Amen, while I listened to this podcast, I felt led to share my testimony, and I pray it will be encouraging and uplifting to someone else reading. About 8 years ago is when I started longing for a true friend, i was quite young when it came to discerning, but even at such a young age, our Heavenly Father was upon me to see that certain things kids would say or do weren't of Him. Now I would spend nights crying and praying for a true friendship and even had my own mom and dad sorrowful for me because how much I sorrowed, and when I started to commit myself to our King, I saw a difference in myself, even though I still had that desire to share His word with someone my age that is like minded, I prayed that whatever He leads me to allow me to glorify Him. Now after 8 years....I now have a best friend and a Sister in Christ. And with me saying this, if there be any that is in a similar situation when it comes to true fellowship, have patience, and direct your focus on our Great God, if it be His will He will make it happen. John Piper gives a good description of friendship between Christians. But the Bible also refers to lower levels of friendship, between Christians and non-Christians. In Acts 19:31 we are told that Paul had friends who were provincial officials of the Roman province of Asia. There is no doubt that these people were not Christians and that they were heavily into idolatry. The city of Ephesus in the province of Asia was where one of the 7 wonders of the ancient world was located, i.e., the temple of Artemis/Diana. It would have been impossible to be a provincial official there without supporting this idolatrous temple. There is no doubt that these people wouldn't have been CLOSE friends of Paul, but the Bible does describe them as his friends.
I used to think "a brother is born for adversity" meant they were born to fight each other, which is why siblings fight haha. Jesus lives! ♥️ and is God 🙏🏻 Christ ✝️ and King 👑
