Fall back EST Nov 5th!!!
Still have 1/2 a bag from last year! Might get another bag!
Great product. Ever considered single use package of fire starter wrapped in a firewood bundle, along with OWTM matches? Ready to go campfire.
@@BCDanno63I think you know why so many people love this channel you are a great person and you’re wife is unreal so much energy I’m 61 I love all the things you do I’ve done it and respect it
Day light saving time! November 5th
I have a feeling Mike's stone truck load count is about to increase dramatically for those that are counting.
Yep, I figured bout 417 tons for the year when he said he had a challenge on how much he would have at years end, well I feel I'll be a little short now in my calculation! LOL
Great video Mike & Melissa. It's so nice. To see Melissa in the excavator. I'm a firm believer letting women try any type of job. Women most often do a better job. ( Sorry men.) Women are better thinkers too. I used to be a fan of The Oprah Winfrey Show. She had a male X ray technician of 40 yrs. He saw & said: Women use a 1/3 more brain activity than men. I said: Yes! I knew it! I'm not crazy! 😮😮😮😊😉👍👏👏👏👏 How I know this? It's one of my personal mysteries. About being in crowds. I agree. All my life & my family. Have avoided crowds. Any crowds. I agree about the new road's width. 20 feet or better. Any downed trees have to be dealt with. Thanks Mike & Melissa. Say hi to Hunter and Eva. 😍😊😉👍❤️💜🙏 Flowers for Melissa and Eva. ⚘️⚘️
Mike, I'm with you on the "crowd" thing. The older I get the more I'm content with just family and the outdoors.
I feel exactly the same. I used to watch sportsball but now I couldn't care less.
Yep crowds suck! Crime, crazy people and maroons! I'll take horse's,Dogs, Chickens,Deer and clean air! Nice fat cigar and sum whiskey baby
I agree with you totally Mike
Mike, I agree with you on crowds and sports.
I still “take my gun for a walk“ a few days during deer season, but I haven’t taken a deer for 25 years. I carry a folding chair and just enjoy being out in nature. Last year I had a bobcat walk within seven yards of me. What a beautiful animal and a enjoyable experience.
Here is a warning for anyone who is contemplating going in the hospital. I had a heart attack Monday evening and after some new stents, I was discharged on Thursday afternoon. Friday I tested positive for Covid.
That is exactly why I had ignored some earlier symptoms of a heart issue. Don’t go into the hospital unless it is absolutely necessary!
Don't Play with Your Heart Brotha. You did the right Thing. Glad You are Still with Us 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾.
Don’t worry about Covid - it’s no big deal, everyone needs to get it and get antibodies because it’s here to stay
Really enjoyed seeing both of you working together and having fun at it. Machines sure do come in handy one of your best yet.
About sporting events and crowds -- I went to school at UNC - Chapel Hill in the '70s for 3 years. Didn't finish up there; found too many things to do besides go to class, do homework, show up for exams, y'know. It was the '70s, the partying-and-women-chasing calendar didn't allow for that stuff. Studying and completing degrees, etc. came later on at East Carolina U. in Greenville, once I grew up some. But I've always been a Tar Heel basketball fan. Well, in April 1993 Carolina played Michigan for the national championship. Back then I was still drinking, and my buddy & I decided to drive up to C.H. that night and watch the game at the bar where I used to hang out when I was in school there. UNC won, and when it was over Jeff & I were some of the first people to run out onto Franklin St., the main drag in Chapel Hill. It quickly turned into a madhouse free-for-all. People had bonfires going in the middle of the street within minutes, and then people started pushing. I was in the crowd near one of the bonfires, and the next thing you know the crowd was pushing me (and a few others) into it! Not on purpose, but still it was happening. I'm 6'1", weighed maybe 180 lbs at the time, not a small guy or weak, but it didn't matter. That mass of humanity kept pushing and I was yelling at the top of my lungs for them to stop, before I got burned alive. Finally they did, at the last second. I told Jeff, "Let's move over to the edge of the street, away from these fires and these people-pushing idiots, where the storefronts are all that's behind us! Screw this mess!"
