To both Northside Lexus and Melissa O'Connell: The term, "thank you" just does not adequately express my gratitude for your videos. I am on the West Coast, but watched MANY of the videos (completely) with Melissa O'Connell and they helped me to decide on the purchase of a 2024 Lexus NX 350h. Her detailed descriptions and concise instructions helped give the ability to make an educated decision and confidence in my choice. If I lived in Texas I would be your most loyal customer. Thank y'all so very much!
Wow, thank you! Thank you so much 😀 Congratulations on your new NX350h! I'm so glad I could help you learn all about it and feel good about your choice in vehicles. I really appreciate your support!
I just took delivery of my 2025 Lexus NX 350h recently, and your videos have been so usefull, thank you for providing them and with such a sparkling personality too!!
Incredibly helpful tutorials! I got my 2025 Lexus NX 350h last week from a Lexus dealership 150 miles away as the local dealership did not have the car that I wanted. Thanks to your detailed explanations, I was able to set up my car and enjoy the process without needing to consult the technical specialist at the dealership!
Perfect timing!! We pick up our new NX Monday. I can't imagine all the hours it took to plan, record, edit, and produce this and all of your videos. While I live in Illinois and could not be a customer of your dealership I truly thank you for the amazing effort and resources you and your production crew put in to this channel. It's truly amazing!! Thank you, thank you!!!
Oh my gosh you are so sweet! You just made my day! I don't have a production crew...it's just me, a few different smart phones, a blutooth mic, a couple of tripods and my Macbook Pro! LOL! I do this in any spare time I can find during my full time jobs at the dealerships. I really enjoy it and I'm so glad the quality is good for everyone! I really appreciate your kind words and support! Thank you so much for being here!
What model and color?Called dealer last week for a new NX fsport ! It will be coming in the end of the month! I am stoked presently driving a 2019 V wagon alltrack ! I thought about a hybrid but I maybe put on 5 to 8000 miles per year!
Melissa you and your team are amazing, even though I didn't buy the NX from you and don't even live in the same country! Your videos are so helpful. As a community let's try to get her NX videos to the top!
Awwww! Thank you so much @Villagemayor!! I'm so glad you are enjoying my videos and they are helping you make the most of your new NX! What a treat! Thanks very much for all of your support!
@@NorthsideLexus We as NX owners want to thank you for producing these videos. They are a lot of work and we all benefit even though we don't live in Houston. I am a member of various groups and your videos are mentioned and recommended. Keep up the great work!
Absolutely incredible work! I work in IT and you taught me things I didn’t even know about Apple CarPlay! You’re so through and your voice is so soothing.
All I can say is MIND BLOWN!!!!!! I don't know what I would have done without these videos. I just recently purchased the 2024 NX 450+ P and luv it so far.
Well Done, Lexus must give her award and bonus for her detailed video. I have not encountered dealer product specialist with the detail knowledge she has.
Hi Melissa, I would like to thank you and your team for making your great training videos on RUclips. They are very easy to follow and very comprehensive. I picked up my 2023 Lexus NX 350h vehicle last Saturday (Feb 25th). Since I listened to your the NX Deep Dive Training videos twice before picking up the car it simplified everything making me familiar with most of the vehicle's features. Thanks again from Dan in Canada. You guys are great.
Thanks so much! I wish I had a team LOL! I would be able to get more videos done for everyone and much faster! I'm really glad you like them! Thanks for being here!
Greetings from London, UK, Melissa…I have another 9 months to wait out of the 12 after ordering and am very grateful for your highly professional videos in the interim. You’ll have put a lot of work into preparing this excellent video and it’s very much appreciated. Northside Lexus is very lucky to have you on the team! Many thanks. 👍
Thanks so much, Andy! You are so kind! I'm sorry you are having to wait so long for your new NX, but I hope you will love it when it arrives! I'm happy to help you be ready to make the most of it! Thanks again for your comment and for watching!
These part 1 and part 2 deep dive tutorial for new owner is amazing. So thorough and detailed with how to. Thank you so much with this. Understand so much better than reading the manual.
Melissa…I’ve had my NX350 for about a month now. Just found your video…the fact that I can set the climate settings with remote start is a game changer! Didn’t know I could do that. I have the Premium package with the ginormous 14” screen. My best car ever. Thank you for these tutorials!!!❤🎉
I just took delivery of my 2025 Lexus NX this weekend! I absolutely love it! Thank you so very much for your videos! They are so very helpful! I learned so many new things about my NX!
The 2 videos were outstanding! I am a visual learner and your in depth demo has lifted my anxiety about operating many of the features of the NX450h+. Thank you for doing this!!!!
Part 2 is here: Northside Lexus has done it again! Thank you for an incredible job that makes things so easy for Lexus NX users. Thanks to Melissa and the entire team for their effort and dedication. All my appreciation from Spain.
Aww! Thanks so much, Xavier! I'm so glad you're enjoying this video as well! I really appreciate your support. I'm sorry it took forever for me to get it filmed and edited. Learning, training, filming and tracking all the cool new features! Whew! I wish I had a crew to help. It's just me, my iPhone, a mic and my Macbook Pro ;) I'm so glad everything is showing up at a high enough quality for everyone! I really appreciate all of your support!
