congratulations on 10k ❤
I think you are misinterpreting the Slimane performance. I took it that the camera was the stand-in "person" (POV) and his hand movements were directed as if he were reaching out to that person and when the camera did the 360 move, it was as if the "person" was spinning around to see what Slimane was seeing.
You're perfectly right about San Marino.
Plot twist: Latvia wins.
They turned off the audience mics for Israels performance and inserted a previous recording of cheers and claps instead.
So sad people just don't know how to behave themselves.
@@abc4607 provoking (which is the only purpose of this song) will get people to react in a certain way. Nothing surprising there
Realizing national languages are an advantage in this era of ESC is something a lot of countries should catch up on. Balkans, I’m looking at you. Stop translating into english after national selections. I also hope more countries adopt the subtitles for songs default we already have. I also believe the year we have all Nordics sending entries in national languages would be the fulfillment of prophesies and peace would fall upon all Earth.
Any opinion about the Joost gossip about not rehearsing and protesting?
@wxtermelonXD-oi1fh I heard similar apart from the punching, I heard he spat on them.
I just assumed that 360 view of the crowd was related to two things: 1) We were supposed to see something in the crowd, as you noted, and 2) That's the amount of time they needed to bring out the microphone stand so he could put the mic in it? It felt weird. But once I saw the mic stand that wasn't there before, I said, "Oh. Okay."
18:59 You could hear them when the song got slower and quieter at the start and the end. I didn't hear them at first but when I tried I could.
Hello,
I had changed Malta: Sarah Bonnici, Loop from NQ to Q with Latvia as an NQ. I almost fell off the chair when Latvia was announced as a qualifier. I have appreciated the vocal performance since the very beginning but I had it as an NQ thinking the televote would not qualify it.
Austria: Kaleen, We Will Rave. It looked and sounded to me as if the backing track vocals were so pumped up and high that they were singing the melody vocal lead part. At times, I thought Kaleen was out of breath.
France: Slimane, Mon amour.- Impressive vocal performance but I am not sure the effectiveness of the camera shots on his hand and the interaction with the camera.
San Marino: Megara, 11:11. A total and complete out of control mess. Lines forgotten or not sung. Completely out of tune, pitch problems all over the place.
All.- please do not get mad at me. I am respectful of everyone's preferences and choices. I totally respect the references associated with his personal life and losing his parents at a young age. My heart goes out to him but for me I find Netherlands: Joost Klein, Europapa childish and immature. Fun, yes.
To me, the night's winner was without a doubt Switzerland: Nemo, The Code. What an impressive performance. Nemo is now my winner.
I loved loved Slimane, I was surprised how good staging was, and the emotion of the song.
Marina Satti was great, and you gotta appriciate the ambition, filming with one camera is complicated. Yes there were some technical difficulties with mic, and i hope she will mend this for the Final. Its one of my favourite songs of the year
I love Angelina Mango song, the staging , clothes , the whole concept on stage could a little better, but still a great performance. I prefered Sanremo staging, but i realise this is very different stage in Malmo.
Mustii should have qualify! Shame
Joost's staging was better than I expected.
Nemo was great, acrobatic performance. I was afraid for him, too, but he is a good performer and manage that round thing
I loved Eden's performance , choreography and amazing voice. I am not surprised it went up on the charts, and i dont think its all about politics.
Biggest surprise of the evening was how good Aiko was. Czechia gave a marvelous performance. Shame didnt qualify
I made a comment of songs I liked the most.
Switzerland is so outstanding
''We love Eurovision to much'' interval act was good.
Great video.
Marina was reportedly quite sick, performing as well as she did was a small miracle.
Megara got robbed, plain and simple. I was also a bit sad for Czechia. I'd swap either for Latvia.
I wasn't really shocked by Mustii's fall from grace as he was quite over the top.
I'm sorry for all those who do not qualify, as they all work really hard, but it is what it is
As for me it looks almost unfair that Sudden Lights last year didn't make it, while Dons did. Still - I'm glad for him, as I liked the song. While the staging looked rather poor, his voice sounded good.
