There is no evidence that Einstein said this. Plus it is pretty irrelevant. Any parent of a six year old knows that explaining is not the same as accepting (i.e. does not make sense, as in bedtime). It is quite simple to explain non-binary to kids and adults, but acceptance is hard if you want to be right about binary being right.

This has nothing to do with the non-binary issue, but one thing you have to understand about little kids that is so annoying is that they assign colors to gender. For example, when my teenage son was a preschooler and his favorite color was purple, the kids told him he couldn't like that color because it was a "girl color." My 9 year old daughter was told by kids in her class a few years ago she couldn't wear a science shirt because that is for boys.. and we live in one of the major US cities.. In that regard, I agree with this teacher that kids shouldn't assign names, colors, or subjects to gender. That gets old. But frankly, she should have just told those 7 year olds it wasn't any of their business and to go back to their desks. 🤷♀️

Exactly. At that age, they might ask you a passing question about your life out of mild curiosity: things like Do you have a dog? Sometimes maybe things like: do you have kids? or are you married? Just keep your answers simple, that's all they really want and they're done being interested in about 5 seconds. They don't want to hear a teacher or any adult talking about their lives in detail.

I never once asked my teachers who their room mates were. Never occurred.
When I was in school the teachers life never even entered my mind or convos. Heck we did not even know they were people, just teachers.
It never occurred to me to ask anything about my teachers’ private lives. They were there to teach me - end of story. And asking anything like that would have seemed highly impertinent. I went to graduate school 15 years ago when I was in my 50s and I never asked any personal questions of any of my professors.

You can see this in two ways honestly. Teachers are payed to lie, it's whether the lie is an easy lie and most likely to be true or not.
It was annoying for me personally in maths to be told, well this multiplication method is wrong we just taught you this as its easier so you will now have to use this method. Then science is the worst but in every subject teachers blatantly lie. In chemistry it was am actual refresher for the teacher to say.
Well what I'm teaching to you is wrong and if you take this subject for A levels you will learn why its wrong and how even though I'm saying your right I actually know your wrong.
We were blatantly lied to in history because I guess saying for eg guy fawks that his accomplices hadn't been found out yet and people even suspected the King himself apparently would have been too bad to teach.
Kids should be taught that a lot of things are actually not proven, their assumptions.
Like the theory of gravity, its called a theory because we assume it exists, something is stopping us from leaving. Scientists can't outright prove the concept though so it's a theory.
The fact teachers teach things like their always factual when they are not is what is scary.
At the end of school unless you pursue a subject further you don't know really any subject you've been taught, your only hope is to try teach yourself.

More than likely a 7 y/o since most kids start 1st grade at 6 y/o, though some kids turn 8 in 2nd grade depending on where their birthdays fall. Regardless, 6, 7, and 8 y/o kids just don’t have the mental capacity to process all of this even if they are smart/mature for their ages. I can’t believe our education and medical communities/systems are onboard with all of this.

If you are female you have: estrogen & progesterone hormones, eggs, you have a pelvic bone and an ovary.
Males have: Gonads, sperm, and produce testosterone.
You may be a female that produces TOO MUCH progesterone or estrogen, which your doctor may balance your hormones out with a little bit of testosterone - this does not mean you suddenly turned into a man....
You may be a male that has too little testosterone/too much, so your doctor may prescribe hormones to balance that out.

I was born in 88, I remember when I asked my 4th grade teacher, the only man in the school, when he was getting married. All us girls had crushes on him, and one of the other teachers had said he was getting married. He got so upset and asked "why would you ask that? It is inappropriate for children to hsve this conversations with adults without their parents present". He was maybe 30. I didn't understand why he got upset back then, bur now I get it. He was discouraging us from stepping over boundaries and getting comfortable eith being inappropriate. I appreciate and respect him so much for that. We def need to bring that back.
For me, they will always be part of the school. There when school opens, and disappear when the last bell rings
I’m a middle school teacher. Only thing the kids know about me is that I’m married. I talk with some of the boys about hunting and fishing, but that’s about it. None of their business what I do when I leave the school. These teachers make me sick.
Luckily, there are still good public schools out there. You’re probably not going to find them in democrat states or in big cities.