Unbelievably informative video!! Can’t believe the level of detail you’ve gone to and I so appreciate that you did. The very best I’ve seen on RUclips - thanks heaps!😊
Again another amazing video!!! Like someone below said, I read the manual front to back twice, but learned SO much more by watching these. Thanks also for the index so I can some back to specific spots later if I need a refresh. I hope someone at Lexus corporate appreciates the effort you put into this. It must have taken tons of time to record and edit!
Thank you so much for your support and very kind comments! I'm glad to get to help you learn even more about your Lexus NX! The Deep Dive videos are definitely a labor of love. I work on videos for us in my spare time between my normal job duties. I started the long videos because of the pandemic and not being able to teach our Guests in person about their new Lexus. I had no clue they would be such a hit. I was originally planning on stopping once the world opened back up, but so many people enjoy them so I'm going to keep making them. I wish I could get them done faster, but I just work steady at it and appreciate everyone's patience when it takes me a while ;) Thanks again for tuning in with me!
Great video. I have had my 350h for about six weeks now and thought I had covered most settings. But after viewing part 2 I found another 5 items I didn't realize I could change and wanted to. My Lexus sales guy in Toronto, Canada was impressed by your part I and recommended you. So you are becoming well known in the Lexus world.
Thanks so much, Gary! Congratulations on your new 350h! I'm so happy to be able to help you learn even more about it! How fun that your sales person is enjoying the videos also! Thank you again for taking the time to leave a message :)
I’m getting my Fsport End of the month I was wondering when you turn the lights on in the app function does it turn all the lights on or gives you option for parking lights? I’m not crazy about the radar cruise in my wife’s RAV4 , I like the idea of being able to change the following distance my biggest complaint was slowing down too early on approach of another vehicle! Enjoy!
Melissa: Thank you SO MUCH for these great videos. Our NX450h+ came from a dealer 300 miles away, so they could not help with detailed instructions. This was FAR BETTER than any manual. Thanks again. Great job!
I just took delivery of my NX350 Luxury vehicle and so far love it. These deep dive videos are invaluable to learn the ins and outs of what are now fairly complicated tech heavy vehicles. The one thing I didn't see on either deep dive videos was how to activate the headlight washers. I couldn't find any mention of it in the Lexus manual either. It took me quite a while to find even a mention of it on RUclips and although not complicated to activate you still have to know the sequence to use it. Not that it's a big deal but it probably should have been noted when I picked up my vehicle and went through the tutorial with the Lexus rep. Thanks for the great videos.
Hi @bacon2bacon! Thanks so much for tuning in! How did I miss that?!? Headlamp washers are linked to windshield washer operation and the headlights must be on. I'm not sure this link will work, but try this: assets.sia.toyota.com/publications/en/om-s/OM78341U/pdf/OM78341U.pdf page 217, for more detail. In case the link doesn't work: This is what the Owner's Manual has: Pull the lever. (Front windshield washer) The front wipers and washers will operate. The front wipers will automatically operate a couple of times after the front washers operate. Vehicles with headlight cleaners: When the headlights are on and the lever is pulled and held, the headlight cleaners will operate once. After this, the headlight cleaners will operate every 5th time the lever is pulled. I'll make sure to mention this in future videos. Thanks again!
Thanks so much! I'm so glad it is perfect timing for you to learn more about your new 450h+. Hope you enjoy it! I still can't wait to get my hands on that model! If I'm able to get access to one for filming I'll do a special video for anything I'm able to learn about it that may help. It will probably be a while, but in the mean time I've seen some pretty good information on the RAV4 Prime that may help. Enjoy your new Lexus!
Thank you! So very helpful. I picked up my NX 2 weeks ago. I live in another state and even though my dealership was great in showing me the basics I so appreciate your in depth tutorial.
That’s fantastic! Did it bring your NX to version 1040? They just announced this to us as well that the OTA was being sent out. It will roll out is small batches so the servers can manage all of the updates at once, if that were to happen. It’s a smart, slow and steady approach to the roll out. Glad it is finally here and working well for you!
Thanks so much for making this content! I just picked up my new NX350h this past weekend and I hate reading manuals. I'm a very visual learner so this gives me less anxiety about learning all the new features.
Hi Melissa, I would like to thank you and your Dealership for producing some great content. Do you know if you rename favorite addresses in the Navigation ? Thanks again from Montreal
Hi! Thanks so much! I'm so glad you're enjoying my videos! At the moment we are not able to customize the names of favorite destinations in the new Lexus Interface NAV system. We have given this feedback to Lexus, however and hope it will come as a future app or Drive Connect update. Thanks for checking in with me about it!
Thank you for the tutorials and Tech Tip Tuesdays. One idea for a Tip Tuesday might be how to clean the NX350h car , especially as it pertains to automatic car washes (what to do to prep for one, which ones to use and not to use, any special tips because of the battery, other tips, etc.). Thanks.
