3dEx is the best youtube channel, 3dEx is not only a good mentoring youtube channel but also an amazing inspiration. I have been teaching computer graphics, especially 3D modeling, and animation for the last 20 years, but 3dEx inspired me to create my own youtube channel about 3D modeling and Animation and doing something unique to help the community. Currently, I am enjoying watching my channel growing and I am loving this process of teaching and learning. Respect to the best 3dEx.
Was literally about to do some 3D as I saw this. Gonna watch this first to be inspired. Seriously I love your variation and style :) You have so many different objects! It's cool to see an advanced process on making these things :) And YOU may not think ur advanced, but getting these shapes perfectly is pretty high skill level!
Great video! The only thing I would have liked to have seen is for the glass bottles to have thickness. They look a bit fragile. Thank you for sharing 🙏
Is it possible that you could make a tutorial on how you make the substance itself but then use it for painter? I noticed u make a lot of stylized substances but I dont think i've ever seen you actually use them on either a model or in painter. I'm trying to solve my workflow and it'd be cool to see what others do
@@3dextrude Yeah! I watched a ton of your tutorials on how to make wood planks or walls or bricks and I was trying to think about how I'd apply this into a workflow for props. The two solutions I had thought was either A) trying to use it in painter B) making an atlas with them in substance designer and then fitting props to that. I'm trying to aim to help performance by batching when I can but its been hard to figure out the best workflow for quality / speed. Issues I feel with atlas and multiple props is that you likely don't get stuff like edge mask like coloration and things *so u either need the extra bevel geometry or find some alternative work around... or just ignore it* With painter u can paint per object (and I believe paint for multiple) however how you'd apply a substance designer material was something I was curious was possible to do. (I mean I think I did it once before a long time ago but I was more thinking if its worth doing in a practical sense.) Anyway thanks for the amazing tutorials and for taking the time to read my comment.
Question, why not use the Ai standard surface on everything before exporting things to substance? I was taught to use it for everything including glass things so I'm curious to know if there's a difference
Hey @3dEx! First off, great videos! Really love your work. I was wondering how you are presenting your models when they are finished? I.e. do you have a specific scene for it in Maya where you render it, or are you perhaps using a specific software for this? :) I really want to know so I can better present the work I am doing.
@@3dextrude Thank you very much for the info :) I have been looking for a software like that. And once again, thank you for your inspirational and educational videos!
sir, when i select all things and i export selections to substance painter, why in substance painter all the uv cannot be shown? just only show some part of uv, but i already selected all things
Probably means your model has many materials applied. Painter splits the model based on materials applied. If you want everything in one, apply one material to the whole model before exporting
3dEx but how to apply one material to the whole model? Do I need to change my glass bottle material? If I change, how to make a bottle to be transparent? thank you sir
Any chance you might do just one in real time for us please? I struggle with taking the finished model in Maya exporting it correctly to Zbrush and then on to Substance Painter, there are always things that go wrong.
It nice but I feel this glass bottle is still something not right, it have opacity and refection, but it dont have refraction and thickness, when i watch a bottle at real life it have a deep dark green color at rim, it have a thickness
Correct, you would need to render in a raytracing renderer and adjust there to be able to get a more realistic result; won't really be able to preview that with Painter.

Thank you Lenny!
Amazing work! Love the style.

Good modelling videos since your opening day of the channel.and also your bronchiosaurus modelling it is very good it is exact what I think.
Awesome! Glad you remember that one :)

You mean the Designer materials? I mainly use them for things like grounds and walls, but I might look into using them for things like props as well.

Loving the quick tutorial! Also, how did u share the uv map/layout for several obj like your milk glass?
It's the same object duplicated so it shares the same uv map space and texture
Awesome stuff as always! Could you please link to the script you are using to automatically soften/harden edges? Thanks again :)
Is it: www.artstation.com/marketplace/p/L5K6/auto-smoothing-groups-for-maya
Yes, that's the one

I am not rendering in Maya or any Arnold renderer so it's not necessary. I use marmoset toolbag for the renders.
Hey 3dex I noticed in your videos you use a shortcut to toggle between Marque and drag. Is it a custom hotkey?
Hold down Tab to temporarily enable drag , it's not custom, default.

I have a render template I use for marmoset toolbag

I made a video a while ago which might help: ruclips.net/video/fjNkts56t3A/видео.html

3d Ex, what´s the plugin you use for automatic smoothing groups?
gumroad.com/l/AutoSG

What screen resolution do you have?
1920x1080

I want to purchase realtime speed tutorial..!
Use you you tube speed settings))
There will be real time tutorials in the future.

but glass is absolutly
transparent. it disappeared
You have to play with the settings so that it's reflective enough.
Is it only me or not, but you cant grab that carrier and its so strange
a bit in between the bottles so would be uncomfortable, that's a good point though
