I keep experimenting with Surprise. I tried another version with Outcaster Trailblazer and Dinos. I made a comparison with the last version. Unfortunately, Outcaster Trailblazer are too slow against fast decks. This is a cool card, but I think not for the current meta or not for this deck. I didn't even try Stompers instead of Outcaster Trailblazer, because it's insta suicide. Generally, the deck is playable, but I still have mixed feelings.

It was too slow so I added a bunch of early interaction. Stompers are too slow UNLESS you have other ramp in there. Being able to plot Nissa or Portal turn 5 most people just scoop right there. Make Your Own Luck suuuucks when you whiff 3 lands but it doesnt happen that often but when I had 4 typically I would just end up plotting another make youre own luck, thanks shuffler. If you own better lands than I do you could probably drop the spelunkings but if you play it turn 3 a LOT of azorious control will waste Get Lost on it, theyre just there to make my bad lands work smoother. Question helped deal with planeswalkers, looking at you Lili, when they would have a wall of deathtouch creatures blocking her. Same with Shelly, when you get going you have a lot of draw so she can hurt if you dont deal with her. Other Early threats you can just Mirror Shell crab your way out of, it hits a lot of people out of left field, and it counters ABILITIES! Titan and Tyrant carry most games and help you turn the tide against mono red and convoke aggro getting your life total back up fast to stabilize. Plenty of artifact hate built into creatures for those pesky Furnace and Synth players.
I've tried your previous simic list for about 100 games. Bonny was surprisingly good but Nissa was almost always a dead card for me I'll try this version of the deck sometime. The previous version got me to diamond 2 very fast
I enjoyed watching this deck, however, I did have one question: on your turn at around 19:00, why not play titan of industry for the shield counter rather than atraxa? Board wipe is the only way they can protect their Jace, and it plays around that(except for farewell)

I think simic will struggle holding its own. I think surprise and calamity needs to be set together as a finally

I really like sonios simic list. But I always remove atraxxa because I hate that card so much. Can’t wait for it to be gone😂