I LOVE this idea! I do get asked about how to manage things in a car wash. Since there are different types of car wash conveyers and self driven, I'll need to do some more research, but I love this suggestion and will work it! Right now I am buried in LX footage for that deep dive and am way behind on finding time to edit. (Sigh). This is on the list though! Thanks so much!
Thank you an in depth review of the nx. I just purchased one from ny. Anyone near texas should give you their business. These were very informative videos. Thank you
thank you so much, you make my job so much easier. I also teach guests about new lexus cars, and these tutorials help me so much. only been here a couple of months but feel so much less stressed, again thank you
Hi Melissa, after just buying and taking delivery of my new NX350, wow its great, but so much tech its amazing...these video clips are priceless, after watching a number of your clips, I am now well informed of all the functions and options....thanks so much for the fantastic work you have put into these :) Regards Steve
Thanks so much, Steve! I'm so glad my videos are helpful for you. Congratulations on your new NX! I know there is a lot to learn, but I hope these will help you make the most of your amazing new car! Thanks again for being here!
Oh gosh! Timothy, I'm so sorry. Both of our dealerships had NXs stuck at the port for months. I'm not sure what they did to finally retrieve them, but I think the keys went to sleep and even the batteries needed to be jumped because they sat so long without being driven. I hope they are able to retrieve your vehicle for you soon. I'm glad you enjoyed the video to learn all about it in the mean time. Thanks very much for being here.
Jeepers. 2 hours 25 minutes. I’d better put the kettle on. Amazing level of detail and information. This should be compulsory viewing for anyone who’s bought the new Lexus NX even all the way over here in Australia. Thanks so much Melissa. This was definitely worth the wait from part 1. Thanks, Craig.
LOL! Right!?! I kept thinking I should add an intermission ;-P Thanks so much for tuning in with me, Craig and for hanging in there while I worked on Part 2. My son said it's like when the Black Window movie kept getting delayed. Bwahaha! Not sure if he was trying to say I was taking forever, the video is super long or he knows I love Marvel...but it cracked me up! Thanks again for being here!
just picked up my NX450h+ (o that name) today and everything sorted just by watching your tutorial! The Lexus owners manual (in French) had me seriously worried so ... Huge Thumbs Up!!
Hi Fred! That's awesome to hear! I'm so glad I could help you learn more about your new NX450h+ I have some other NX videos that might help. Here's the NX Playlist link: ruclips.net/p/PL4lBXG_KFg_Ai-dMa1gNG_bm9RJth3m7N Thanks again for being here and congrats!
These tutorials are the absolute best and the indexing, brilliant idea. My 2024 Lexus 350h is on order, but I'll be well versed in setting up my drive profile and other features when it arrives. Thank you!
Yay! Congratulations on your new NX F-Sport! I'm so glad you're loving it! Enjoy the video and let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for tuning in!
Hi Melissa. Greetings from across the pond here in the UK. Thanks for posting another great video. Very informative and helpful. Will definitely help me to get the most out of my NX350h.
You are so welcome! Thank you very much for your support and for tuning in with me for this latest deep dive. There is so much to learn on this new vehicle! I'm so excited for you and hope you love it! Congrats on your new NX350h!
Such great questions! Lexus has received a lot of feedback about the split screen feature. I’m not sure if it will come as an OTA update, but it has been requested and my contacts at Lexus have told me they are looking at that option. I do know the next iteration of the multimedia system will be coming for 2025 so they may wait for the newer version if it is a compatibility issue. But hopefully and update could add that. Thanks again for being here!
Wonderful video! Thank you for doing this, it is really good work. It is obvious how much effort was put into the video and it is appreciated as a new customers.
Yay! Congratulations on your new NX 350h!👍 The Nori Green is a lovely color. It really changes in the sun compared to at night. I love how the color has a lot of depth to it! Thanks for tuning in to the channel! I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos!
Wonderful tutorial! The most complete tutorial about NX 2022 in the entire internet. Just a question about Android Auto. Is Android Auto compatible with wireless connectivity?
You are so sweet! Thanks very much for tuning in with me. I'm so glad my tutorial was helpful for you. There is so much to learn and use on the new NX. I hope you are loving your Lexus!
That is great to hear! Thank you so much! Congratulations on your new NX! We finally got our first NX450h+ at our store and I will work on a short video specific to the differences on the PHEV. It could take a bit for me to film and edit, but I'll have it for everyone ASAP. :)
Melissa is simply amazing and so is this channel. I’m not even sure if there’s ever a better source for lexus products than this channel anywhere else. Corporate needs to invest in content production as well as in Melissa and team to incorporate her work for all products across all markets. This is incredible work and they’ve been doing it for a minute across all products. It was her GS video that helped me a lot when I got mine. Props to y’all. I see you Melissa and keep doing ya thing. We appreciate ya!
@@NorthsideLexus oh my god. I just learned that you’re doing all of this by yourself. I’m blown away. I really thought this was a team effort. You are that amazing. I can’t imagine how exhausting it must be to film and edit all of this by yourself. Wow. Simply wow.