That night cured me of wanting to participate in any after-the-game crowd madness. Permanently, completely. Of wanting to be in the middle of big elbow-to-elbow crowds, period, for that matter. I don't drink any more either, for a bunch of reasons.
As they say, when you love what you do, you'll never work a day in your life. I so understand your feeling about crowds vs doing what you love. I was fortunate enough to make a living doing what I love, music. Now in the age of youtube I get to not only make the music but music vids as well. I'd so much rather be here where I have "retired" lol, doing what I love vs chasing a seat in some big venue fighting the crowds. Love your channel! Oh, and for 20 G to run power?, I'd be putting in a solar system for half that. The new technology in that area is amazing now and the panels take up half the space for the same amount of power that they use to.
Raising your kids within an outdoor environment with an outdoors mindset is priceless. There are a lot of screwed up kids out there, the outdoor kids aren’t among them.
Mike, the cost to add primary electrical overhead power about 1 mile in on property varies depending on a number of factors, including the terrain, the number of poles needed, and the electrical company's rates. However, as a rough estimate, you can expect to pay between $40,000 and $80,000 per mile.
Here are some of the factors that can affect the cost of adding primary electrical overhead power:
- Terrain: If the terrain is difficult to access or requires a lot of clearing, the cost will be higher.
- Number of poles: The number of poles needed will depend on the length of the power line and the distance between existing poles.
- Electrical company's rates: Electrical companies vary in their rates for installing new power lines.
- To get an accurate estimate of the cost to add primary electrical overhead power to your property, contact your local electrical
company.
Another Pennsylvania youtuber (Diesel Creek) buried his own conduit, roughly 2800' and his electric company was trying to charge him 50k to pull the wire and install a transformer.
@@jccorder1 - Yeah, sounds about right. Underground is a lot more expensive then going overhead. Installing the buried conduit is the least expensive part of the entire project (grunt work).
I’m surprised Melissa waited this long. A little practice and she’ll get more and more efficient. Can’t imagine the projects she’ll come up with on her own
Katie bar the door!
Yeah she can finally dig her own pool.
MIKE at the 17 to 21min mark when moving stumps, the video editing is just incredible!
Music change in sync with skid steer to excavator to skid steer. That's nuts how you can do that. Really makes your videos shine!
🤠 I agree with the appropriateness of the music tracks. At times, I have even wondered about the sources of the instrumentals. The sound track is often as important as the visuals in making the videos enjoyable.
As we move through the fall into winter, PRAYing!... for safety in the woods, for family gatherings, for travelers, for health of friends, family, and communities... 🙏🙏🙏
@@charlessabinjr7661 Mike puts effort into everything he does and it shows, just wonder how many others look at the attention to detail he has producing them, and not just the content itself.
I have enjoyed the music playing on this and several of the videos and wondering if it is a single track or a collection/album that can be downloaded or found on music apps.
Time changes back Sunday Nov 5th at 2:00 AM.
I think you're right Mike, it makes it better if you clean the property as you go. Looks so much better, boy the leaves are changing fast there. It's that time of year though. I was just thinking as I was watching this video, it looks very dry there. Keep up the great work guys, God bless!
The clearing is coming along nice. I was wondering if getting a set of rear forks for the MX would help as it looks like you will be hauling a lot of totes and hauling two (front and back) at a time may save a lot of time.
Man, I love that root rake grapple for the mini! That would be awesome to take down trees and remove stumps with! Excellent operator Mike!
Time changes Sunday Nov 5th at 2:00 Am, per Google.
Mike, I’m with you on the sports and crowd thing. I could care less. The traffic, the crowds, absolutely hate it. I have been trying to get my wife to run the excavator also, but she hates it. Sure is nice when you can just run the saw. Good luck with the road.
