Bro, drinking water and being happy or drowsy?
Have you even been around ppl on opiates?
How bout nodding off in the middle of a sentence, constant itching, esp the nose itch, pinned pupils, vocal fry, and always bein broke. Those the real top 5 ✌🏼

He didn’t say that they were top 5. What you described is people either on hardcore opioids like fentanyl/heroin.
I was hook on pharma for a while and I very rarely nodded off, yes I would often feel sort of sleepy but rarely did I nod off and in the first year it was like dude said. I just felt so happy and like I could just go out and do thing so he’s not wrong

Yep, nodding off mid sentence and slow slurred speech, needlepoint eyes, the raspy voice, itching their legs and face. Touching and itching the face Especially the nose area. Another thing you can look for is their withdrawal symptoms like getting irritated super easy and throwing up when not sick otherwise, having cold sweats, not wanting to get out of bed and staying in the dark all day. You can look for signs of abuse even when they aren’t high, if they abuse them. The withdrawals will be noticeable

You are so blessed. And I give gratitude also everyday. One thing I want to mention if I may. When someone is on opioids or addicted to another drug, they have these big major drama stories that are in no way true, but they are looking for something. That's something maybe attention or they may want you to offer some money or they may want you to offer whatever you may have in your medicine cabinet but I mean the stories they want to sit and tell you are outrageous. The next day they don't even remember what that story was. I hope someone can relate to what I'm saying without going into specific detail. Anyway sending a prayer upstairs for all who need it, and if you're struggling oh, I never thought at that time I could get through it but I did. And life does not become fun within a week or a month or six months without the drugs or alcohol. But please listen, it does get better. Keep up the good fight for a sober life and you can find true happiness and peace in your heart. I did. I struggle with severe depression all my life and I make sure I take my psych meds every single day. And that's it. No more self-medicating because you know what? God is good and I smile when I wake up. Blessings to you all and Happy Father's Day for anyone who may be reading.

That's not exactly true i mean opiates doesn't suddenly turn me into a liar.
Yeah you have some whacked out people who tell lies and stuff but really that's more of a personal thing with who those people are and how they react to drugs.
An honest person high on opiates doesn't suddenly become a dishonest person. Really.

    • @OzarkGiGi
      @OzarkGiGi Год назад

@@RobotronSageI think you're absolutely right but I didn't want to make a longer text. In my experience, the stories and drama came when they were running out of there opiates. Knowing that I had a script at the time, it was like they would come over and have these big blasted stories about whatever wanting me to OfferUp just five or six pills to get them through... I didn't mean to sound like their high and come up with a bunch of bull, rather, needing that drug again and knowing I had it, the tales they told me were like life endangered... (Says her husband was going to commit suicide because of all his pain if he didn't find relief), kind of thing. That's what I was trying to say. By the way, I did not give my drugs or money to her, her husband is fine to this day. She doesn't talk to me anymore. That is just one instance of many from different people. Hope this explanation clarifies. And yeah an addict that is struggling will slap their mama for $5 or their drug of choice.

These are new user signs. Like when you’ve never abused opiates before and have just started poppin’ some vicodins or whatever opiate it is. These signs are all gone by the time they have become fully addicted. By the time they’re truly addicted and can’t go 12 hours without getting sick if they dont have their opiate, that person must now remain high basically 24/7 in order to avoid getting violently ill. Their body has adjusted to the histamine effect that causes the itchiness so that is gone too.
Many try to counteract the nodding effect in order to function in life somewhat so they start taking amphetamines to balance themselves out. The opiates make them nod off too much and never get anything done so they take amphetamines which gives them a bit of energy and stops them from nodding off as much or at least able to control it better and have a little more motivation without feeling agitated and twacked out like when only the amphetamine is taken. The opiate takes the edge off of the amphetamine. They will eventually have this balance fine-tuned, its like a gas pedal and a brake.
It can be difficult to tell sometimes, but there are signs. One being …. Always late, very late to everything no matter what they cannot get somewhere on time for the life of them.
Two… they stop using social media. They havent deleted it but they’re definitely not as active on it as they used to be or at all for months or years at a time.
Three…. New friends who may seem a little sketch. Being an addict can get lonely, so when a user is introduced to another one, they’re going to start hanging out together so they can just relax and be themselves without having to hide from everyone which gets exhausting.
Another sign is ….. shoplifting. addicts spend all their money on drugs but still need basic things like food and clothing so they start shoplifting those things or they do it so they can sell it for the extra gas money or to pay their phone bill.
Another sign is …. Every so often, usually a day or two before they get their paycheck or government benefit or whatever income they rely on, a majority of which (if not all) will go towards funding their expensive habit, but every so often, they will run out of money and will have run out of drugs and getting sick will be unavoidable. They come down with a bad flu, they’re in bed, sneezing, yawning, diarrhea, the works, but then they’re suddenly perfectly fine like an hour later … yeah. They were able to get a friend to front them something till payday. That’s a big sign.
Which leads me to the next one which is…. Chronic health issues. Immunodeficiencies, kidney problems, pancreas problems, skin problems, joint problems, eye problems, circulatory problems, digestive problems, severe mental illness, you name it, they’ve got something going on healthwise.
And the vocal fry is the last one I can think of. For heavy users this never goes away even if they get sober. Steve-O has it, he was a heavy user, Janis Joplin, kurt kobain. You can clearly hear it in their voices.
Thats all I can think of based on my past experience. I’ve been sober since 2019 and dont miss being chained to that lifestyle whatsoever. I never thought I could say I love life again and mean it but here I am. 😊