The only time I knew about my teachers is when they were the teachers that were also members of my church or that I knew outside of school in some other local or community fashion. The teachers that I only knew at school I knew pretty much nothing about. back then if you had a male teacher, not always I had some male teachers that were not coaches, but most of the male teachers were also coaches. And you got to know them because you spent so much time with them at practice and traveling on buses, etc. and back then especially with me being from the south they all hunted and fished and we talked about those type of things and of course sports.

I saw it with several teachers in all grades and every single one answered with something like, “you don’t need to know that, get out your textbooks.” Even the friendly teachers didn’t talk about their home life at all. I've noticed people from that community call children "friends" to be neutral. If I hear an adult saying that to a group of kids that my children are included in, I'm pulling them out. I do not want any of this non sense around my children.

When I was in middle school, my music teacher got pregnant (she was a Mrs. so nothing shocking there) and not a one of us had ever had a pregnant teacher before. All of her music students and our moms gave her a baby shower just before she went out on leave.

My students didn’t know anymore about me than what they found out on their own. My second graders are not my friends or therapists-they are children who I am required to teach reading, writing, math, science, and social studies. Who I am doesn’t factor much into the equation.

My co-worker is pregnant and has for-warned everyone ahead of her baby shower that the child will be referred to as they/them, even after the child is born. When the child is old enough to decide what they want their pronouns to be, they / them can decide. This poor child! Being dragged into a narcissistic attention-seeking mother’s drama.

It’s so scary when sending your child or children to school with little real knowledge of who we are entrusting them to. My children are in their mid to upper forties now and I was blessed to not have to work, and I volunteered for all kinds of things at the school. I knew “who the teachers were” - which ones were qualified and responsible for providing the education and training needed for success of the students. I also attended the teacher/parent meetings and conferences always. I later served on the board of the PTA and I would do it again gladly to see what can go on there. I don’t believe that students should be turned over to obviously gay faculty members. I am so confused and frustrated by the number of shootings that occur in this country now. It shocks me how many people buy and own firearms and assault weapons that kill innocent children, etc. What is going on here?????

But there is a reason to avoid giving them the impression that asking questions is wrong. That means she can't shut them down, when they do. As it is, she kept her answers minimal, was honest (i.e. didn't say anything she didn't believe), and managed to avoid imposing or lecturing any ideology. Those kids will either forget about it, or ask their parents, both of which are perfectly acceptable results.
Spend more time teaching academics like you're paid to do and less time trying to have a relationship with your students
In all fairness, the kid’s the one who asked and it’s important to ask questions. Sometimes you need a young kid to ask you questions to help you realize how much you do or don’t understand. Unfortunately, some people just never learn

When I was in 2nd grade, way back in the day, my teacher kept her private life just that…private.
Yeah all my teachers were focused on teaching us the curriculum. Even the playful teachers never shared their personal life, unless they were to use a snippet of it to help us better understand a complex lesson. Using real life really helps with that, but never did anyone's real names or gender identity come into it or what they were wearing

@@itsoashley ahhh the post modern and nihilistic views where nothing matters, there are no objective truths, and that there is a need to change societal norms and systems. I will remember this when my wife asks me for my opinion next time when trying on dresses for a night out. Honey, it is just a piece of fabric. Oh and you wear it better than Harry Styles. Shout out to my first grade teacher wife! I feel like videos like this give teachers a bad name. Most teachers I’ve come across are completely normal people who don’t have agendas. But I also don’t live in California 🤷🏻♂️
My husband and I teach at the same school and are 2 years from retirement. The students don't even know we're married. We teach grade 11 & 12. Why are teachers discussing their personal lives with children. This is horrifying.

They asked her she didn’t try to confuse them and if she said it’s not their business their second graders they might cry or keep pushing she did the right thing bye answering as vaguely as possible so she didn’t push her beliefs on them. She also didn’t even mention the term non-binary as to not confuse them and push her beliefs on them. She is probably one of the only good teachers left because this was a good way to handle they situation they put her in.
