You have to admit. Them Galaxy 959B’s are One of the most beautiful radios made. Somebody’s going to be a happy customer. awesome job Matt. 👋244 BadNews. In the BigHorn
WOW! Great video Matt. This is a beautiful radio. And with your tuning, it's even better. Been window shopping for one more to add to my soon to be shack & I'd say it's between one of these or a Galaxy DX2547. I'd be in for another raffle & doesn't matter what combination. Anyway 73's your way. 555 Weirdharold standing by.
The 2547 is the base version of this radio so either way you would have the same main board. I've setup a few of the base units and they are very nice. I appreciate you stopping by and for your input on the next raffle. 73s 😎
Those radios look really nice 👍 Good work as always ,, and I look forward to sending you another radio to do surgery on ,,, you’re The Radio Doctor 👍 And that’s The Lazarus Table lol Bringing them back from the dead !! (John 11 : 1-44 in the good book)
Some of the best receivers on these 959’s, well considering just straight up CB’s. Can’t go wrong with a 959 even though they can be a little drifty on sideband. Awesome video bud. 73🤙🏻
Awesome Matt hey like the new monitor screen for the spectrum analyzer much easier to see ( lol ) , I have a salutation on the camera work get the kid out there to help you out ..... 😂 PS ... If you need any help on the Patreon information contact my friend Buddy from The Radio Shop he has one I am sure he would be able to help you out with any questions you have.
Haha yea that sounds like a good idea for a camera man, unfortunately everything my boys touch they break!! 😬 I never knew buddy had a patreon page. I will have to check that out, he has some cool videos that I've seen on YT.
For Mobil or Base, these DX's will do the job when set up right. A Cobra 29 LTD Classic or AM/SSB, non-export, with a touch of your magic, Matt, for the raffle radio will do. The current export radio addiction, that is soon to cause ominous attrition, is to me, beyond an understandable condition. I guess the meek/weak will no longer inherit the airwaves. I can only smile when talking with the big dogs, on a little pup of a radio, that is set up right The best way to get someone's attention...is to whisper. There is an old saying in radio idiom: "IT'S NOT THE SIZE THAT MATTERS, IT'S THE FREQUENCY". I am still on frequency, even when you step on me! No offense meant, guys. Just an observation of the oblivious ones. Keepin' The Hobby Hoppin', 😑🦗
I may have to start seeing what I can find on one of these that needs a little work and make it a project radio complete with a DDSVFO install for SSB stability and possibly a Beard amp as well My search is on I may have a lead or two
Great video buddy,I would love to buy a 959b from you and have your magic voo-doo done to it. i also will run a D-104 with it and it will be my new base unit. i am retiring my uniden 810E pro. any idea when your getting more in the shop? again great stuff man. The Gost Rider.
Yea I know the drift issue hangs up a lot of guys that run ssb. Like I've said before I really don't mind having to touch my clarifier once in a while. I know you like them digital radios. 👍 Have you had to repair any of them?
My 959 is loosing recieve and transmit intermittent hot or cold doesn't matter for that matter my general lee does it too. I now down to a uniden 505pro and a 1x2
Sounds like you may have some solder joints that need attention. Hard part will be finding them. Also intermittent issues with a radio are the worst part about doing repairs. Seems everytime you go to fix the issue the problem goes away.
I notice a high-pitched hum when I have the lights on when I press the dimmer switch to the off position it goes off. Is this a common issue for these radios and the blue lights?
Matt, I have a Galaxy DX 959 to sell. It has been "tuned up" by Bells CB. I never installed it or used it. AM Carrier: 1 - 6W; Peak AM Pwr: 12 - 35W; SSB PEP: 8 - 28W. Do you know what these are going for?
Thanks buddy! No problems on time, I told Double Eagle it could be awhile and we're all good here. Thanks so much for the beautiful job. "Simpleman"
Nice rig, and yes 3MADE is fun to watch. Cheers
I'll usually play his vids in the background when I'm working late at night
I watch your channel wagonmaster👍
Another great and informative video. When I see these I get the urge to send in my 959 for a little work. I just might do it!

Ok, appreciate the input for the raffle. You can have a little pup for a radio, just has to have some bite 😎🇺🇲👍

They are sharp, just wish they could build a stable radio!
With better circuit boards.

@@TheRadioGarage 😂 you too brother
@@TheRadioGarage no. Not yet
@@ChiefMade you may not be such a fan when that happens then 😆👊

Doubt!! I just send em to the pro!!😁
Thank you
Have you ever put a top gun compressor on one of those?
Do they come with instructions on how to best use?
👍👍
I know that the new stryker 955 is all microprocessor controlled and factory set with software. Is this galaxy 959 exaztley the same way.
No the 959 is still old school analog.

Yes very common. It's the Starlite faceplate that makes the hum.
Hi Sir can this rig be used in the uk 🇬🇧 thankyou
Yes why not
@@TheRadioGarage Thankyou sir
Brother Matt does this unit come with an automatic scan so your not always stuck on one channel?
No scan on this model