Put a few wraps of shrink wrap around the top of the totes to secure the load. Great progress on the project.
Ah, I'd love to wear a rainbow every day
And tell the world that everything's okay
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back
'Til things are brighter, I'm the man in black....JOHNNY CASH
Love your channel, and that you like Country music.
Me too😊
Melissa, I dub thee, "Countess of Kubota in the Kingdom of Morgan." Mike, that new road will be spectacular when finished. Maybe a medium "lift" of stone to survive the muddy season? Are you able to cut and process 6 cords a day? Just imagine the wood piles if you are able to perform that feat with 2 more helpers.
That's the second time she's mentioned clearing the trails...on camera!
she has a to do list and Mikes not doing it... expect it being mentioned again if he hasn't done it in the next video.... you'd think he'd know by now eh... once is a Notice,2nd is i'm gonna get mad, and 3rd time thats it ,husband privileges are revoked... = one unhappy mike 🤣🤣
@@gsyguy1unless, of course, she decides to hijack his equipment and clear the trails herself. He won’t like how she did it and will get right on it next time she mentions it. 😂
another great video, and despite many Americans' aversion to having to “spring forward” and “fall back” each year, all signs point to continued twice-yearly clock changes. No major legislative changes to daylight saving time (DST) have been enacted yet in 2023, so clocks will fall back on Sunday, November 5
That's at least the third time she told you about the trails, so maybe you should do it 😮
Ordered our firestarter yesterday. We absolutely will not use anything else! Couldn't be more pleased! Thanks from North Central Arkansas. God bless you guys and stay safe!
I'm exacly like you, no crowds and the great outdoors doing firewood. Cant5 get any better!!!!!!
You may want to check prices on setting up a little solar station. It may be less expensive than running wire? ❤
My daughter and I like to go to Pennsylvania Renaissance Faire in the pouring rain like yesterday. We get to meet more people on rainy days because she and I work hard to lift people's spirits.
Great video Mike and Melissa, Melissa is getting pretty good on the excavator, a great help i'm sure. Have a day!! Jay from Pa.
You guys make a good team! Thank you for your great wittiness. KC Don 😉
I admire the way you make your fun earn you a living. More power to ya!
Back in 1984, I took my old Guatemalan roommate from college, to the big rival game Carolina vs. Maryland. He had never been to any large sports event before. He and had an absolute blast. What surprised him the most, and what he thought was so ironic, everybody was talking to everyone, everybody was laughing and drinking, but no one was watching the game! He just couldn't understand why all of these people game to a game they didn't even watch.
Speaking of forgetting things, The best video you guys ever post was the one where Melissa, Eva, and you Mike, all had to answer these questions about each other. Absolutely the best video. Next up are questions and answers from Hanna, Levi, Melissa, and you Mike. Maybe when you all gather for the holidays. I think that would be a real hoot. Anyway, just my 2 cents.
Thanks for sharing. Alan from NC.
P.S. I can't get over how dry the soil is in the new clearing. I would have though, having been in middle of the woods, the soil would have looked darker, more fertile. Maybe the dryness of the soil is deceiving.
FYI - According to Google: "No major legislative changes to daylight saving time (DST) have been enacted yet in 2023, so clocks will fall back on Sunday, November 5." I thought the same as you guys, that we were done messing with the clocks in the fall and spring. Anyway, I guess the folks in DC are addressing more important matters than Daylight Savings Time. We certainly hope so.
We are suppose to turn our clock back November 7. I wish we would leave the time alone. You are doing an excellent job o the clearing. Mississippi is so try that the entire state is on a fire ban. Stay safe and have fun
1000 feet of 20 ft wide road through the woods! Man can you imagine what our ancestors went through, with a brush axe, misery whip, pic axe, and a team of mules? That would take a year, you could do it in a week if you wanted to. 👍🏻👍🏻
I live near penn state the stadium is around 13 miles from me and it brings a lot of people into town but I’m with you mike i would rather be home on my own 10 acres doing outdoor stuff
Melissa is methodical lol which is a good thing...I've only been to one PSU game once was enough it is a show in itself...people arrive on Wednesday for a game on Sunday...they have parking lots for those million dollar motor homes and yes big screen tvs and tables of elaborate food...its worth seeing once...