And Kaleen... well, I felt the vibe. I have to say, I don't dance. I'm not into it at all. BUT! Kaleen made me move my butt. I agree it's not the vocals that did it. She moves really cool (not surprisingly for a professional of her level, of course) and the atmosphere of somethinh like dancing on the edge of apocalypse bought me.
Yeah but you can’t really use the bad vocal excuse when you’re dancing when Georgia’s 🇬🇪 Vocals and dancing were perfect
For me as a heterosexual woman Slimane's staging really works. The feels get me every time, and now it feels so intimate. He really got star power
The worst moment was when the hosts were greeting the German public and they showed people with a Belgian flag ! That hurt my soul lol...
But yes as Belgian it was a painful evening 🤐For months I lived with the idea we had a sure qualifier and then everything collapsed. The music video was so good that expectations were so high and then to deliver this subpar performance and staging was a huge letdown. I feel the Walloon delegation should learn from teh Flemish for staging !
I think the Flemish forget that the Walloons got no money. XD I notice it each time with the difference in the state of the road between Luxembourg and Belgium xD I drive just fine on our side and ONCE I cross that border it's s bumpy ride.
Nemo performance is fantastic (song, vocal interpretation and staging)! My favourite in this year edition.
1. Switzerland
2. Italy
3. Norway
4. Croatia
5. Ukraine

I feel really sad for Angelina. I got hooked by her performance at the Sanremo and i believed she is going to win. But now i don't see it at all. The performace wasn't terrible but not very good also. She is going down on the odds as well and her running order tells me that she is pretty much done. What do you think?
She is done. The performance was good (Angelina was good), but the staging is overcrowded. She disappears because there are visually too many things.
@@TH2714 I thought that too. It's really disappointing.
Staging was too dark and messy 😢
Decline TOTAL😂😂😂😂😂🤣😂
@@nicolettastrada5976 not funny. Go support the mew guy or the flamingo
I understand that some of the choreographies focus on the camera more than the effects on the audience because the votes come from the TV audience.
However, in the arena, these performances (Greece, France, etc) fell flat because there was no connection. I don’t know if that came across during the live stream, but if it does, it might hurt more than it benefits.
Idk what's happening with The Netherlands it looks like they could be DQ this year Eurovision is absolute chaos
The best was Käärijä !
I feel the same way about Italy, it was perfect in San Remo! She doesn't need back up dancers or flashy staging, her charisma and un-choreographed dancing was perfection, she is a star ❤
Croatia's song stands for the 'United by Music' slogan. However, Israel's does not. Voting for Israel, who are now second in the odds, will lead to political voting. Israel hosting next year would be catastrophic as we would get a 2009 Russia scenario with members of the IDF marching across the stage and showing their political side. What's worse, many countries will not be motivated to participate in Eurovision 2025 and therefore the quality of songs might be worse. In addition, many of these countries might withdraw. At the start of the season, so many countries threatened to do this and a recycled political song winning might be just what these countries need to withdraw. On the other hand, Croatia winning might encourage a BUNCH of smaller countries to return or make a start at Eurovision, for example, the city states and the Balkan countries. The song also isn't political, shows Europe's unity through the dance break with the crowd and the flashing wrist watches and Marco is a very sincere and humble person.
I agree, and in this sense, the winner could also be Greece 😉
Hang on, mate, Croatia's song from last year hid the political meaning, but everyone seemed fine with that. Amazing.
@@gerardkhachaturyan4814 Croatia's song was antiwar. I didn't like it per se, but it was all about peace, it's so obvious, you don't have to be a rocket science to see it.
What happened to Greece's single camera shot?!
the whole show (songs, hosts, intervals) was amazing!
it's nice that you still think that France could win. I love the song and Slimane, but I still don't think it will win... unfortunately. But I loved the performance, the camera shots are almost like he is having the conversation with "you only", including some gestures of tenderness and smiles and eyes. So he managed to create some intimacy within this big arena. But despite all this... would it get enough vote support to win? 🤞
I was sad for Czechia (I love the song and the performance), but happy for Latvia (he was really good! voice, but also managing some intense looks to the camera).
San Marino did not sing in their national language, or was there a bit italian?
