What a fun match. Had some real YuGiOh: Bonds Beyond Time energy. Every turn Carl threw down a powerful, game-ending threat and everyone else had to scramble to deal with it.
Not saying that reanimator isn't good but they chose a matchup that would showcase what legacy can do but not be a blowout. For example, a delver deck isn't winning against 3 standard decks. It just isn't happening since it doesn't put out enough damage or 2 for 1 hard enough to outdo 3 standard decks. Reanimator can do big things but reanimator is susceptible to removal and doesn't win immediately. So when going up against 3 decks, reanimator 2 for 1s itself quite a bit to make its big plays go through. This works fine in 1v1 but a multiple opponent situation as we can see it isn't good at finishing the job. Whereas if it were a deck that uses any combo that wins against multiple opponents or really any strategy that affects all opponents at once, it'd be quite lopsided in the favor of the legacy deck. Elves would be pretty interesting as they can be reasonably interacted with but might be able to hit the ground running before enough removal hits them. After all, if reanimator goes off, they don't win. They have to outnumber the collective removal. Elves aren't 2 for 1ing themselves with trying to speed out getting rid of opponent interaction. Instead, they're just trying to go off and when they do it is often in a way that packs more punch and is harder to deal with than a single griselbrand. Not totally lopsided like breakfast and uses the board but showcases how just a few cards can completely change how a deck can run.
Ok for everyone talking about how Grief only targets opponents, just remember Carl still had unmask and could've done the same thing just in a different order
@@HwahTVWhat's embarrassing is that 204 people so far, probably 500 when it's all said and done, agree with the comment as if we should all lower our standards and not care about playing correctly. This isn't commander.
Random limited optimisation tip that comes to mind at 12:29 , but when using a combination of a burn spell + combat damage, you want to let combat damage happen first, then use the burn spell 2nd so you don't get blown out by removal. (In this case, snuff out is a real possibility). With eiganjo and similar effects, you want to do it during the end of combat step.
Oh hell yes, that was incredible! I love it when you people mess with formats and ways to play the game, you really don't get this type of content anywhere else ♥
At 9:27, when Carl cast Animate Dead on his Archon of Cruelty targeting Phil, Phil did not sacrifice his Topiary Stomper. This became relevant later when Phil cast Sunfall getting a 6/6 Incubate token, counting his Topiary as one of the exiled creatures. Were it not for this play, Carl would have one extra turn as the flipped Incubate token would only be a 5/5. It still might not change the overall results, but the misplay made the game end at least a turn earlier.
At 7:00 Carl casts Grief trigger targeting himself even though Grief can only target opponents. This idea is amazing regardless though and still a lot of fun.

To be fair, Carl punted more or less every turn. I have missed you guys
We did! I truly hope you enjoy what we have cooked up for this year 😃
Idea for a video: Two professional MTG players try to play accurately with a chess clock for tracking priority/time spent.
That would just be MTGO 😅 it's not as special as you might think
@@CardmarketMagic You could make the time limit really low so it's interesting still, like under 10 minutes per player.
That was a fun one! Wild idea.
AYE PHIL GOT ON THE COOLSHIRTZ
Love sunfall, banger card
I now require this, but with a Vintage deck.
This, a top Vintage deck would be interesting to see
Wonderful video. Missed you guys
Yay, Cardmarket is back! Cool video idea.
Carl should be at 12 life at 9:45 from the archon trigger
I've never seen Carl so happy :D
0:21 I thought it was the last three years of cards that go into Standart
Amazing video, the haters talking about the misplay are ridiculous. What a fun idea and a hilarious and entertaining video (as always)
Nice video, guys, ty!
Now three stranded decks vs one pauper deck? I’m betting on the pauper deck
this video makes me realize how little i know about standard nowadays
Nice idea. Still, it really put in the work, I thought leyline Binding would blow the reanimator deck away.
That was a fun take on archenemy
This makes me wonder if manaless dredge (my pet deck basically) has ever been in a card market video and if not when it will be