I think Luke Bryant was here twice this year or him and a different male entertainer and the people especially the women young and old get all gussied up in blue jeans & boots and their HATS...
A couple winters back during a snow storm you were digging out your road your moms road and sister's road...that cab came in handy...your neighbor not Cliff was doing his without a cab on his tractor...big guy who said he likes being out in the elements...God bless him if he only knew what he is missing 36:00
Melissa, with that dew rag on her head, from a distance looks like Axl Rose 🌹
Mike, your feelings on big crowds I share with you, 76 years and been that way for the last 47 since coming out of military. There is no order to them and unruly. Happy daughter Eva shares you feeling on them too. Yes to Melissa runing the excavator, 😉 😉she will get it in time and doing well now. Keep on getting it Melissa, you will do great. The road will take alittle time but your vision of it - wanna see it done. 😀
We also need rain in the worst way here in Southern Indiana. I’ve tried rain dances and everything….yet, no rain.
Sunday November the 5th, Clocks go back
👋 Mike & Melissa, God bless you & yours, & America 🇺🇸. R.I. about same temps as you. Leaves are turning slowly. Mike, you lucky man- very pretty apprentice--good cook too 😉 p.s. another 🏆 great video 📹 ❤
I like when you have someone to follow you with the camera.
Yes, we will still have daylight savings time this year. Set your clock back one hour on November 5th
I hope that I am not repeating myself too much - I hope you consider one of those new snail shell shaped wind turbines for power at the clearing. I see the trees moving in the wind. Put it up on a pole. Probably 1/3 the cost of running wire out there unless you hang it in the trees and probably all the power you need out there. Yeah you probably need a battery too.
I’d love to add a mini to the operation one day. I have found though that when Rachel starts running a machine I tend to lose a lot of seat time whether it be the tractor, log splitter, etc.
Yes guys… we will still fall back this November. It was not made a law yet I’m one that likes to fall back. I look forward to it every year!
As of now we will still change time in November. Enjoy your videos. Keep ‘em coming. What happened to ( Morgan’s off the leash) haven’t seen anything lately. 😢😢😢
Mike one of the important points from todays conversation with the excavator operator was....That your daughter Eva wanted to share her experience with her parents! Family LOVE at its best!
I live in northeast Wisconsin and the Packers put on a free concert at Lambeau Field parking lot last night. Collective Soul and Stone Temple Pilots. I would have loved to go but unfortunately hurt my back and didn't feel like leaving the house. The Pack go all out for their home opener.
As you talked about life styles I found myself nodding my head in agreement. I find most folks in this amazing firewood community think the same way. See you at Bunyan!
Mike, you have the right equipment to tackle that road. The excavator is the tool for the job followed up with the skid steer. Cant wait for future vids!
Mike, great work on the new road to the future 🪵park, all Melissa needed to do was have her hair in pigtails and she could be Willie Nelson for Halloween 🎃 lol also Rome wasn’t built in a day the road is gonna take some time ❤😊😮
No matter what you are into, someone thinks it is ridiculous and doesn't get it. Not one complaint with the fire starter, WOW! People complain about EVERYTHING!! That is impressive MIKE!!!! Great job. I still smell WOOD PROCESSOR.
Thanks
Everyone should attend a college football game at a large school just once to see how crazy and passionate these people are! Had kids at Florida State, Purdue and Minnesota so attended a few nutty games.
GOOOOOOOOD
SUNDAY MORNING EVERYONE OUT THERE TO ALL MY FELLOW OWTM FANS, FRIENDS & FOLLOWERS!!!….Thanks for the fire starter!!! Looking forward to some apparel next 😁😁
Nice staaaaaht on the road Mike. Nice camera work Melissa.