@@Rightonrightoff You are so sweet! The team effort is in the learning and training. I learn so much from the Lexus College, Lexus area trainers and this amazing group called the Lexus Inner Circle that I am part of. We have about 15 of us across the country and we try to help each other learn and troubleshoot anything we can get our hands on. Then I go through the vehicles with a fine tooth comb and film like crazy and edit like crazy. I really enjoy it. My actual job is as a Lexus Technology Specialist (yep, that's a real thing), in-house trainer and Department Director for Technology and Outreach for our two stores. I never dreamed these deep dive tutorials would be such a hit. I only started making them, because of the pandemic. I wasn't able to sit in person and teach the features to new owners so this was a virtual lesson back up plan. Now it is a big part of what I do each day and I am so grateful for the opportunity! People like you, who take the time to share your support make it all worth it!🤗
Thank goodness for this valuable resource of information being available at our fingertips. It’s convenient and very helpful. Well done. With technology advances all automakers need to do this for their customers
Thanks so much, Geoffrey! I couldn't do it without our super Lexus Inner Circle team and everything we are able to learn and troubleshoot together! ❤️ The best!
Sorry, but your feature of the Proactive Driving Assist hasn't been added to this NX video but can be found on the 23-24 RX deep dive part 2 at 58:39 . Great work on all your Deep Dive's of Lexus products! I use these videos for reference constantly. Much easier to 'see' it rather than read the manuals they produce. Plus as new features come out it's easy to watch and learn what's changed.
Thanks so much. I'm sorry I haven't been able to update the NX video yet to include the addition of Proactive Driving Assist. Glad you found it on the RX video. Thanks very much for being here.
I just bought this car, and your tutorials are incredible. I feel like I will get the maximum out of all the features, thanks to you. You are an excellent teacher, and I appreciate the time stamps, so I can come back again and brush up on certain aspects of the car. Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Hey, I figured out how to get the hidden tachometer feature where it shows RPM, ECO mode, etc. First step is you have to set your HUD to the "full mode". Second step is you have to turn off your lane departure alert. Third step is you have to change the driving assist mode from Adaptive Cruise Mode to Cruise Control Mode. Fourth step is to turn off the Lane Tracing Assist. If you follow these steps correctly (no specific order) the hidden feature's will show on the HUD when you swap between driving modes. Eco has the Eco Meter. Normal, Sport, Sport+ have the RPM gauges.
WOW! This is amazing! How in the heck did you find that! You are a Ninja for sure! So selecting to have it Auto Change in the settings for the Tach isn't enough to get it to change for each mode? I can see having Full turned on for HUD to permit more info on screen, but to turn off LDA and DRCC seems strange. I will definitely experiment with one when I can. Thanks so much for exploring!
Hi Melissa, great and informative video! I've just bought a new Lexus and I was wondering if there's a setting to turn off the feature where you simply place your hand near the door handle to lock/unlock the car. These cars are in high demand for being stolen, and if possible disabling this feature could help protect my Lexus from theft. I'd rather lock/unlock the car with just my key fob.
Hi. Thanks for checking in. If you have the smart key with you and you touch the indentation on the door handle it will lock. Placing your hand in the door handle it will unlock right before you open the door. You can disable the smart key system, but then you will need to use the mechanical key to open, lock and unlock the vehicle. Most people feel that it is safer to keep the key in your pocket or your bag so you don't have to take the time to handle the key in the door. I hope this helps.
First I have to say a HUGE thank you for doing these videos. They are the BEST! Can you answer a question for me? How do I set the radio to mute when I push the talk button for Siri? Thank you so much.
Thanks so much for reaching out. I’m sorry for the delay I have been out of the office for the holiday. Right now, Apple is not allowing the audio to mute or “duck” during voice commands, texting or navigation from the phone. It seems to only mute for phone calls. I’m experiencing this also, in my new NX. I have found two ways to deal with it, neither are a perfect solution. Here’s what I have found that works, in the meantime: 1. Turn the sound system off. This seems silly, but it is fast. Just press the radio power/volume button. Then give your commands and turn the sound system back on when you’re ready. 2. Press and HOLD the Mode button on the steering wheel to mute the audio before giving your command or pressing the Talk button on the steering wheel to give a command. If you have a HUD, then you will need to locate Mode in the HUD image. That means you may need to press the “Change” button on the lower left side of the steering wheel to “change” from the phone controls to the audio controls. Then highlight Mode and press and HOLD to mute the audio. Then you can use the talk button or wake phrase to use voice commands. When you are ready just press and HOLD Mode again to unmute. I hope this helps! Thanks again for reaching out.
Thanks so much, Marie. Unfortunately we don't have a good spot to demonstrate parallel parking in our area. I filed an example, but it just didn't look right since we don't have any parallel lines on our lot. It functions the same way as the perpendicular parking feature, but the car's position will show as Parallel on screen and the system will see the spot in the different orientation. Thanks again.
Hi Duncan, I've check the vehicle settings and the different Owner's Manuals for you and there is not an altimeter on the vehicle. Perhaps there is a compatible app in your phone that would work with your phone's assistant? That's the only other idea I was wondering about. Let me know if you find something. Thanks so much for tuning in with me!