Oh sweetheart, yes indeed there are people with a genuine need for pain relief that are not addicts. I'm new here to this group and with that said I don't think that those who have severe medical issues and take their medication are being called out. I believe that we need to be aware of what is happening to people and what they are going through now. Not only have I battled addiction many many years ago but I had to watch my son go through it for 20 years and by the grace of God, he is good. He is now a supervisor at a rehab and he is very humble. He genuinely enjoys his job trying to help other people even knowing that only 5% are able to completely kick Addiction in the ass without relapse. I pray for those struggling. The first time I took Oxyconton, I was working carts for a Supermarket in the winter where it was 5° F and I had on a light spring jacket and sat on a metal staircase while on my break talking with my sister-in-law and I felt GREAT ! No probs witb the freeze. Also, I never got sick from it and otherwise had no ill effects. The other thing is, I never did them so frequently as to develop dependancy. Thank God ! So, if you see someone walking around in blistering cold in springtime apparel, they on the smak, the junck, the horse, the horse smack, the Mr. Brown Stone.

Being high on opioids is kinda like this >> 😑 in the sun as it's about to set in the evening. It takes you back in time as a child and how the world looked around you with colors and you feel so good breathing that air of the past. You depend on it alot and you don't care about the real world anymore. That's the effect it has and will wear off, unfortunately. This means people will try to keep up with it and it will lead them to depression when the effects is gone.

Just about all of these signs seem to perfectly describe the symptoms and behavior of retired military vets I've work with over the past several years - I'm referring to the ones that were on PTSD meds. I don't know what the VA/doctors are prescribing to these guys, but all the symptoms described by Mr. Zink were spot on - appearing too relaxed or even drowsy at times, unpredictable or sudden outbursts of euphoric chatter, barely paying attention to a word you're saying during a conversation, etc., etc. I mean I feel for some of these guys for the stuff they've gone through, but I sometimes wonder if these drugs/meds are really helping them. I truly hope they're not addictive.

The biggest tell for me personally is that I constantly scratch my nose because it itches like a mfer. That and also I randomly go on the couch and lay there dozing off in the middle of the day for hours while my roommates watch tv, but I never really lose consciousness and still seem to understand the whole plot of the movie even though they thought I was sleeping for the last two hours. And the third tell is when my girlfriend wants to have sex and my libido is literally at zero and I'm more likely to fall asleep while she's kissing me than I am to achieve arousal.

Addiction and dependency are two VERY different things. Your obviously going to be depend on something that you need to take daily because of a debilitating condition. Or maybe you have angina and need morphine to stop your chest from hurting. And opioids are obviously going to feel good aka painkillers. It’s when you use opioids as a scapegoat is when you should get help. Or maybe you can’t afford the ridiculous prices of pharmaceuticals, so you go buy something else. As long as you have a real medical condition there is NO problem either way your life will still be the same. Some peoples problems are not in their head

Yeah unfortunately, and I like this guy's message and outgoingness A LOT (Thanks O\ERIC!) but I think this particular video gives some people a false sense that they can detect if some's using drugs. Like, I drink a lot of water to stay hydrated, and every once in a while I DO pop an ibeprophen, someone could see me doing that, and after watching this video they might think that's a sign of me using opiates. Getting calm and breathing at different times of day? So many explanations: different personalities, blood sugar levels that fluctuate throughout the day, everyone's body chemistry is different.
The truth is the are no for sure tell-tell signs about opiate usage that don't have other explanations, but with some narrowing down and, yes, intuition, you can have more accurate guesses.