Catch yinz on the next one
Have a day
Hello Hunter 😊
Morning
I love the fire starter so much that I just sent a 4lb bag to my RUclips friend Steve Summers. I believe there is a bill in Congress for the time change, but i dont think it has passed yet. Does anyone in chat know if it passed? Ron CT
So nice to see Youse enjoying the fruits of Yor labor. Being one of five children to older parents that lived through the depression. We didn't know the difference between venison and roast beef. And always fresh vegetables from Our victory garden! I did 1800' of under ground primary cable. With a rented subcompact tractor with a backhoe. It was just under 10000.00 That was in 1994 for a name brand cable and 2 transformer vaults. And had to deed a right of way to the power power company. The convince is worth the out lay. I'm enjoying Your videos beings back so many memories of Our younger years! Matt at Diesel Creek just put in an underground power line to His dream garage.
That's the way to cut wood, that has to be really nice to be able to have the logs at comfortable height for cutting, a real back saver. I also don't have a big desire to go to big crowd events.😊
Hello both, looking great, re Malissa’s question, time change occurs on the last Sunday in October at 02:00,………PS that’s in the UK @ Greenwich
Clocks will fall back on November 5th.
I think all of the followers agree that this production has all the elements of success. The Rexcavator is a kinder gentler trainer yet when unleashed, rips stumps apart! Melissa, it’s nice to see you at the controls. Great video M&M so please takes us along on the road project.
Daylight savings time starts on Nov 5, this year. Several states have a mix of Standard and Daylight time.
I love Melissa’s man in black look. She’s a tough one. I’m with you Mike, I do not prefer to go to big events but I do like WVU games. I did go to a bull riding event in Fairfax VA last night which was really cool.
Thank you
Have you considered building some sort of wood bunker for out on the clearing project in addition to the wood shed?
You could run the wolf ridge out and split into it and either stack into the shed (as time permits) or leave it for bulk deliveries etc..
Also, it may serve to split outright and chunk a stockpile (as much of both as possible) in the clearing while the weather is nice and before the uncertainty of sloppy/non-frozen ground days that prevents down tree retrieval and heavy equipment use.
I can see and enjoy a game a lot better in the comfort of my own home. I also don`t like crowds. Indiana falls back Nov. 5th
We are 2" of rain below normal but I must say im enjoying it being dry because im moving dirt building a pad for our new home. That's great Melissa operating the excavator to help you out!.
I've Got to get myself some equipment like yours it looks like to much fun and I'm missing out. Had a Case 580 Backhoe years ago and made a HUGE mistake and sold it and have kicked myself ever since for doing so. They aren't quite as nice as the Mini Excavators but back then the Mini's weren't as available as they are today, really miss that backhoe.
Am I supposed to be feeling this excited about invisioning the future videos of the building of this road..? 😅 cuz I am..
I heard yesterday, there is a recall on the Battery Powered STIHL CHAIN SAWS
Mike, Thank You, Thank You. Have a Bobcat E-50 Mini Excavator. When I need to disconnect the thumb to put the bush hog on and shut the machine down the hydraulic system does not release and at 76 I don't have the muscle left to force the couplings. Saw your video with the XBOOM Coupler. Ordered one and it worked great the other day. Now my neighbor Chris has ordered one for his equipment. They need to give you at least one sponsorship video. Really enjoy watching your channel and often pick up some pointers for around our property.
Mike, It just occurred to me that just before you seed the area you are in the process of clearing, perhaps hiring a ruckus rake for the skid steer would greatly assist in clearing out roots and branches, before the seeding starts. Regards Robin.
Diesel Creek just ran 2400’ of power to his new shop.
He estimated about $50k when complete.Conduit alone was $12k. I believe he is in Pennsylvania as well.
Indy time falls back 1 hour on November 5th. I thought they were stopping the time change but I guess not.
