I'm so happy to see you back! You gave me inspirations to buy myself an open deck at the end of the season last year (6-ish months ago), but I kept looking and found an actual bass boat for 6000$CAD, and I bought it. It is an Astroglass 154v Bass model. I'm trying to resell the open deck because I need money, but you gave me confidence in my choices and it turns out it is a great solid boat too, I'd keep it if I had the money to spare... Anyway, I can't wait to see more of your vids man!

I'd buy that old motor from you in a heart beat. These are great motors and it shouldn't take much to get it running again. And I currently have one of those that's on my boat.

Good to see your return. Be a fine outboard for the Cat. Be sure your cavitation plate is correct with the bottom of the hull, slightest tilt on outboard and it'll do the chine walk-not fun.

That is one problem with Johnson/Evinrudes. Since they're no longer in business, chicom parts are all that's available. And they usually aren't up to par.

You will like that XR6 I have one and it never ever fails ever and goes like a raped ape. Only thing when you get it on the boat cold make sure that thing is trimmed dowwwwwwnn as lowe as it possibly can go pump the bulb choke it 5 times and fire in the hole. When you look back that motor is the best thing you did with the build. They are bullet proof and suck alot of gas but shit tons of power alot of people claim that the 2000 to 04 Xr6 are really 160 hp motors because of a loop hole in how they rated them. Enjoy man you will like it alot.

I have a 94' Pantera 2 with a 150 on it, runs 58 with a 1/4 tank of gas and just me and my gear on it. You might find that the carbureted versions of the 2.5L Mercs guzzle fuel. I have a DFI Optimax and it sips fuel really nicely

Wow you stole that XR6 ! If you ever read the scream fly website these have been being used for racing for year's! They're literally the best motor mercury has ever built! Been running mine for a decade now and it's been great. If you ever need help with the starting sequence just ask their kinda picky. Not near as bad as a Johnson exploder, but take a little getting used too. They also have a electronic choke and they won't pee until the motor reaches temp and opens the thermostat. Sometimes even when they're hot you'll see them barely peeing or occasionally stop, completely normal.
