That's an entrance... the man should be wearing a 👑 and dropping the mic!!!!! Favorite part when elvis looks at the audience says whoooow and nods his head... its like damn this is all for me!!!!!!!!! If I had a time machine... you best believe I'm hitting one of these shows... its like going to mecca. How is there not a statue of elvis the size of the statue of liberty in the las vegas strip... right now!?!?!? Its almost blasphemous there isn't one.
It’s actually a blasphemy if they build a statue. That would create an idolatry, people shouldn’t worship idols. It would only cause pain to Elvis’ soul literally. It’s why God almighty prohibited the creation of idols.
The quality of the film production on this show is on another level. Very few has done it as good. Scorsese was close with The Last Waltz but this one has top noch people in every step from directing, photographers, lights, sound and editing. The Last Waltz became great because of the band, and the band only. Scorsese winged it and it almost failed. He says it himself that even tho it looks great as a concert movie, he really didn`t know what he was doing. This on the other hand is so well planned before the shoot it had to be hell to kill all those "darlings" in the editing room. Every cut had to feel like a real cut to the heart for the editor.
This wasnt as good as the Last Waltz when comparing concert films. In fact the original version of TTWII is quite choppy with too many fan interviews mixed in. The 2002 updated version is way way better. This was a concert and because of the too many cuts... really didnt feel like one. Elvis was at his best here and the producers and directors of TTWII should have kept it more in the true tradition of a concert documentary. There was too much fluff in the original version and not enough meat. Why did they leave out huge chunks of Elvis rehearsing and instead substituted some ham & eggers talking about their concert experience in Las Vegas? Made no sense
This is when the genius of Elvis Presley came together to make his legendary status beyond iconic: Let's break down his arrangement: 1. He took this blues standard and made it rockabilly in 1954 2. Added the vocal groups to get the sound of the choirs he had in his head from church 3. Pumped up the tempo to what was in him that he found in those gospel celebrations and religious revival meetings he snuck into as a kid 4. Added a full 30 piece orchestra bringing his classical music influences 5. Put together a front line of a rock band in Jerry Scheff, Ronnie Tutt, James Burton, and James Wilkerson that could play so fast you wondered how they did it That was all from the mind of Elvis himself. He didn't write songs. But he invented a whole new arrangement of them that no one ever dreamed of.
@@emilymathews7073 I can’t help but feel ashamed of how he was treated in his final years. Treated like a prized goat, draining him, and draining him, and pumping him with drugs to keep him going, just to drain him more. His manager has a place in Hell reserved just for him.
POV: you came here after watching Elvis the movie. It’s crazy how much Austin Butler nailed it.

Austin Butler got everything on point throughout the entire movie.

@beesea105 yes Austin captured Elvis in a way that no one else has ever managed to do in the past. He was perfect!
