These rules are not going to help the air quality in California. They can ban all the gas burning cars they want, Mexico is not going to do it and all their pollution just floats into California. I am glad I moved out of California.
Yes, there will be a ban on the sale and registration of new diesel vehicles over 8,500 lbs. In this case, 'new' refers to vehicles with fewer than 7,500 miles. If a manufacturer doesn't have enough 'credits' to produce these vehicles, they won’t be allowed to sell or register them in the 6 states. If you already own a used vehicle, you should be fine, but expect potential fees in the near future. However, there are new details that could change this ban and possibly create exceptions for the manufacturers. Stay tuned for an update video coming soon! I hope this was helpful and don’t forget to subscribe if you haven’t already, so you don’t miss the update. Thanks for watching!
Why is anyone surprised by this? RVs in North America are so far behind stuff you find in Europe or Australia both in layout, technology, but also boondocking capability! I love car racing and burning fuel for pleasure, but for an RV - why?!? You already have 50 amp plugs everywhere (even 30 amp is ok) - why not use them? Companies like "Living Vehicle" are perfection in my book, but they are travel trailers, not Class A/C motorhomes. The new Mercedes Sprinter van has a 116 KWh battery pack which to me should be enough for a Class B. In any case, the RV industry has been dragging its feet for so long and selling absolute overpriced garbage (anything with propane) that not only will I have no pity on these (looking at you Forest River), but I'll sit back with popcorn and enjoy the fireworks. As for the range - yeah I completely agree, most EVs are built with "good enough" range, but practically speaking, anything that can drive for about 3-4 hours on one charge is perfectly fine and you don't need more, even though I'd very much like to be able to drive 6 hours straight in one go (target of 500 miles). For this range it just means a bigger capacity traction battery - I'm thinking at minimum 200 KWh. That big battery can also power your coach batteries and solar on the roof can charge the coach batteries too and send excess back to the traction batteries via the regen braking system or other ways to tap into the traction battery.
My federal tax dollars help pay for building and maintaining interstate highways. How can a state keep you off federal funded highways. California,New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts are not states I ever care to travel to.
in CA over the years we've had to fire sale 20' trucks we owned because the state said they were no longer legal. Every year the noose tightens on my gas cars in higher insurance, registration, fuel prices. I wonder how long they will allow me to keep my restored 86 class c toyota due to weight.
I saw no credible source for 'banning' motor homes. However the clean air act in California or whatever it is called, will limit sales of huge diesel driven motor homes. So we do need a clear report from a reliable source, not an RV site. We need clean air, we need to have RV fun too.
It will ban the sale of and the ability to register a diesel motorhome that is made on a chassis by a company that doesn't produce enough EV chassis. So frightener and spartan diesel chassis (which almost every diesel motorhome is built on) doesn't have a chassis that complies with the new regulations, therefore they are now banned in those six states. Thanks for watching!
It sure is crazy! I think that the dealerships in the six states that mostly sell diesel motorhomes will be badly affected. The worst part is that there is no zero emission class a that they can start selling instead. Thanks for watching Mark!
Does this only affect new RV's, 2025 and later? From what I've read so far, It seems like if you have an older gas powered Class A, 2024 or earlier, will may still be able to register it or sell it in California? Does anyone know?
According to the RVIA, If the Motorhome has less than 7,500 miles on the odometer it will be considered "new" and can't be registered unless it complies with the new rules. If the RV has more than 7,500 miles it will be considered used and can be registered. I hope this answers your question! Thank you for watching and subscribe if you haven't already for an update video soon!
It sounds like they are banning the sales of these vehicles. For now, you should be able to still travel to those states with these vehicles. It will just drive motorhome sales into the states that still allow sales. It will hurt businesses and consumers in these six states. In the other states, motorhome business should increase. Even crazier, CA is planning to actually ban sales all ICE vehicles, not just motorhomes.
Yeah, you will be able to travel to those states, but you can’t buy one or register one in the six states. It will definitely affect sales big time! Wow that’s crazy!! Thanks for watching!
With this new motorhome ban it is really going to hurt the motorhome industry because a lot of these manufacturers are going to have to lose these dealers. And electric semi-trucks are just hitting the market and so it's probably going to take at least another couple years before we starting seeing any electric RV's that are over 30 feet start hitting the market. With that the prices for electric RV's are going to be so much higher. Than what diesel RV’s are.
You are exactly right. I think this ban is going to affect the market, and I think it is happening way too soon. We are not prepared to get rid of diesel motorhomes, Maybe in a couple of years, but not in a few months! Thanks for watching Jordan!
The RV industry is dying anyway...staying in hotels is cheaper than buying registering fueling maintaining insuring and paying for RV parks...sign of the times.....
What Are Your Thoughts On This New Ban?
It's beyond disgusting.
5 unelected people sit on the Ca Air resources board. God we need new leadership here in CA and disband this fiefdom
It's absolutely ridiculous! Thanks for watching!
Hopefully the new administration will stop these stupid regulations
I got a really good feeling they will!
I think it is a states rights issue, Trump won't be able to do a thing. I hope I'm wrong

Don’t forget china is building 53 coal powered power plants, it takes 3 days for California to receive the pollution from across the Pacific Ocean…
This is just another ploy to force every one into EV's.
Don't forget, people who can afford these diesel RVs will buy and register them in Montana. Lots of "firms" to help facilitate this.
You get what you vote for. When Californians start thinking about fiscal reality, quality of life, then common sense people may get elected.
You got that right! Thanks for watching!
Those states dont want the business,so move out to a state that does.
I Agree! Thanks for watching!
Those states have always let California dictate their emission standards.
What happens if you currently own a motorhome in these states. Move out? This needs to be contested in court!!
I guess?! It will be interesting to see how this plays out over the next couple of months! Thanks for watching!
RIP tourism in California.
How about the tourist industry? With no repair shops no one will want to travel there. This will be a billion dollar hit to the economy.
I can't feel sorry for the people out there. They keep voting the same way. Should be some good buys on used motorhomes out there soon.
Yes, I think that there will be a lot of good class a motorhomes coming to the used market! Thanks for watching!!
No we’re not!!! We are NOT voting this way, they are CHEATING!!!!
Lawsuits challenging the rules will probably be coming soon.
Probably, Thanks for watching!
Will they ban deisel powered semi trucks

It sure will! Thanks for watching David!
@DavidSmithfield it will also effect the class c market as well
@@jordandexter6181 Very True!

The industry will sue these states
I hope they do!! Thanks for watching!
CA will not allow you to register a newly purchased pre 2010 diesel pusher. This will seriously affect values. Watch older DP's depreciate like crazy.
Its crazy!! The used market for diesel pushers will 100% be badly affected!! Thanks for watching!
Wow this is crazy. Wonder how this will affect sales?