Excellent tutorial! Thank you, my wife and I have put down a deposit on a 350h and we’re waiting on an allocation that fits our wants. I do have a question, my wife and I will be sharing the vehicle as it will be our only vehicle, is it possible for both of us to have access to the remote features within the app while having separate driver profiles?
Thanks so much, Matthew! Congratulations on your soon to arrive NX350h! That's wonderful! I have assisted a few couples now who share the NX as their only vehicle. Here's what I recommend to get the most out of it: 1. Each of you will need your own Lexus app sign in credentials to have separate profiles on the car . 2. Choose one of the credentials to be the Primary and that person will show as the Primary on the NX profile screen (only the Primary has access to Remote Connect features and subscription info. More on this in a moment.). Set up the Primary profile and link your selected key. 3. After you get the Primary setup on the NX, add the Secondary profile through the Manual Profile steps (click on the +person icon), make sure to then link their selected key. 4. Make sure ACC Customize is turned on (this will allow the car to recognize the key to sect the profile of the person in the "driver zone" and then connect to your phone for Apple CarPlay, etc.) (Settings > Vehicle Customize > Utility > ACC Customize > toggle to on) 5. In order to allow both people to operate the Remote Connect features, have the person who is the Secondary profile sign out of the Lexus App account and sign in with the credentials of the Primary profile. Then you will both see the Remote features. It is perfectly fine for you to both be signed in with the same credentials and still have separate profiles on the car. The car system will use the key and the BT signature of your phone to connect your profile once it is already linked to the car so you don't have to sign in and out all the time. (I hope this makes sense). OTHER TIPS: - Make sure to use the same PIN for both Lexus App accounts, just to simplify life. There are times you may need to select your profile on the car if it doesn't switch automatically, and you will need your PIN for that process. It is very fast and easy, but only if you know your PIN. - When setting up the Secondary Profile, make sure that you don't tell the system you want this new profile to be the Primary or it will kick out the Primary. However, when doing the Bluetooth and Apple CarPlay/Android Auto pairing steps and you are asked if this is your "primary device," you should click yes. They is asking if this is the primary phone for the profile you are registering. - Don't set up Driver Position Memory, Radio Favorites, etc. until you have your profiles in. (They will be saving to Guest mode and that won't help you when you are in your profile.) Then make sure you have the correct profile selected and make your customizations.
Hi Melissa! Your Deep Dive tutorials are so extremely helpful! I am a newer technology specialist and I have used all your tutorials! I have a question about the navigation, within settings there is an option to display the speed limit on the map. It is enabled, but I never see a speed limit show while driving. Do you know if the speed limit is supposed to show at all times on the navigation screen, or will it only display when I have a destination entered in? In your video the setting was also enabled but I did not see the speed limit show anywhere. I checked the digital manual and there is an example picture showing the speed limit on the right side while a destination is entered. The road sign assist feature is on and is working like normal. I was wondering if you have had any customers with the same question? Thank you!
Hi Danielle, Sorry for the delay! Thank you so much for tuning in with me. Congratulations on your new Technology Specialist position! It is a very rewarding job. You will help so many people! I'm really glad my videos are help you to learn the vehicles! That is so cool! I get a lot of questions about the speed limit signs on the map, on Enform and Interface vehicles. You definitely need to have the setting on for the map, Road Sign Assist turned on, Speed Limit Notification set to Visual or Audible and Visual. But I have noticed that if the camera doesn't catch the sign for some reason, it may not show it or may show the previously seen sign until it sees a new one. You should not have to have a destination in the system. I hope this helps! Thanks again for being here!
Hi...this is very very helpful....I have a question under the DISPLAY section of your video and then under CAMERA...there were color pallette that you didn't explain. What are those for? When you touch them nothing happens. Can you explain?
Hi Kena, Thanks so much for your question. I always think that graphic is confusing. It is just an example of what the screen looks like as you make the adjustments so you can't click on the colors, but as you adjust the brightness and contrast, you should see the changes on the graphic. I hope this makes sense. Thanks again for tuning in with me!
Hello and thank you from New Zealand, Melissa! I'm eagerly awaiting the arrival of my 500h F sport this month and your deep dive videos have been an amazing source of information. I'm curious if it's possible to set the cameras into a recording mode so they could operate on a similar manner to a dash cam. If there's any way of doing this I'd love to know and I'm sure a few other owners of the new platform would love to know it too
Thanks so much for tuning in and for your great question. The cameras do have some image capture capabilities, but it not accessible by the customer. When you set up your app and you accept the terms of service for the trials, you will see a consent for images to be used for improving mapping and safety features. I know images and data can also be used in court and there is a legal process for access. Lexus has released an official Lexus Dashcam very recently and you may want to ask your dealership if it will be available for install through your Parts department. That may be more of what you're looking for. I hoe this helps. Thanks again for being here!
Absolutely fantastic video, thank you! Can you tell me once you have set up your digital key? Can you operate and drive the vehicle without carrying the standard key? I just your mobile phone?, Thank you again.
