      Excellent! Be sure to go to La Sarenne first thing in the morning when it’s nice and groomed… gets a lot bumpier through the day!

    Personally, I really hate the use of the fish eye lense effect. It is SOOOOOO overused. I want to see what everything looks like in a true natural presentation, not overt distortion.

    • @Cookiesports
      @Cookiesports  Год назад +2

      That’s a shame… opening the view to a fish-eye style is really the only way to get the full view in!

      @Ride-Along Sessions with Cookie! Don't get me wrong, Cookie. I love what you do. I'm envious. I'm also aware that all skitubers use a fish eye effect of one type or another half the time or more. I most likely appeals to a broader audience. Anyhow, keep up the good work. The more info, the better, especially like overseas travelers like me that can't always find accurate info at times

As someone who's 2 passions are windsurfing and skiing, I would love to know how you broke through to top level coaching in both sports and in particular, how you got through the Equivalence French ski test - my understanding is it's absolutely brutal!

      @@Cookiesports LOL, 😂😂😂 Well you posted the video as the longest black run in the world, but then only show half of it as you cut off the last bit !! You might as well go somewhere else (like a reasonably decent run elsewhere - say 5-6 kilometres long) and show the WHOLE length, rather than the longest run but only showing half...🧐

    • @Cookiesports

      @@gbsailing9436😂😂 you don’t know the run do you!?
      From this point it’s a flat (ish) slide out… a few km long, but not worth showing all of it.
      I’ve used clips of it as you go through the tress in other videos as it looks pretty cool- but would make for a pretty dull video if I kept it all in!

    I’ve always wondered - a run that takes that long on the way down - how long does the lift take to the top?????

    • @Cookiesports
      @Cookiesports  7 месяцев назад

      DMC 1 & 2, the Pic Blanc… I guess from first going through the lowest barrier to putting skis on… about 30-40mins.
      Even more from L2A base, up Jandri to the top of the T-bar glacier! That’s about a hour!

    • @petemaunderhoops
      @petemaunderhoops 7 месяцев назад

      @@Cookiesports Thanks! Still a pretty good ratio! The runs at the mountain in my state are all pretty short (longest one is about 3-4 minutes down, 15 minutes up), had always wondered if for those ultra long runs you do just have to take a LONG time in the chairlift, and evidently, the answer is yes!

    • @Cookiesports
      @Cookiesports  7 месяцев назад

      It’s changeable… done on a quiet day, and early in the day- it’s a red… like in this video… done later in the day after 1000’s of people have skied it it’s a whole different game!

  • @kiwibloke2000
    @kiwibloke2000 5 месяцев назад +1

    it's a blue run. I did it when I was a virtual beginner. Nothing vaguely scary though my legs got very tired. A lot of people in NZ consider Europe skiing better than NZ skiing, but I think the all mountain terrain at Turoa, for example, makes European runs feel like a trail. You are kind of locked into a trail. Turoa feels like the whole mountain is off piste. both of these video are on-piste. ruclips.net/video/CXf3ZOWGNFo/видео.html ruclips.net/video/37BtRjkjtxI/видео.html