Switch to standard time is November 5th. Our great politicians have not passed the bill on staying on standard time. Their more concerned about casual dress during sessions
Great video Mike and Melissa, the meadow and new road are looking good and it's great seeing you all getting into fall. Hope the girls and everyone stays safe through the bad rains they are experiencing. Take care and keep up the great videos around there. Fred.
Now that's the "A Team" ... the skid steer with the grapple and the excavator with the claw are just the perfect team for clearing that area!
Mike did you realize at 6:10 in this video you had a pumpkin cameo from the saw? I can't not see it... must be fall.
I'm even more surprised you couldn't recall the name since it's the same as yours! Lol 😆 I went to some of the best rock and country concerts on the planet when I was young. Now I can hardly stand the crowd at the grocery store. 🤣
Daylight savings time ends 11/5/23
Turn clocks back one hour.
Daylight Saving Time will end on November 5, 2023, at 2 a.m. in the United States.
Never herd of the singer shows how much I pay attention about singers. We need the rain also here in middle Tennessee. Went to the Dr. this morning it sprinkled on my truck which I don't drive in the rain if I can help it. Sat and played games on my phone until someone showed up looked up and looked like someone sprayed the windshield. Have a GMC 2019 with 10k miles, told you it don't go out much.
I'd rather sit here in my recliner and watch Outdoors With The Morgans, than sit out in the cold watching a ball game! Me in Oregon
11:50 Ha ha, I can't believe you forgot MORGAN Whalen's name. How funny! 😅. On another note, it does go a lot better/easier with help. Even the videos are more interesting with a camera man/person.
clocks will fall back on Sunday, November 5.
my favorite wine. said in a hi pitch squeaky voice... "I want to go to Florida!!!"
That clearing is looking good. It was good seeing Melissa on the excavator. She does a good job. It will be nice when you get that road in. Cool video. 👍❤️
Just checked we still change the clocks this fall. The folks in d.c appear not to have put together the legislative to stop changing the clocks yet
day light savings time ends November 5th.
M&M you are so my neighborhood, it's like I'm standing there with you chatting it up. Relatable is what you are. We have finished harvest and will coast for twoweeks before starting the work over.
Central California watching
Mike, found this on the internet so You know it must be true:
"Daylight Saving Time (DST) is not permanent in the United States. It is a seasonal practice that involves setting the clock forward by one hour during the warmer months and setting it back by one hour during the colder months. The purpose of DST is to make better use of daylight and conserve energy. Therefore, DST will not be permanent in 2023."
I’m ready for the fall, it’s gonna be 90 degrees here again today hopefully just a few more weeks!
Diesel Creek just ran conduit 2500' just the PVC cost him $12k, then he got a quote from PA Power, to run power 2500' - $52k. I know he is in Western PA, not sure how far from you he is but, he just made a few videos on this subject.
Good afternoon from Upstate South Carolina. Hey Mike, how about taking a 10" cherry log and cutting 1" slices at a 45° angle and offering them for sale as cutting or charcuterie boards?
Nice work Melissa. Have another productive day.
Can't get away from road building! It's in the blood. Gonna be using any dynomite? LOL Gonna need more stone. Love your channel.
High school football games in the south are packed. Both my daughter graduated from Georgia they dont miss a game. Go Dawgs!
Mike, I'm with you. Give me a nice quiet woods, or a lake shore with my fishing rod. I'll take a nice evening with my wife, over any game or concert.
Great to share your plans Going to take a while to get the roadway Can’t believe how dry the earth is
I’ve never been a huge sports fan as you can’t see the point After all It’s only a game 🤷♂️🤷♂️
Great video 👍👍👍
To Melissa, we fall back on NOV 5TH
Firestarter already sold out. I didn't realize that Cliff and Jeanie lived that close to you!
Been there with the blank-outs with name and the like and at 69++ YOA it has only gotten worse. So kudos for trying to remember. Stay young and if you don't get you are certainly not alone.