Hi Mike. Get ready, I'm going to give you my Digital Key speech. LOL. Yes, once Digital Key is set up, basically your phone is your key, BUT, there is currently not an "offline mode." So if the phone or the car drops or loses cell signal, then the system may not operate. The owner's manual even recommends keeping an emergency key on you for the day-to-day driver, so to me I'm not a fan of using the system yet. We have a Guest who went out of the country, parked their car in covered parking at the air port, their phone was on a different network while traveling, so many issues with the cellular connection, and when they got back, the car would not recognize the phone for Digital Key. Not a good way to come home from a trip. At this time, I recommend only using Digital Key for additional drivers who are not the day-to-day driver. Perhaps a family member or friend who is borrowing the car. Share the Digital Key and then remove it when they are finished with the vehicle, without handing off a physical key fob. Lexus is working on an offline mode update that will allow the car to continue to recognize the phone as the digital key, even when the phone is not able to connect to a cellular signal. That will be a tremendous enhancement. I hope this helps to answer your question. Thanks very much for tuning in with me!
@@NorthsideLexus Wow and I'm so appreciative to have such a comprehensive reply! Thank you so much as this makes perfect sense and I completely agree with your recommendation. I just love your channel!! My new NX450h+ has been confirmed for build and I'm counting down the days. Another question from me; Is it ok to plug in a 450h+ every night and leave on the charger till morning so its likely its always charging to 100%? Again, I'm so impressed and appreciative that you take so much time to assist.😊
@@mikebedford4362 I'm so glad! Happy to help. It's ok to leave the NX450h+ plugged in, but I recommend scheduling your overnight charges if you have an adjustable rate for electricity in your area. And to help extend the hybrid battery life, you can set it up to start charging at a certain time or finish charging by a certain time. Level 2 charging will go by pretty quickly during the night, especially if you aren't driving a lot during the day. One really important thing is to leave the vehicle in Auto mode for switching between EV & HV. This will allow the gasoline engine to come on periodically which is good for the engine components, the fuel pump and helps to keep the fuel from going stale. It is so tempting to try to max out the EV range and then just drive on all electric as much as possible, but it is good to get that gasoline engine going periodically. There are some good videos about this on the Prius Prime from Toyota Technicians who have a lot of experience with PHEVs. I hope to be able to do a video about PHEVs at some point as well, but you will probably already have your NX450h+ by then. I make these in my spare time between my main job responsibilities so it can be slow for me to get them done. Very glad to hear that you are enjoying the content 👍
@@NorthsideLexus Really useful tip, Thanks. Hoping Lexus will implement a "offline mode." soon as then I won't even need keys as my house is fully automated too 😊
Can you make a tutorial for using automatic car wash? Like which setting needs to be turn off so it doesn’t freak out when going through the car wash. Much appreciated.
Hi Tran! That video idea is definitely on the list. Unfortunately with all of the vehicles coming out and my regular day to day responsibilities at the dealership, it may take me a long time to get it made for everyone. In the meantime, I would turn off: Auto wipers, PKSB and PKSA. That should make sure your wiper blades stay in good shape, your parking sensors don't ding like crazy and the car won't keep automatically stopping when it thinks the brushes are too close. I also, like to fold in my side mirrors. I hope this helps! Thanks very much for being here!
Thanks for these awesome tutorials. I have a question about Road Sign Assist. I have the non-hud gauge cluster. While I see the speed limit signs, and think I get the audible notifications, I don't see anything change visually. On our test drive, we drove one with the hud and the entire sign turned red, but nothing happens on the non-hud version. Is this normal? We have a 2025 NX 350h.
Hi! Thanks for being here! Sounds like only the audible alert is turned on. You should be able to select Visual and Audible for the notification type. Select Settings > Driving Assist > scroll down to the Notification > select Other Caution Options / Other Notifications > chose Visual & Audible. If that doesn't solve it, I would have a Technician drive with you to see if they can troubleshoot it further. Congrats on your new NX350h!
I've been waiting for this video. Thanks you. I think that predictive efficient driving feature is enabled for me out here in Canada without being visible. The reason why I say that is that I've been experiencing a weird behavior where the Nav system tells me to take the service road when there is medium to light traffic. I figured that it might be due to the fact that city driving is more efficient that highway driving on hybrid vehicles. No one at Lexus was able to confirm it though.
Wow! That is really interesting. I know there are some traffic rerouting customizations, but that would be really cool if the feature is on in the background to help also. I'll see if I can find out anything about it. I haven't been able to locate a lot of details, but hope to get more training when we start receiving our PHEVs since they use that feature as well. I'll make sure to share any scoop I get :) Thanks so much for being here!
Thanks so much! I'm sorry it is taking me so long to get caught up. We have been so busy at the dealership that my filming and editing schedule has been delayed. It is definitely on my to-do list!
Great job Melissa! Many thanks for both series of tutorial. Unfortunately Lexus does not treat US and European customers in the same way because our Lexus application ( called Lexus Link) provides no more than 10% of US one - so, furious with the Lexus, I can only watch it's functions. Greetings from Poland!
I'm so sorry the cellular and cloud data services are not applicable in your area. I only have access to vehicles and features made for the US market, since that is where I'm located, so I'm not familiar with the setup for other markets. Hopefully the videos are still helpful for you. Thanks very much for being here!
