Great radio Matt! It would be nice for us truck drivers to know the voltage these radios are being powered at for example like 14.0 v or more. Most new trucks are set up around 14.0-14.2v and some shops will tell you "look, your radio is doing 125 watts on my meter but fail to tell you that their power supply is like at 15.0v plus when testing your radio and when you go to install on your semi you get like 70 watts power because of the voltage difference. I think shops should ask each customer where their radio is going and voltage thats going to be used so they can see what the radio is putting out under the voltage specified. In my opinion. Ive yet to see a cb shop show you what a trucker radio looks like under the semis true voltage and if they're gonna run an amp or not. That's why I enjoy watching your videos! Your great at what you do! Keep up the great work!
Got a DX959b, all upgraded, sitting next to the DX949 you did for me on the bench, Matt. Always have been my go to radios. They talk the the talk and hear the squawk. Setup right, even with the price hike, they are a best bang for your buck. No doubt about it! You crankin' out these quality chatter boxes, makes me want to buy them all. Mama won't allow it!! Such a tease to do these radios up and have to let them go. Yeah, well do I know. Passion obsession, leads to broke depression. Keep em' coming. I will get over it. 😥 👍🖐 😑🦗
Excellent video Matt :) also should show what Clarifier does when not open up for Am/ LSB / USB from factory to and when open up after on Am/ LSB /USB to difference be ! Then also what Meter show on Modulation % for Am / LSB / USB match your radio service equipment to dail up perfectly so operators has them so won't break needle in meters could plus pin of top of radio meter on transmission of Am & Sidebands! Be something think you try to on of Galaxy or and any radios to ! Meters probably hard get and replace too!
Thank for your video. I would like to get a good cb for my truck. Of course the have the Cobras at the truck stops but am looking at the galaxy and others, but if a galaxy will s so much better (and so much more expensive) why does it need all that work done on it? Thanks
Wow!! She is another gem!!! That wideband transmit sounds good and holy hell she has good ears on her!!! Another amazing job on Galaxy #3! Thank you so much 😎😎😎.
I'd like to buy that galaxy 959 how do I go about doing that? Do you have a website can you send it to me or let me know how I can go about buying that cb
These seem pretty darn stable to me, but I'm not real picky about a little drift. I don't expect to never have to touch the clarifier on a cb or export.
Woohoo late night video awesome. Nice radio if I didn't already have the quad6 and Lincoln and a few others I'd probably grab one to. Do you know when you'll be able to take more tune up's ? I'd like to have ya tune that Lincoln I got and widen the audio tx and Rx.
i love the original stock mikes that come with the galaxy's. they loud and clear.

Ok thanks for the suggestions.
Did they ever resolve the buzzing noise from the transformer from the starlight plate
Nope that is still an issue with the 959b
@@TheRadioGarage Is there a fix or is there a fix to make it less noticeable
Also is there a way to turn off the face plate and still keep the frequency counter meter and number meter lit up
Echo just sounds amazing nice and clear
When I screw my wilson in my magnet mount the pl259 shorts out but but when I Un screw it the short goes away what could be my problem

What amp power supply do you recommend for these?
You can get away with a 5 amp constant 7 amp surge as a minimum.
@@TheRadioGarage thanks I appreciate that. Got one coming in the mail and didn't want to starve it with low power.

Yes I have done extra channels for the 959.

I'm looking for a dx979 but seems like nobody selling it
Yea I believe they are discontinued
I've always known for galaxies to drift all the time, still going on these days?
These seem pretty darn stable to me, but I'm not real picky about a little drift. I don't expect to never have to touch the clarifier on a cb or export.
