I love scindapsus too!! I don't know about you, but in my area they are starting to drop to affordable prices so its really tempting to purchase more! Wishing you luck for your growing collection! Take care :)
I have a large scindapsus exotica from Etsy and I noticed it doesn’t have any aerial roots or little nodes, my argyraeus has tons so I was wondering if there’s a reason for it because I want to propagate it soon :(
I’m very nervous about bringing home pests and I’ve heard they are very prone to spider mites, thrips, and fungus gnats. What is your experience? ThanksNoah. You’ve been a great resource. .
Surprisingly, I haven't had any problems with my Scindapsus! I have a couple of varieties and they're definitely more strong than my philodendrons! I suggest letting them dry out and then bringing them into the shower, washing off the leaves while growing them- I believe this is why I've been so successful without any pests yet! Thank you so much for your support, take care always 😊
@@noahkdc thank you. I just bought a mini pilia, sanservia milk fern? , and wandering Jew. Haven’t had a wandering Jew in a very long time. Doing some research now. Be well. 😊
I have one that has rooted in water. Do the roots need to dry a little prior to transplanting into soil mixture? And what soil mixture do you recommend? Thanks!
Hello! No, please don't dry out your beautiful roots before you repot them into soil. That will kill off the roots and then the entire plant! It's just important to dry out the stem ends as a fresh wound influences rot. Roots grow continuously so they don't rot unless you over water it! I always suggest buying a good grade of potting mix, then purchasing an orchid bark mix and combining them, then repotting your plant into that mix!
Hi there I'm from Kuwait City ,, I want to ask you some questions about the propagation How many times do I have to change the water? And when I can but it in soil ? I have the same plant and I want to take care of ,, Thank you very much .
Hello! Sorry for the late response, but I try my best to not change the water too much! I only like to change the water when it looks very green and it starts to smell bad. I like to just top off the water when the level goes below the roots. As for potting it into soil, I like to wait until I can see secondary roots come out of the primary "first roots" that come out of the stem! Thank you so much for watching :) Let me know if you have any more questions!
@@noahkdc 🙊 hello I followed you on instagram 👍👍 Actually I didn't wait till the roots come out 🤦🏻♀️ I hope it's ok 😬 but I'm trying to do my best to get propagation done before 3 days ago I but it in soil and it looks ok nothing happens 😅
For scindapsus not yet! I've had very good luck propagating hoyas in moss. Although I do believe sphagnum moss would be great for rooting plants in general if you're on top of keeping it at the right amount of humidity (which i'm bad at 😆) ! Water is just very fool proof for me so I prefer to propagate my plants in it! Thank you so much for watching 😊
My roots are in Philippines though my 'foliage' grows in Canada! I was born and raised in Vancouver though I would really love to visit my parents home country one day! Thank you for watching 😊
Hi Noah, another great video.
The exotica is one of my favourites. Hoping to get a Lucens (sp?) The leaves are so pretty.
Yes!! Their leaves are so thick and shiny!! The Lucens is so beautiful, kind of reminds me of a Cebu Blue! Thank you so much for watching, take care 😊
Scindapsus are some of my favorite, my argyraeus has survived despite lots of neglect! I have three varieties and am always on the hunt for others.

Have you tried propagating in sphagnum moss by any chance?
