Yeowza!!! I am half blind and can still solder just a little better than that. I have used a lighted magnifying glass, on a pedestal, that has adjustable arms with alligator clips that can be attached when needed. They were intended for rock and gem studies. Now that I no longer do detailed work on radios, I have repurposed it for another hobby...fly tying. If I mess up on a fly, it is much easier to redo than a solder bridge. The time and patience you take to restore these radios is understood and appreciated. Yes sir, you do great work, Matt. Smilin' and squintin', I'm off the key.👍👊👊 😑🦗
Nice job and radio. The video ended before you showed the new rfx power output. For some reason galaxy's bases have been better than they're mobiles. You'd think they could get them both right lol

Thank you for checking it out ☑️👊
I miss my 2517. This video makes me want a new one. Anyway, great info, so thanks for posting.
Wow nice save on that galaxy I'm going to be sending you a 77 galaxy when you have time
Good work.
Great job, looks like the radio chassis was designed to have the RFX mounted there. I would like to put an rfx in my 2547. Delaware Base Station #808

@@TheRadioGarage Not a problem Matt. I sent ya an email as well. No rush. ✌🏼
the first fan is blowing in the wrong direction over the RFX75 heat sink. It should be blowing air down on the RFX75 heatsink.
Yep that was another thing that was done wrong as well..forgot to mention that. Good catch!
Yea that needed a little love it should be kicking some but now like my little ranger does
Yep exactly like that little setup you have..😁👍
Where do you get the thermal control switch? Would you be willing to share the model of the 115 degree transistor?
Good God looks like a total Hack Job .....😩😩😩
