123 year old grandson!!!!! Just give the recipe for eternal life.
My very first job(outside of babysitting) I worked for The Bureau of Land Management (summer jobs in the 70's) in Colorado and we would have to camp out on the wilderness. WELL,this was actually a GO TO in the mornings because you could make a whole bunch at a time. We called it our version anyhow,Juevos Rancheros. I don't know what real juevos rancheros is but this is what I call what you just made. AH,MEMORIES! BEST JOB EVER!
Thank you for sharing your memories. Always nice to read...
My Kurdish Uncle used to fix something he called "Hicks and Tomat."
He would simmer thick slices of tomato to the sweat point, then crack an egg into the centers, season with his personal blend of middle-eastern chili peppers, black pepper, and salt. So damn good on a slab of toast!
Nice recipie! I'm trying this version soon!
Sounds awesome!
I grew up all over the Middle East and North Africa. Traditionally the Spice comes from harissa paste. A blend of chilli and rose petals. Big favourite with my family. In fact my 123year old grandson Ashton cooks it for himself 2 or 3 times a week lol. Will watch this with him at the weekend, we enjoy your channel a lot.
Thanks so much! Harissa is such a great ingredient.
"my 123year old grandson" - how old are you with a grandson over hundred years old!!! 😮
Lmao
Just got back from a long Euro vacay and just saw this video. Shakshuka is a recipe I have been making for decades and we love it. It comes from North Africa and everyone from Morocco to Algeria to Tunisia to Libya to Egypt try to claim they invented it!! Great to travel to Morocco and Egypt and try their versions...not very different. Thanks for showing this recipe.
I'd definitely love to do that.
Hmm, would be great on an English Muffin with some breakfast meat. 😋
I 100% can get behind this. To me, this would a perfect Sunday brunch dish in the fall seating down to an afternoon football game.
Great cook! One of my wife's favorite dishes. But she is a Baby Mouth, so I lean into the bell pepper and smoked paprika rather than spicy. We eat it with pita bread.
I made this last night but I used peppers from my garden minus the red bell, came out good, was fun making it. 👍
That looks amazing.
excellent recipe
I'm from Eritrea and we use a spice blend called Berbere. I think you'll love the boost of flavor as well as the smokey pepper it brings to any dish. It's a flavor bomb in the best way.
I love berbere. Adds wonderful flavor!
I love garlic and I love chilli! You are a man from my own heart
So good!!
Looks good, gotta try that!
Made myself a quick habanero sauce based on one of your recipe, loved it! New sub.
I'm so glad you came up on the "Creator on the Rise" in trends. Loved the video and will be diving into your other videos. I am a gluten for spicy.
Thank you a bunch! And enjoy other recipes - I bet you will love them all! ;)
Just add some garlic Naan for the win!
Looks delicious. I didn't hear you mention my favorite optional addition to Shakshuka, sujuk sausage. Yum!🤤
You're an absolute inspiration, Mike. Can't wait to try this one out!
Thanks so much!
Love your vids and the weekly emails...can't wait to try this one out with a doubling of the cilantro hahah. Cheers Mate~
Thanks! Enjoy!
Fantastic job. I will definitely be trying this soon.
Thanks for sharing !
Thanks!
I love this dish, i have Moroccan coworkers and we often make this at work. Add some lamb meatballs and put some whole pointy paprika in there and just eat out of one pan using bread. Timing of the eggs is very important. Yolk still has to he runny.
That sounds awesome!
I love shakshuka. I bulk it out with zucchini and bell peppers and spinach.
I love it.
That looks good! Definitely trying this tomorrow morning
Enjoy!
That is one of the most awesome dishes ever I’ve ever tried. For the record it pairs great with refried beans.
I would like this a lot, I learned in the south to put salsa on my eggs, now I really can't eat eggs without it. Amateur tip: just before the eggs are done, add the salsa to the pan to warm it up.
A great pairing for sure.
Cilantro! Now your talkin'!
Always been interested in making Shakshuka, Mike, never got around to it, but I'm definitely going to try this out. It looks awesome! Thanks all the best from Canada
Hope you enjoy! We love it here.
