oof ouch my jaw has detached from my skull and fallen on the ground
You should probably get that looked at
@sosukelele naaaah, they'll be fine
Ancient cornucopia is just so good people are putting it in decks even if it could theoretically brick their combo
mana rock with passive lifegain, sounds slow, but its perfect against aggro! :)
@@dominic9669 Pristine talisman was playable making colorless mana and 1 life per turn. This rock makes any color and can reliably be ~3 life per turn (cycle) in the right deck
Not so sure it is good vs aggro. Turn 4 begin lifegain once? Maybe some games it may matter if they dont have enough indirect damage? Consistent aggro counters benefit from early creatures with power greater than 2, or toughness greater than 3
@@stephenwithaph1566like with pristine talisman, 1 life per turn is still very good against aggro, and cornucopia rarely is only netting 1 life if you’re not monocolored. The point is that even just a couple life can buy you an extra turn against aggro, which will net you more life and put victory further and further away for the aggro player
@@123silverslash If you can stabilize, I can see how it can definitely seal the deal no questions asked
i honestly love this combo. Would even play it myself if only the deck wasnt 55 rares and mythics...
55? Welp, nvm. I only have 2 rare and 4 mythic wildcards lmao.
i'm 11 mythics and 22 rares short of makin it myself
Watching Boros Convoke with the perfect draw on the play get wrecked in Match 3
*chefs kiss*
I feel like a perfect draw from Boros Convoke on the play doesn’t leave you alive to make a turn 5 play with no blockers in play, even through 2 removal spells. But still awesome to see what they assumed was an inevitable win snatched away in one turn
"We can just kinda cast our cards at random and still win." Lowkey flex
I more or less do that in edh with dinos/dragons and it surprisingly works every time
Few single cards seem as dirty as casting and flipping Invasion of Alara on the same turn.
Sure plenty of plays can be more powerful, but making use of all the effects of each side just _feels_ so overwhelming.
I haven’t been this pleased with a combo deck since Prosperity / Cadaverous Bloom.
I know this isn't the point of your video, but I just love those basic lands. The art is beautiful, I wish I could buy them. Forget the shuffler, this is Arena being cruel. :) Great deck and piloting, of course. Goes without saying.
Not sure I’ve ever seen mono red get destroyed so badly as in game 1, nice. Utterly wrecked, dismantled
Nice. I still play the old version but this new version one looks really fun!
This is madness!
Love 5 color shenanigans! Awesome work as usual Luca!! 😄🤘
I love the thumbnail. It reminds me of Bruce Campbell and Evil Dead.
Reminds me of the Ghoul from Fallout, lol.
We need this kind of jank in real play!! Keep it up 💯
I'm a sucker for combo decks so yeah, i like this deck pretty much!
this and fight rigging will always be my fav
I’m really happy to see an uncommon get some spotlight
My jaw indeed dropped
Love the new ending card with the color breakdown and winrate. Also, question: why copy Desecrator over Fleshgorger at 23:35? I'm interested in learning from your thought process!
Could potentially lose to the Flying creatures getting pumped somehow, so was trying to mitigate that as much as possible.
wow! in match 5, the guy with 30 life surrended! XDD
LVDs voice gets me bricked up
I wondered why I kept running into this today. Hahaah.
Lets goooo!
LegenVD putting out videos like crazy! Well done.
This is such a cool deck. It looks very difficult to pilot so well done. How consistent is it overall?
Hopefully the video can answer that question!
@@LegenVD I think you had a lucky run. I've won zero games, where I didn't draw Invasion of Alara and I don't win every game where I do draw it. I actually bricked in my first game and lost. Also, if you don't play it until turn 5, you will probably be dead before you can cast it. You really need to find some ramp or the right interaction to stay alive. My current win rate is 33%, so I wouldn't waste wildcards on it, if you don't already have most of the cards.
@@erikblomqvist8325 It's still a combo deck at the end of the day, so you'll need to mulligan more than you're probably used to. Definitely had some fortunate games in the video, but even the old version was closer to 50% over a large sample. People are quick to downplay new decks, but often don't take the time to learn their inner workings. Aggro decks do well on the ladder because they're relatively straightforward to pilot.
@@LegenVD You're probably right about the mulligan thing. I don't really play combo decks and I play a lot of limited, so I mostly mulligan if I don't have a playable curve. It's a fun deck, but I'm losing too much rank playing it. Will give it another try and see if I can improve my win rate by being a bit more aggressive with the mulligans.
This is fucking crazy
"cascade was fixed specifically because cheating MDFCs/split cards costs is busted"- mama wiz
Also mama wiz: "just write the whole effect of the old keyword on the card - and also discovery lol"
THIS LOOKS INSANE! LOVE IT MAN! My question is: is mythic available with this deck? Cuz if I make this deck I'll use all my rare wildcards, ALL of them. No going back :x
You can technically reach Mythic with a deck that has
@@LegenVD Thanks for the answer. I'm in love with wild multicolored decks, that's why I'm considering making this one. This decks seems to have answer to everything, but I'm not a pro, and I can be wrong here. From Your experience what this deck lacks most? You mentioned there are other, better, decks to rank up - any recommendations? Could You mention ~5 different decks for kinda easy rank grinding? I'd be very grateful for that :)
@@halfmanhalfsober8098 Check out the Untapped.gg website for more accurate deck winrates.
Thoughts on running Spinewoods Armadillo.
Seems like having 5-8 copies of land fixing/life gain is pretty good.
Would happily play it if it cost 7 mana, but sadly doesn't flip the Battle with Desecrator.
So there's no card I would really want to cut for it, even if the effect isn't bad.
Ghoulish value
Is this really better than the old version?
It's not wildly different, but we basically trimmed the win-more stuff for a more consistent turn 4 or 5 combo.
@@LegenVD Nice
Do you stream on twitch?
Used to.
@@LegenVD Oh got it! If you ever plan to stream again let us know, love your videos :)
i lost my jaw
😳
This deck is a huge amount of fun. I like that all the incidental life gain gives it a chance against aggro.
There is nothing more satisfying than combo decks
Why does no one play Bramble Familiar with Kellan Joins Up? It works and seems easier to proc.
One the one hand Kellan Joins Up wants you to play cheap Legendary creatures, whereas Fetch Quest benefits from expensive permanents.
@@LegenVD I certainly understand that point, and you would lose out on the Alara flip (since I don't see Alara AND Joins Up in the same deck) but if the goal is simply to cast Fetch Quest ASAP, plotting Familiar with Kellan Joins Up seems like the fastest way to achieve that. (Bant mana being easier to line up than WUBRG) I think I've found a new jank experiment!!!
I’m p sure that first red player was a bot
Suprised Spinewoods Armadillo isn't better than Cornicopia
Would happily play it if it cost 7 mana, but sadly doesn't flip the Battle with Desecrator.
You mean better than Herd Migration? The armadillo is 6 mana, but he needs 7 mana cards to flip the Invasion of Alara. Plus, the armadillo would be one body, whereas the Migration gets a wide army. If you really meant the Cornucopia then im not sure that follows? The rock will continually give him more life and more mana in the long run over the armadillo.
@28:31 should have not gained 1 life, and instead later gained 5 off the maelstrom
Possibly, although we weren't guaranteed to hit Desecrator and transform the Battle.
Second!
