What do you guys think of the HomePod 2?
349 euro in europe, no thanks. Latest products from apple are missing the ball here in europe with their price hikes. I hope apple will sell none here.
@@billx4266 $399 here in Canada. It's definitely priced very high which was the same mistake they made with the original one.
dont' really use any "pods" at home so don't really care too much for these.
I know A LOT of RUclipsrs/people were sent these speakers for review, this is the conclusion/conclusions I've came to,but honestly if all your devices/life revolves around Apple/Siri,Amazon/Alexa,Google,the decision, should PROBABLY be based more around that vs sound quality, but I think this is the order of sound quality/ 1st through 4th place and I think 5th place is a tie,but you need to put this speaker head to head/against the 1st place winner, the *Denon Home 350*,it uses Alexa, the 2nd place winner, the *Bose Home 500*,its more versatile/it can use Alexa and Google, the 3rd place winner, is the *Echo Studio*,this speaker obviously uses Alexa, the 4th place winner, the *Sonos Five*,it doesn't have a voice assistant though,so that MIGHT should knock it out of the running,it CAN use WIFI though and cables, and I think the *Sonos Move* and *Apple Home Pod* are neck and neck/tied,sound quality wise for 5th place, the Sonos Move uses the Google assistant, this is how I think these speakers should be rated, but I'd like you to test all of these and tell me what you think.
@@MatthewMoniz 349 euro is 505 CAD....
The review I was looking for, the only one who really compares sound quality between the HomePods and Sonos. Good Job Man.
Thank you!
I have historically had connectivity issues with sound bars and surround sound systems. Can't wait to try my pair of HomePods to replace my TV volume without the hassle of lots of wires or mounting speakers, love the simplicity of the HomePods and living in my Apple world! Agree a 250 price point would have been better. Thanks for the informative review.
I have preordered a HomePod 2 but agree that for the purpose of a home theatre experience it’s better to look at other options because they can be expanded.
Hi, I am looking at purchasing the HomePod 2 but am not sure if the cable is long enough for me, could you kindly share how long is the cable? Thank you and appreciate your help.
Perfect review summary for anyone thinking about buying this product. I especially liked your sound comparisons 👏
Thank you so much!
What do you think Sonos Beam (Gen 2) vs. Sonos Arc vs. 2 HomePod. Mulling upgrading my Beam !
I'm glad that I wrapped up my HomePod coverage with Matthew Moniz. It was the very best video. I learned a lot here.
Thank you for taking the time to watch!
Excellent video. Great audio comparison. HomePod 2 top and bottom design is remarkably like the HomePod Mini. I currently have a two HomePod Mini speakers configured as a stereo pair and very happy with them. I primarily use them with my Apple TV 4K and Apple Music but also like Apple device music hand off audio feature.
Thanks Keith for watching!
The one thing I don’t see people talking about, is stands for these speakers. The original had a recession on the bottom and most stands were built for this. With this new version, there is no recession, so now we need new stands. (I did see that you pointed this recession out. Thanks :) ). I have been trying to find stands, but I am coming up short at this time…
i'm very curious to see how this will compare to my Bose portable smart speaker... or however they word it. it sounds pretty damn good and you can control bass and treble which I don't think you can do with the HomePod.
slaughters bose by alot
Definitely better than the Bose portable smart speaker. I have it here as well and its not even a competition
Why did you put the Homepod Farrer away from the ear of the microphone so it did not receive the sound as good as it received from the 2 minnies, and now we don't have a true comparison
I had initially reviewed the Homepad as too "bassy"- canceling out mids and highs. However, by changing placement- this issue was alleviated. Unfortunately my speaker placement is not ideal however. Still, this speaker may be more sensitive to placement than others.
Wow thanks for comparing 2 minis and one HomePod2!! Ok Im just getting a second mini instead
Hi Matt, how would the HomePod 2 compare to the Sonos Move? That to me would be the competition. 🤔
I wish I had the move to test! But it was definitely better than the Sonos One
Good to know, thanks for the heads up Matt!
How does it compare in terms of sound to the original HomePod?
Glad I got the 1rst Gen before it was gone 😜
The price is lower, and so there's some internal compromises. Impressive that the sound quality is nearly as good with far less components! Let's just hope the smart home components go the distance!
I'm still very impressed with and loving my 2 HomePod minis. Would love the better sound quality, but not for $400 CAD. 😬
Ya the price point is quite high! But 2 HomePod Minis do rock! Glad you're enjoying them
@@MatthewMoniz Thanks! Surprised with how wide the sound stage actually is.
I’ll be getting one once Best Buy has a deal for $199.. 😆
Lies
can't you hear the huge bass difference between 1 and 2?
It's hard to tell over a video.
Thanks for the review, but there are better options for me out there. I agree that the HomePod 2 is too pricey for what it offers.
Thanks for watching Bryan!
Wi-Fi 4?
Yup
Yo
This would be a serious winner if it had LFE subwoofer outputs. Otherwise, it's kinda junk.
Really appreciate the video, but it’s nearly unwatchable since you didn’t mute her name. Sometimes it paused 3-4 times in one minute for me to be told about the temperature or the likes…
Oh god. Big deal. Quit crying.

Nice review but please mute “hey siri” in future videos 😳
Sorry! Didn't even think about it
@@MatthewMoniz mine shouted 144 randomly and scared the s̾h̾i̾t̾ out of me lol
I wonder how many dormant features are waiting to be activated in our devices😏
Can’t wait wait for the “destroy all humans exploding function” to be activated by Skynet once it’s fully autonomous😆
Dystopian jokes aside, great review.
The dark grey version looks so boring...
Come on bro, "Hey Siri?" Just a little bit more editing and you're not waking thousands of people's HomePods! Down vote!!!

Will stick with Google as it does what I need without the hold on one minute looks like something went wrong - also Google can play what I ask for where homepod is still far restricted with what it can play. I.e no BBC sounds still not available on the homepod so Google still leads the way for smart speakers. And don't get me started on the stupid money there asking for this so called smart speaker.
4:25 di-did you just use the wrong pronoun 😨
Please remove it or you will get cancelled
It's just a joke, OK?
Who pays 349 bucks for a WIFI 4 device @.@ Now most devices are wifi 6 or even 6E.
And, how does that change the experience? Who cares? Spec sheet comparing people are hilarious. "This has wifi 6, so it's better." No, it isn't, necessarily.
@@Steve-tf1wv so you let companies get away by putting outdated techs and still pay them the same price and become one of those idiot customers that will swallow anything enterprises have to trick you.
I think they went back to WiFi 4 for stability purposes. The OG HomePod is plagued with WiFi dropouts, the HomePod 2 so far has none
Had the original HomePod. It sounded like crap compared to the Google Home Max and my stereo system. No midrange. Just thump and tizzle sound, as audiophiles say. I sold mine. This reviewer doesn’t know much about sound quality.