Shakshuka is awesome and I love your take and right on, it’s great for multiple meals. It’s really versatile. Some spicy Hungarian paprika would be a nice add. Love the channel!
Thanks, Yes! Paprika for sure.
Total going to use the with some Korean pepper paste!
Boom! I love that.
@@ChiliPepperMadness My wife is Korean and she over heard you say that korean pepper paste and she said we have that, I never knew😂 been eating it for years, Koreans dip peppers in the paste and eat them, I like the other paste that looks more brown not red.
Yes, it's fantastic - gochujang. I use it like crazy in so many dishes. Big flavor for me!
Looks great Mike. Hot and spicy Shak is definitely my favorite. 👍
Thanks 👍 We definitely love it!
Have you ever tried queso cotija? You will love it with these recipe
Cotija is perfect here! Really any crumbly cheese. YUM.
I just, by chance, cut your trail yesterday evening and I followed it, today, back 4 years, and that was enough for me. Looks like you and I have very similar tastes in food, so I'm now a new subscriber. Don't know why I never came across your channel before, but I'm glad I did. Watching from South Texas.
Yes, glad you found me! It seems the ever mighty algorithm has decided to spread us around a little. =) I hope you find many recipes you enjoy.
@@ChiliPepperMadness I can't believe that you've been doing these videos for 10 years and this is the first time I'd seen them. Thanks for all you're doing for us chili heads.
I appreciate that. Yes, mostly on and off, but very steady the last 3+ years here. Took a bit to get a little noticed! =)
@@ChiliPepperMadness Well, something popped the RED smoke!
awesine'
Tomorrow night 👍
Have fun!
A cast iron pan will enhance your dish further than a non stick aluminum pan and it's also easy to clean! 😊
Cooked this last night and the flavour was awesome. The wife also loved it. Thanx for the great info and well presented video. Subscribed. Where did you purchase your pan from please? Love and respect from England UK ❤
Glad you enjoyed it! It's a HexClad pan.
Thanx boss @@ChiliPepperMadness ❤
Sup mike, this is going to be awesome, I love fire roasted tomatoes, going to make like this. Sometimes play with Korean, Mexican.. especially with garden tomatoes grilled... Put cast iron pan right on grill and eat outside.. great inspiration. tyvm tc
I love that! Enjoy!
@@ChiliPepperMadness sup mike, starting to get crazy over what's next lol. I have chilies cravings, lately been Calabrian chilies again, mostly pastas, garlic and wine chili sauce for fresh seafood hitting coast, don't recall any Calabrian chilie recipes you've done? Might have, any ideas jump in mind? Tyvm tc
PS, been making these eggs a lot, with store bought pizza dough makes a great flatbread with leftover tomatoes and chilies👍
I love it! I do have some Calabrian chili recipes on the site, but no videos yet. Must remedy soon! I love them! I love to hear about all the cooking. Nice.
@@ChiliPepperMadness best channel on RUclips 👊
How would you do a Cajun or Mexican style's ???
You can change up the seasonings. Use a Cajun or Creole blend, or Mexican spices and chilies. Works great!
I think I could really expand and this. Could it be made with Marenara sauce instead and put on top 🔝 of noodles?
It won't be "the shakshuka" anymore but there's definitely room for variation and creativity. You could serve over noodles instead of bread and use the marinara sauce but the flavors will be different. I think you should name that dish, too :) And let me know how it goes!
I bet using gochugaru for the chili flakes would be amazing in this dish. Maybe with a little kimchi as well.
Yes! You can seriously play with this recipe a lot.
I know he's legit chili mad... he done burnt all his facial hairs off!
This dish looks fantastic, just gotta scale it down since my kids won't help me eat all that.
Yes, very important to adjust to your own preferred heat level. =)
I enjoy your channel a lot. One piece of criticism…. I’d like to see the the tasting section in color. I think it’s important to see how the food breaks apart and “eats”. While black and white with the camera viewfinder is a cool concept, I think it takes away from a critical part of your presentation.
Thanks for the feedback!
bald is beautiful
LOL. It is on me for sure! =)