Indeed. I meant non English. But Megara did perform in their national language so its confusing 😭😅😅😅
It's a curious mix, yes. They sing 11:11 in both languages and as a kind joke, when Megara were chosen by San Marino, the Spanish fandom renamed this country as "República de San Megarino" 😄
I agree with almost everything you've said, but have a few different conclusions. Eg., the Swiss staging looked a bit dangerous to me, too, but he performed so perfectly in such circumstances - that it increased not decreased imho his chances to win the contest. The song is really great, his performance and voice so powerfull... the only thing which is not that great is his dress, but this is not a fashion/style contest, right?
"The staging of Angelina Mango was a bit too much". Yes and no, there were things on that stage I've liked and some others I didn't. Eg., bit too much was her heavy make-up, not fitting such a young girl, while I've liked her dancers were of "different size", but in every stage we will find something we like or dislike. Her voice performance yesterday suffered, yes, I felt like she went a bit emotional, maybe a bit distracted by the cameras around, but she still has chances, it's a likeable pastiche song with many elements in it, which will score high both among the televoters and juries.
As for Austria, neither do I like Kaleen's tone of voice nor the genre, but her performance is stunning (she is also very good looking and a good dancer, too), refrain is catchy and boosty, I knew she would have attracted sufficient votes for these reasons...
Finally, I think Eden Golan's song went so high in the odds partially because it is a nice and nicely performed song and partially because this year the voters imagine "the final fight" between someone Loreen-type and someone Kaarija-like, and... as one famous German said "the history repeats itself first time as a tragedy and the second as a farce"... it may not go that way.
That being said, Baby Lasagna wins Malmo 2024.
Still really heartbroken for Aiko, she was my favourite in this semi final and I was really surprised by the amazing performance. I think if Czechia came later in the running order they would’ve qualified. She did seem really happy performing too like at the end when she’s smiling when the song ends😂
What did you think of Netherlands‘ clip in the rundown? I thought it totally misrepresented the song…
Don't know if it's a hot take, but Greece is probably one of my least favourite among all the qualifiers

The EBU uses anti-boo filtering. They have been doing that since ruzzia got booed in ?2015/6?(sorry forgot)
That they are using that is quite upsetting in itself, but now they've taken it a step further by adding canned applause.
So people were booing & the EBU dubbed applause instead.
The EBU, the fighter for journalistic rights as they like to see themselves,(see the cancellation of Belarus*) is deceiving the public about the reactions in the arena itself.
Integrity.
*Belarus was thrown out of the EBU because there actions against one(1!) blogger, not even an accredited journalist, who's alive & free today. The amount of media personal that's not alive because of the conflict is in the hundreds...
I mean I listened to some live videos and while there was some booing, there wasn’t a ton and it seemed well received by most
You forgot about Belarus' attempted entries in 2021, eh?
How many languages do you speak?
To be pedantic, English is a national language of Malta, and Spanish isn't a national language of San Marino, but I get what you mean!
If Israel is going to win this Eurovision might as well be dead tbh. First already with Ukraine's win in 2022 and now two years later Israel it would kill the magic for me. Also what bothers me the most about this semi is the way the production looked like they were pampering Israel and showing their support too much
It WILL be. Ten countries will leave and the contest will collapse if they're forced to go to Israel.
But it will win. I think all the numbers are in their favorite. Politics as well.
First Ukraine and now Israel? That's too much! And EBU says the competition is not political, ha! I hope it doesn't happen as it'll turn lots of people away.
Ukraine 2022 scenario won't happen again, IF AND ONLY IF other participants ACTUALLY show what they're made of. Don't blame Israel.
Oh, and where were you in 2018? Eleni's trash song didn't win, right?
@@gerardkhachaturyan4814 Trash song? You may not like it, you have every right to do so, but who remembers Netta? NOBODY. Who remembers Eleni? EVERYBODY. And Israel should be banned this year just like Russia is. If Israel can participate, then Russia should participate. If it's not political, the rule should apply to everyone equally. And Joost must be on that stage tonight.
These bracelets are activated remotely, not by the audience.
San Marino deserved to qualify - it was an excellent performance. Also, I wanted to ask, do you think Latvia might have been saved by the jury?
