These radio s aren't a bad radio. I've had a few of these. They tune up nice. Sideband did drift a bit , 2 to 3 kc's even after warm up time after turning unit on , vs talk time warming. I did fix that problem and never drifted again. I've had the older models of this and the newer models , the older models are better in my opinion. Widely used board in numerous other radios. I like the Ranger 696 f1 too. Same board. Nice video. Watkins Glen NY waving #12... 🤘
Matt, another excellent save!! Nice work, also echo sounds great. Also just want to thank you for the president Richard I bought from you the scope and the alignment you did. Talking from a Wilson 1000 antenna from Ohio I made my first two DX today one Kansas City and one Texas. Thanks again
After watching a great many videos and radio techs, I want YOU to build me one of these please ! I'll take the "Bullet Proof" option, and echo, and any other recommendations you care to suggest ! Your equipment, knowledge and skills are tops in my book !
My DX959 is 8-9 years old and just recently got it worked on at superior CB in Ontario ca. got me a output of 110W after work was done and I’m happy that it gets out as far as it does compared to a stock radio
Still catching up with your videos. Hopefully getting WiFi at the lake, soon, so I can stay current. Nice salvage. Dual final dynamic duo!Loud and proud. Watched the raffle video. Here's a Big Shout Out to Mrs. Matt and the mini Matt! 👋👋 😁 😑🦗
Nice work . As far as an AM radio , hard to beat a properly tuned Galaxy. I always felt like they had a sound of their own , especially 20 years ago when they were kinda new , I could always tell back then when someone was talking on a Galaxy . They were/are superior audio modulation in my opinion . Add a hint of echo and it’s a beautiful sound . I’ve never seen a dual final conversion . But I’ve thought about it in my head how much sense that would make if it could be done !! Now I know 👍. 73’s my friend. Also . If I was a betting man , I’d say CB Radio Pronto had that radio before at one time 🤔
Quality is Job #1....." Thinking about getting a cb again after 30+yrs. What model and brand would you sugest just for travel & safety in my Pu truck....? Thank's
Sir i have a galaxy dx959 made in vietnam using transistor version, i have some problems when transmit, first the modulation output unclear received an another radios, sound like over modulation or talking using mask. and an other problem is RF cannot jamming on AM Mode, it just jam like SSB Mode (the needle Power swing as per modulation). what a part should i must be checked?
If its a shootout radio, you would want that limiter gone and the average up, right? Isnt that what D-RAIL does, is put a pot control on the where the limiter used to be? That's why mr Rail wont show what hes doing inside.
I haven't talked on a radio since I was a kid, and when my dad passed I inherited a 959. How could I contact you to possibly have it tuned and aligned before I put it to use again?
2sb817 regulator, 2sa1012 audio amp. 47 ohm/1n4001 npc mod by the regulator/audio amp. Proper driver/final bias. Modulation pot fed the onions and the limiter left INTACT. Adjust AM, SSB power to taste for your linear.. and call it DONE!
Not to throw anybody under the bus but... It would be nice if you named the shop that did that shitty work. It could save someone else from sending there radio to that shop and costing them a loss and a lot of money. Your only good for your word and work and if it is shitty everyone needs to be warned. JUST SAYING!!!!!
