I agree that this is definitely one of the best in Alpe D'Huez. When the La Fare is open it is the best imo lovely tree lined black, hopefully will be open when I'm there next week!
Cookie! Love your windsurfing videos, got this one in my recommended. Unfortunately im a snowboarder but this descent was amazing to watch. As always great filming.
Hi! I’m a snowboard instructor too- just thought for this video I’d be on skis! Don’t worry, many more to come- and I’ll mix between skiing and boarding! 👍
@@Cookiesportshi, just saw this video. I’m arriving on Friday 9th Feb!! Very short notice I know but do you have any time for lessons? I’m with my son (13) and we stay till Thursday. Never been to Alpes d’Huez and would love a refresher lesson and guide. Have some lessons booked already but only on Saturday and Monday. Thanks
I remember doing this run on the penultimate day of a week skiing and it was like it was on this video, perfect piste conditions, virtually empty the whole way down. I's assumed it would be rammed with skiers from that end of the resort but it was not. We did it again the next day. Wish we'd found it earlier in the week.
What run would you recommend starting in and returning to Oz en Oisans? We will be coming over there the second week of January. Looking forward to it after skiless corona years :) Greetz Fabian from Belgium
From Oz take the Poutran lift up to the top and you drop straight into the Alpe d’Huez bowl. From there you’re free into the main ski area. Getting home you’ve only got a couple options. The route from Vauj’ tends to have nice snow… or the blue from the Clamp C is a winner too. Have a great time!
Hello cookie, I am an intermediate skier that can ski down steep red runs. I am coming to alpe duez in a week time and wanted to ski a black run. I was just wondering what the easiest black run would be in the resort just from your perspective. Thank you
Sorry Cookie, i'm sure you answer this in one of your videos. How do you fade in your speed and hight in the video? With insta remote control? Or do you use a garmin smartwatch?
I actually record the activity on Strava, then sync the gpx data to the video on gamin virb. I don’t have the remote for the camera, but I know you can do it through your phone too- I’m going to test out this Arvo. 👍
Another snowboarding windsurfer here (moderator of the Windsurfing FB group). Looking at doing a couple of weeks snowboarding in March on honeymoon in a motorhome aire. Auris-en-Oisans aire looks good & can be pre-booked, but is there a way to get from Alpe d'Huez back to Auris without doing either Sarenne or the 'scare-chair'? Neither of which are an option for us. Keep up the great work, on both the water & the snow. Maybe see you in Vass in the summer.
Hi! Great to hear from you. Congratulations on the wedding, and great choice of honey moon! My bro actually convinced his non-windsurfing new wife to go to Fuerteventura on their honey moon! Auris is a great little town, you can get from Auris to Alpe d'Huez on the new Chalet lift (replaces the old 2-man super slow Chalvet with a new 6-man high speed one). To get the other way (back to Auris) you have to take the scare chair (Alpauris Express) or ski La Serenne. The "Scare chair" is fine for non-skiers, and beginners to take, green pistes on both sides so no problem connecting for everyone! Drop me a message when you're here and we'll go for a ski/board together!
@@Cookiesports Thanks mate. Bonaire would be the dream, I've wanted to go there for as long as I can remember. Maybe one day, but we're looking to buy a place in Leucate in the meantime & get long-stay visas (f*cking Brexit!). I could never do the scare chair unfortunately, I get a bit dizzy if my socks are too thick. I can just about cope with uphill-only chairlifts if they're not too steep, but try to stick to bubbles where possible. Weirdly I'm fine when fully enclosed! Vaujany aire's another option, we'll do a bit more digging. Thanks again for the info.
Vaujany is bubbles everywhere, nothing like the scare chair there. Also look into Oz. Although ADH doesn’t have a specific camping spot, there are a lot of RV’s parked around the town here!
No joke, just do it from edge to edge. Thats all. Don't laugh, inline skating helps me a lot to change my style after 40 years of skiing from wag to carve.
c'est vrai... du haut du pic Blanc, en passant par le tunnel puis jusqu'en bas de La Fare, environ 2150m de dénivelé ! peut-être que je le filmerai bientôt ! 👍👍

It’s a great route… hasn’t been open yet this winter- but more snow due soon so sure it won’t be long! 🤩
Very smooth. Looks like a video game from this view point.
I love the views from these cameras! Plenty more similar videos coming soon if other great routes around! 👍

Thanks, that was great! One of our favourite runs :)
Definitely one of my favourite routes here… but got another I really like coming soon too!
One of my favourite runs that. Top to bottom. Agreed about the top piste always groomed. No one ever seems to go that way ❤
Love it! 🤩🤩
Thank you!!!!!
I love your videos. So helpful
I'll do skiing in Alpe d'huez this February.
Can't wait.
Cheers 👍
Better get in quick if you want any coaching or guiding… we’re almost full for February!

Nice video. Beautiful conditions.
It's always great here in Alpe d'huez!
Nice vid! Pretty sure I met you when I was queing up for the Marmotts lift with Malcolm Moore back in December. Small world!
Could well have been me saying hi! 👋
Hope you’re had a nice time!
that run looks nice. My enforcer 100s would love it. Don't remember it when I was there. Maybe it's a bit hard to find or out-of-the-way.
Top of the dome and turn right! 🤩
Great video's Cookie, could you do some more covering the best routes through Alpe d'Huez?
Will do! 👍👍👍

What app do you use for your speed and decent gradient?
Garmin Virb 👌

Hello!
Easiest black run would be cloche de marcle, from the top of Marmott 2. Only short, pretty steep and usually grommed. 👍
Thanks I will give it a go

@@Cookiesports Thanks 👍🏼
I have the remote control, but it is not water resistant 🤮
I prefer to buy the garmin Mk2i, because i dive too ☺️
Is there plenty of snow i the start of march - Seems like you been in alpe dhuez for quite a time / Nice videos btw
March has plenty of snow- my favourite time of the winter! 👍👍
How are the sun gods? I’m wanting to purchase them for the 3 valleys.
I love them… highly recommend! 👍👍👍
from what company are your goggles
SunGod. Links and details of most of my gear is in the description 👍👍

are you windsurf teacher in summer and skiing teacher in winter?
Crazy good lifestyle👌
how does the saying go.... "find a job you enjoy....." 😜
Nice, can you make a vidoe where you explian how to do carves on skiis
Will do... stay tuned!

Why did you not use your carve board on this run? Lol.