How exactly is Spanish the national language of San Marino?
They sang in Spanish and Italian, the 2nd verse.
I meant non English. And it is the band's national language
I don’t think Belgium was that much of a shock because to me it was always 50/50. It is a song that takes too long to build and the performance was not perfect either. I do really hope it doesn’t discourage him because he is great and I think his song was too good for ESC, too special, artistic and unique that viewers probably wouldn’t respect imo. Maybe if the year wasn’t as strong he’d make it and I would love to see him back to avenge this mistake at some point.
Malta, Azerbaijan and Australia were also non-qualifiers who sang in their national language.
Apparently Kaleen was a safe qualifier. Rumors says 4th
Don't understand why so many RUclips Euroanalysts are so confused by elements of the Slimane staging.
Totally agree re: Mustii. All felt too 'in your face' and pushed in performance. It affected his vocals, and the whole melancholy of the video was never captured live. Shame. Such a great song..
I just think Nemo's performance was just a bit too much. The song is really good, but the performance just kinda looks like it's been made by a council of 5 year olds. It just looked a bit too childish in my opinion
It kinda fell flat for me mostly the camera direction and his outfit, lucky for him he's absolutely on point with his voice.
@@salomerodriguez5145 I agree, the vocals really save this song. If the vocals were even slightly less insane we could have been looking at a Belgium 2.0
I agree. His performance felt short and blew any chance he had to win, even with a great song.
Excuse me? Childish? I was absolutely blown away by Nemo‘s performance, they are so good!
I liked the staging. The song is so dramatic that it requires either a really elaborate show (e.g. the music video, hardly feasible for the stage) or some sort of high stakes to illustrate it. The tilting and turning platform did the trick of providing an obstacle for Nemo to overcome in a surprisingly simple but effective way.
Estonia to be in top 10💯💯💯
Love your channel but it seems to me you are missing the irony of showing the Belgian flag after the flat reaction from the German public in the arena... I live in Germany and also lived many years in Sweden and I can tell you they know what they are doing. And Sweden have much more tongue and cheek humor than Germany... Also very German of you to think you have to "german-splain" them the flag. They know. LOL.Thanks for the good content by the way!
Thing is... In the rehearsals they showed Petra and Malin interacting which was much funnier so I don't think it was supposed to be in shot that long
I deleted my first reply here, because I had images from that segment in mind that turned out to be misremembered... Coupled with the (in comparison to the long greetings in other languages) terribly brief and basic "Guten Abend", I wonder if it's a "We don't (really) know anything about (these) Germans" joke. As a German and fan of the Estonian entry, I'd approve. :)
@@HerrHaque To feel confirmed by a German is surely a seal of quality! ;-) I mean the swedish Eurovision production team are absolute perfectionists, you think Edward af Sillen & co would let that flag mix up slip through? They trolled Germany! The whole show is a self deprecating and jokish with everybody… Denmark known for “something”… Charlotte Perrelli “singing the same song since 99”… the Miss Universe “FrAAAAAHHHnce” gag… them just being “too good at Eurovision” and going completely over the top with a musical number Family Guy style. They are brilliantly smug but completely self ironic and I love them for that. Swedish humor and creativity at its best.
@@forbanna87 Yes, agree with all you wrote! As we say in German, "jeder kriegt sein Fett weg," in this case in good spirits and with both presenters - and Petra Mede constantly - starting with themselves (as it should be). SF2 was a joy to watch because of that light-hearted silliness. Oh, and I've quickly forgotten about the Miss Universe gag, that was so sudden and random - thanks for the reminder!