Hi Melissa. Many thanks for your excellent videos. I am in the UK and there is nothing to match them. I have just picked up a new NX 450H+ and love it. I have been happily using the adaptive cruise control but cannot understand how to set the speed limiter. The system just seems to revert to adaptive cruise control! Can you please explain how to set the speed limiter? Perhaps a short Tech Tip would help anyone else struggling with this. Or perhaps I'm just missing something simple. Thanks so much.
Hi! On the new NX, when you turn Cruise on it will automatically set the speed at the same time. So it will be set to what ever speed your vehicle is going. Adaptive Cruise is usually the default, but you can use the Mode feature to change to regular Constant Speed Cruise Control. You have the same controls to "Set" speed or increase, decrease, resume, depending on what mode you have and if you have HUD on your NX or not. I hope this helps. I love the idea of a Tech Tip on this one. Once I can get through the LS. RZ and TX, that is now on my list :)
thank you so much :) I've just bought nx recently, these two videos were super helpful :) just a little bit upset since being from europe is not the best thing for lexus owner... we have a completely different app and online services here...no mobile keys, remote. starting enging, lock/unlock... but I guess it still could probably be worse :D so thanks again!
Hi Honza, Thanks so much for tuning in. I'm sorry to hear not all of the features and services are available in Europe. Hopefully you will still really enjoy your NX. It is such an amazing vehicle!
Thanks so much for this. Was waiting for the Advance Parking feature. Can’t wait to see that and the hopefully the Lexus Teammate Driving Assistance system make it’s way to the ES and RX. One question though: I also thought there was an automatic parking that can be controlled using your phone app?
Hi! Thanks so much for tuning in! Unfortunately the Remote Park from the phone has has been delayed and Lexus announced they will not be releasing in for the 2022 NX. They are still planning to release it for future model years, but not this one. We aren't sure if it was a parts availability issue or if the feature was not performing as expected in testing. There have apparently been delays in multiple areas and Lexus doesn't want to release it until it is working as designed. I hope I'm able to film on an LS with Teammate at some point. It really seems amazing! Thanks again for being here!
@@NorthsideLexus Thanks so much for the update. Hopefully the remote park will be a cool feature that works soon and available in future models. Can’t wait to see the Teammate video tutorial in action.
Fantastic. Is it possible to get assistance for coming out of the garage? Our parking place in the basement has a 90-degree angle to come out or come in. So it is a little difficult to come out each time. I am wondering if there is any option to get help from NX.
Hi Aziz! Goodness that sounds like a tough place to park. If you have the 360 (panoramic) view monitor, make sure it is auto. It would be extremely helpful in a tight spot like that. best of luck with it. I hope you enjoy you new NX!
Hi Maurizio, Thank you so much for your comment and your patience while I researched this for you. I have looked at all view options for Favorites in the app and on the car and have even reached out to my Lexus contacts to make sure I wasn't missing something, and unfortunately, at the moment there is not a way to edit or add names for the Favorites in the Interface system. Needless to say, this has been reported to Lexus and requested for an update to the system. I don't have any information about their response, but I really hope they will get this added for everyone who uses the Drive Connect features. Thank you again for reaching out. If I hear about an update, I will definitely make a video tutorial for everyone!
So So Good! I have a question; If I'm driving, can my wife on her phone, (connected to the Lexus App), choose a map destination/ route and send it to the vehicle?
Hi! Yes, she can do that if she will sign in with your Lexus App credentials. Then her phone in the app will look like yours. It will not interfere with her additional driver profile if she has one. So no need to constantly sign out and back in, unless there is an update that might require it :)
I don't have a digital key downloaded but I was surprised I was able to unlock my door from the app when I was inside the house and car parked in the garage.
Hi! The Remote Connect feature (Lock - Start - Unlock) are separate from Digital Key. Even new vehicles that don't come with Digital Key are compatible for Remote Connect. As long as you have a free trial or a paid subscription for Remote Connect, you can start, lock and unlock your NX :)
As a person who reads every word of the owner's manual on the first day of ownership, these Deep Dive Tutorials are worlds better. Thank you again!!
Thanks very much, @A. Nona Mouse! I'm so glad you're enjoying the videos. Congratulations on your new NX!
Thank you so much! Congratulations on your new NX 350h! I'm very glad to get to help you learn all about it!
@@NorthsideLexus I just watched this and it was outstanding!

What model and color?Called dealer last week for a new NX fsport ! It will be coming in the end of the month! I am stoked presently driving a 2019 V wagon alltrack ! I thought about a hybrid but I maybe put on 5 to 8000 miles per year!
Absolutely excellent Mellisa. These videos make it easier than reading through the manual 10/10
Aww! Thank you so much for your support! I'm so glad you are enjoying the videos! ☺
Melissa you and your team are amazing, even though I didn't buy the NX from you and don't even live in the same country! Your videos are so helpful. As a community let's try to get her NX videos to the top!

You are so sweet! Thanks so much for being here! Congrats on your new NX450h+ 😊
Well Done, Lexus must give her award and bonus for her detailed video. I have not encountered dealer product specialist with the detail knowledge she has.
Thanks so much for your support! So glad to have you here!
