I remember doing this piste a few years ago! My instructor was talking about how it would make us real skiers if we were able to do it at the end of the week. I remember going through that tunnel and just thinking: "Whelp... there is no going back now". The piste started with a 1 m drop which made us all really scared! But luckily our instructor told us we could do it! The adrenaline rush you get when you are on the slow part is so amazing! Looking back on it, that piste wasn't that scary and loads of fun. But skiing it is still one of the moments I vividly remember!! Oh and what an amazing video!!
Thanks for watching! It’s such a great piste! Come and ski with me next time you’re in Alpe d’Huez- there are many more amazing pistes- just less famous than this one- but equally as great! 👍👍
@@Cookiesports you should try Courchevel too if you haven't, very nice pistes there, love Grand Couloir and Couloir Emile Allais :). Bit steeper than Tunnel I think, but better snow most of the time. Nice video and impressive skill. Years earlier there was nearly no net, you could ski down, next to the tunnel's exit. Nearly a dive but with more snow than on the icy scraped part on the right. Then they added the turns and the nets because two many people fell in the first meters and could not stop securely.
I was there from the 4th to the 11th February for the first time and it was Gorgeous weather all week and the pistes were generally amazing - unfortunately they had some issues with the pic blanc lift which was closed from Sunday but luckily opened on friday our last day so me and my buddy got to do me tunnel just in the knick og time and le tunnel is definitely a Special piste such a cool drop in and entrance to the pist3, however, I don't think it was necessarily much more difficult per say than the Col de Cloy piste but I really do enjoy these heavy mogul runs its a different way of skiing for sure and really gets your legs working. Great video!
I was there also then, but left on the 4th. While queuing after the actual tunnel part we witnessed two spectacular failures. One skier failed on the top part and slipped under the safety fence trying to grab the last pole of the fence and went down a very long way. Another one managed to do a kind of front roll on the top part and did not slide down but rolled down a looong way. Both of them did appear to ski away eventually fortunately.