It has been confirmed that Angelina will wear her black outfit from the second rehearsal. Personally, I think it looks way better and it suits the performance perfectly. I'm sure that Italy will have another great result either way. Top 10 if not even top 5 is guaranteed...
il resto per noi è solo noia! 🇮🇹🤭
Malta deserved to qualify
I don’t think Nemo hit the notes 100% but considering what he did on the stage it’s understandable
I was at the arena for the semi finals. The wrist bands worked automatically in time and colour throughout the shows, first showing the colours of the national flags for each country as they started. France was too much focus on the camera rather than the audience. I also find it a very standard French ballad however well it sung.Italy was ok not great and the same for Spain. Not really listening to her too busy watching the wobbly bottoms. Sad Belgium didn’t get through but ecstatic that Latvia did. I’ve Loved this song from the beginning,The people who like Latvia really like Latvia and it was a sincere well sung entry by Dons. Czechia was the surprise of the night, I did think it was going to qualify. The audience loved Estonia and singing the ooh oohs throughout. The atmosphere during Israel was toxic. Lots of booing and some people leaving the arena. I did feel very sorry for this young Ukrainian - it would have been a contender in any other year. With Norway the antics of the guitar players were more interesting than the song. I don’t like The Netherlands so the whole audience wasn’t behind it 😂 in the end I think it’s a battle between Croatia and Switzerland with Ukraine and Ireland battling for third spot. Enjoy the final everyone. And of course being English I want the UK to do well, it certainly doesn’t deserve a bottom 5 placing,
Switzerland is so outstanding lets vote for them europe ❤❤❤❤
Armenia qualifying for the grand final came as a shock to me. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t dislike the song, I’m actually really happy for them and I hope they do well in the grand final. I just didn’t expect them to qualify.
I liked Angelina's performance in San Marino for her energy and sassiness, but now, I think la noia actually struck here. I'm disappointed. Slimane has an amazing voice, but why does he have to try so hard to show this off? I don't like it, he spoils the ambient for a love song, there is no feeling there. Marina was sick and overwhelmed with nerves, but I'm sure she'll fix it and she'll be much better. I'm glad that Armenia qualified because it's a fun song, although I don't like the staging, it doesn't support the singer's exuberance.
SF2 was so much better than SF1 in almost every aspect. And Don’s qualification for the finals was the cherry top on it. After having seen all the performances, I have to say that for me, Portugal has the best package. What I have seen from favorites and the Big 5 on the other hand, was ok, but not really overwhelming. So I don’t even have a clear favorite anymore, who would deserve to win the contest.
Hey, just saying, they do not speak Spanish in San Marino :-)
I meant non English but it is the bands national language 😅
As a Dane i am quite glad SAND didnt make it to the finals, i would rather it fail and shakes up the event here than the organizers claiming 'but it got into the finals!' when it would surely have placed in the lower 1/4th
Sigh...
me and my husband are casual viewers and liked these songs- Georgia, Latvia, Israel, Italy.
husband thought NL was funny, for me he can't sing and its freakshow.
Spain was exceptionally cringe I must say, what the hell
we're doing shots every time there's an ass on camera wish me luck
german is widely spoken language in Europe. More than 100 million native speakers. As much or more than french, spanish or italian. Presentors speak languages, but are missing a big one.
Unpopular opinion, but San Marino's song and performance wasn't good at all. The only thing i kinda liked were costumes, everything else seemed at best messy and at worst just bad
I feel like Dons performance is just like the song title... Hollow.
Judging by the amount of emotion displayed right after the performance, I think he was a bit overwhelmed with the pressure of the Latvian NQ streak.
Wouldn't be surprised if he's way better in the final, with a lot weight off his shoulders.
🇬🇷 for sure top 5💯💯💯 Probably it s Ireland/Israel/Croatia/Switzerland and Greece
Botox 😂😂😂
Botoxvision Song Contest
You're so fast!! 😳
Maybe it's an unpopular opinion, but i highly disliked the random language changes.
Even as someone who speaks german and spanish, i don't want these random sentences. They don't add anything to this show. Sometimes they started to speak in french and it felt like they just did it for showing off. There was no purpose behind it and i hope it won't happen again in the final 😪
The interval acts of this SF were honestly final-worthy, I had no problems of falling asleep like it happened during the first SF... The song about Sweden loving Eurovision too much was brilliant, especially the Finland part 😅. Some little things can be just SO funny sometimes, like the line of "green Finn who threatened us with chachachacha", I was literally dying by this 😂😂😂.
As for the results, I already commented about my first impressions in your community post (which seems to be lost unfortunately?) What I didn't mention there was that Nemo's performance was just mind-blowing, WOW!
