I’m in avoriaz for my first week skiing now. Loved every minute of it. Mates took me up the lac intrets and down the black run at the top on my first day, best way to learn 🤣 anyway your vid is incredible. Subscribed and checking out your other stuff. What an incredible edit dude

Very nice and well edited video. I especially like the intro and that you have done well with the sound. Will be skiing quite a lot in both Sweden and the Alps this winter and will "borrow" some things from your video. Unfortunately, I don't have a drone, but I have a lot of ideas for stories. 2 things you should watch out for in Avoriaz. Expensive food & bumpy slopes. Apart from that it’s a great experience! 😅
Expensive accommodation as well, for what you get.
My first ever trip was to Avoriaz, so it set the bar quite high. 👍🏾

is this place good for late march typically from 26th of march to the 1 of april??
This year it will be fine. They have has quite a bit of snow the past few weeks.
Some happy memories of this ski area, but make sure you book smack in the middle of the season. Climate change has bitten hard here and a lot of the runs turn to miserable slush a lot earlier than they used to. You can find the season starts later than it used to, as well... which makes for a very expensive mountain biking holiday!

This edit is brilliant. What specific settings did you use on the go pro?
Thanks Chris! Ive a few different presets for different mounting locations. 5.3k 30 4:3 for head mounted and 5.3k 60 - 16:9 for follow cam. Protune settings are the same. Bitrate high - max 200 iso - sharpness low - colour flat
@@CraigCampbell8 Thanks for the reply! I have a 2013 MacBook pro. I cannot utilise my hero 10 4k & 5k because of the HEVC files. I need to upgrade my MacBook pro. Do you edit on the new apple M1 processor? Appreciate the reply :)
@@chrissouthern Even my 5950x PC struggles with the h265 files with gopro reframe applied ha! I'ver the M1 macbook air and its very impressive. You tried using proxies in premiere?
Is that gully at the two minute mark piste? It looks good.
Its in between two pistes under the Mossettes - Suisse chairlift in Les Crosets!
Also, I’ve got a Mavic pro and flown for a few years with PFCO but never in France.
Did you need to get any approvals or did you just navigate the restricted zones?

There were no restricted zones near where i was flying. Just used common sense when operating really. As its a ski resort you need to be mindful of Helicopters.

Did you have to watch out for temps below 0 due to the batteries?
@@antjohnson991 Never had any issues with Drone temps but if you are using a gopro the enduro batteries are a must.
Damn what a solid edit. Thanks for sharing with us. Those selfie shots in the intro looked so wide angle i thought it wasca 360 cam at first.
