Outstanding job... When you are doing the GX 550 deep dive a few items I see all the times on the forums are; How can you make the custom driving mode stick as we lose it whenever turning off the car, On the drivers display are the lower half gages on left and right able to be changed to anything we want as they appear to be locked, Why does only Apple carplay show turn by turn in the HUD and not Google Maps, when stopping is there any way to only have the rear camera show on the display? Currently only shows front camera and we are already looking ahead but a rear camera would have benefit. If not is there anyway to disable the feature entirely. Is there a trick to have the charging pad actually charge. Iphone 15 Pro Max with case on or off will not charge despite the light turning orange and lastly, on fuel it appears that fuel warning light comes on with no miles remaining at about 17 gallons used leaving another 3-4 gallons. Is there any way to adjust that to 19 gallons used, and can you confirm with Lexus when that 0 miles remaining light comes on how many gallons are, in fact, left?
In CarPlay it is an Apple product so it can convey the turn directions to the HUD. Google Maps or Waze cannot. The native Lexus map works in the HUD of course. It is a cousin to Google Maps. (Same database)
Thanks so much! I am working on the GX Deep Dive and will do my best to incorporate these details. To answer your questions though: 1. Custom Drive mode can not be programmed to stay on after the vehicle is turned off. 2. The 12.3" multi information display is highly customizable. Here's an example from the TX that also has that feature: 1:43:24 Customizable 12.3” Optional MID Basics 1:44:22 How to Change Meter Type for Layout 1:45:18 How Drive Mode Changes Color Theme (GX color themes are a little different) 1:45:52 How to Customize with Standard Steering Wheel 3. Apple only permits their proprietary map, Apple Maps to show in the MID & HUD just like the Lexus maps will. Any other third party apps will not carry over to those displays. They will just mirror from the phone to the main display. 4. The 360 View Monitor will show full 360 view. The backup camera view is only available in reverse and shows alongside the 360 image. If you don't want to use the View monitor then you can disable the Auto Mode. (With the GX in Drive, look for the camera icon in the menu bar on the left side of the display that has the letter A for auto. Click on that icon and you will see a slash mark. Now the auto mode it off. If you want to see the 360 view you will need to press the view button. 5. iPhones with the three large camera lenses that sit out side the the phone housing make wireless charging difficult on some charging pads, because the back of the phone where Apple has the wireless charging coil is not able to contact the pad for conductive charging. This is something that apple is working on, but it does not help those of us with the current phones, unfortunately. 6. Lexus always have a buffer of 2 or 3 gallons in the tank even when the reader says low or E. It is a safety precaution and it helps the fuel reservoir, fuel pump and vapor lock in the tank to all work as designed. It can not be changed or adjusted. Thanks for checking in!
Hi! The air bag warning lights appear on the dash. There is a status light for the SOS (Safety Connect System). Is that what you're seeing? It should be solid green when the car is on and you have an active trial or subscription for Safety Connect. It will be flashing green when you have an emergency call in progress, flashing red or red to green if there is something wrong with the connection, solid red with no subscription for the connection and no light at all when the DCM for SOS is off or no longer connected. I hope this helps.
Hi Melissa - wrong car but I am having audio problems with my 2024 Lexus RX35h. When using Carplay, the volume level does not mute when a phone call come sin...or if Siri is reading a text etc. In other words, volume levels don't adjust when something else is activated. Help!!!
Hi! Apple has programmed Siri to talk over everything except a phone call. Lexus is working on a fix to override this new operation of Siri and hopefully it will come in a future OTA soon. But phone calls should take over other audio. If your phone calls are not taking over then I would recommend bringing your car in to your Lexus Service department so they can check on it for you. There could be a phone setting that might be customized. Thanks for checking in.
I have been waiting for part 2. Thank you!
Thank you for hanging in there with me!

How does the airbag warning light above the SOS function work should it always be on, does it turn off if nobody’s in the passenger seat?