You are so welcome! I'm so glad you are enjoying the tutorials!
The depth and breadth of your tutorial is just tremendous. Thank you for taking the time to do this. I'm sure many Lexus clients are grateful!
Thank you so much! I'm so glad it was helpful for you! Thanks for tuning in with me!

You’re the best!! I can’t even try to make a video on the NX. You do it so well. I send our guests to your videos all the time!
Wow, thank you so much @Skylar! It's so awesome to see you on here with me! Thanks as always for all of your support!
Great job!

Thank you so much for this amazing video! I purchased my NX about 8 weeks ago and your information is incredibly helpful!
I'm so glad to help you with your new NX! Congratulations!
In case the link doesn't work: This is what the Owner's Manual has:
Pull the lever. (Front windshield washer)
The front wipers and washers will operate.
Thanks again!
we just picked up our 450h+ on Wednesday May the 4th!! Its great that you did part 2, thank you for taking time to do this video!!
Thanks so much! Congratulations on your new NX! I'm so happy to help you make the most of it!👍 Thanks very much for tuning in with us!
Hi Melissa, just wanted to let you know that I received a new OTA update yesterday and it resolved all my issues. Thanks for all your help.
Happy to help! Congratulations on your new NX350h! I'm glad to get to help you learn all about it. Thanks very much for being here!

These two videos were so helpful! I can't wait to get my NX. Been stuck at the Long Beach port since 4/23 so hopefully it'll be here soon 😩
Hi Melissa, is it possible to have the Lexus map to show split screen with Lexus music, just like the CarPlay would do. Thank you.
I see you Melissa and keep doing ya thing. We appreciate ya!
Aww! Thank you so much for your amazingly supportive comment! I really appreciate you! You've made my day!
Thanks so much, Marie! I'm so glad it has been helpful for you! Thank you for tuning in with us!
I've been waiting for this! Thanks for updating!
Thanks so much for hanging in there with me! Hope you enjoy it!
Fantastic Job as Usual Melissa! So grateful for your hard work!
Thanks so much, Geoffrey! I couldn't do it without our super Lexus Inner Circle team and everything we are able to learn and troubleshoot together! ❤️ The best!
Hello 🙋♂️,are you going to do a deep dive on the LBX in the future?
Hi! If we get it in the US, I would love to!
You have made my day with your very thoughtful comment and support! Thanks very much! Congratulations on your new NX!
Thanks Melissa for your very informative videos. Much appreciated.
You are so welcome! Thanks very much for tuning in with me!
Owning one is super cool..Driving round here not seeing any lexus around here is super Xtra cool..😊
Congratulations! I can't wait until my lease is up. Super excited to get one!
Congrats on another awesome video. Very helpful.
Thanks so much for hopping over to the updated video, Alyssa! Glad you enjoyed it!
Yes! Thank you for doing this. Learning so much valuable info. These videos are really helping me to make the most of my new NX 💖
Yay! That is so awesome to hear! Congratulations on your new NX and thank you very much for tuning in to learn with us!🤓🥳
I’ll be getting my new F sport end of the month! I’ve watched this twice already! Are you happy with your NX!
@@samsacre That's awesome! Yes, it has been a dream!
Outstanding thank you! I wish Lexus would let you write the owners manual!
Thanks so much! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video! Me writing owners manual would be a hoot ;) LOL! Thanks again for being here!
Thanks for video tutorial- helps for new buyers
You bet! So glad to have you here!
Here’s what I have found that works, in the meantime:
I would have liked to see a demonstration of the parallel park assist feature. But great video. It was very helpful and informative
The best tutorial!
Thanks so much, Lorraine! I'm so glad you enjoyed it!
Hello Melissa. Just wondering if you have found an altimeter on the nav settings? Great videos.
Thanks so much. Love your videos, very helpful and informative!
You are so welcome! Thanks very much for watching, Brenton!
Here's what I recommend to get the most out of it:
4. Make sure ACC Customize is turned on (this will allow the car to recognize the key to sect the profile of the person in the "driver zone" and then connect to your phone for Apple CarPlay, etc.) (Settings > Vehicle Customize > Utility > ACC Customize > toggle to on)
OTHER TIPS:
- Make sure to use the same PIN for both Lexus App accounts, just to simplify life.
@@NorthsideLexus you are beyond helpful!! Thank you so much!! We are so excited and hopefully we will get an allocation soon!
really well done and informative, thanks!
You' re the best! Thanks so much for your support!
That’s lovely mate ❤

Great video. Thank you!
So glad you liked it! Thanks for being here! 😊
Hoping Lexus will implement a "offline mode." soon as then I won't even need keys as my house is fully automated too 😊
@@NorthsideLexus Sorry, another question from me; Is there an Owner's Manual in PDF format that I could read on my iPad?
Thank you so much for this video.. you are amazing
Thank you so much! I’m so glad you enjoyed the video! Thanks for tuning in with me!
Thanks so much. This was very helpful.
You're very welcome! Thanks so much for tuning in!
Can't wait for the NX 450h+ video!
Thank you for this video. I also would ask you how to rename the Favorites locations into the NX 2022 Lexus navigation system?
