I am a life long metalhead who doesn't speak a word of Spanish, and I adore Shakira, that's how much she transcends all different walks of life. She is so down to earth and beautiful inside and out.
Same and honestly something about Shakira always shined through. Loads of hot ones out there, loads of bad songs (not a fan of her music at all) but yeah, she always stood out
I like Death Metal, Thrash Metal, Heavy Metal, Industrial Metal, Metalcore, Nu-Metal/Crossover... but I like Shakira, too... or Anastacia, for instance... boy, and so much more. I think it's rather common among metalheads that many of us have a wide range of musical taste, and individually picky at that, across all sorts of genres. I could discuss for an hour or two what is and what isn't "true" metal and why with people, with no one nearing any conclusion, then digress and agree that Phil Collins is actually a decent drummer and made some good stuff. I like Daft Punk as much as I like Pink Floyd, while we're at it, or Depeche Mode. It's just like that.
However, I also agree that Shakira gives away a lot of relatable vibes, like she's managed to stay a regular person, and a lovely one at that, throughout the stardom and all that comes with it, which is pretty rare indeed.

@@ancogaming seems like you resonate with unique voices, tones and imperfections. memorability. as humans we are used to hearing "imperfect" voices when we are just talking, so that feels comfy to us. when you listen to a saxophonist play, you need to hear it with a perfectly tuned instrument, pure sound, because you only ever hear it that way and when it's broken or not in tune, you cringe.
so in the rare instance where you have somebody with a unique voice, that sings and still makes it sounds beautiful, it gives you both musical and human enjoyment. one of the best examples for this was bonnie tyler, boy oh boy, does she hit flat notes at times, but she ovewhelms it with uniqueness, power and mixing of warm, earthy tones to cheat that just "feel right".

there are very few people who have a gift of god, perfect and pure tone, perfect technique and training at the same time though. if i had to pick one off the top of my head i'd say delta goodrem from australia, now she doesn't have that unique sound, but pretty much the "perfect" sound. i love her, too, but for different reasons.
check her out and make the test to see whether i described earlier applies to you most. i'm guessing you are gonna find delta "good", but she won't resonate with you like shakira and anastacia ;)

She does that because bilingual people have a way to actually articulate and try to not embarrass themselves in a profesional setting. Shakira is so down to earth but she knows her crowd. If this was in Spanish this interview would be a lot different. Bilingual people have different settings when it comes to how to articulate words. We accommodate to others.

No a lot of celebs have asked Sean questions about the show and his career. An example is Zayn Malik, Lorde, Jennifer Lawrence, etc. 😂 But it’s good to see them ask those questions because it shows you who’s humble and who isn’t. Also which celeb cares about having a genuine conversation and which one is there for the hype.

My favourite part of the interview was sensing this lightly nervous but incredibly friendly energy about her in the beginning and watching her ease into the conversation as she got more comfortable. It really shows Sean’s ability to create such a safe and fun space for his guests that has their trust in him translate so loudly on screen.

I love that moment with every guest! Some are naturally less nervous in the beginning (especially if they have seen it before), but every guest starts to realize Sean’s questions and desire to be there with them is genuine. I love it

My friends in HS (mid 90s) were into Latin Rock and she was a big influence in that genre at the time. When she broke out into mainstream, I was genuinely ecstatic for her. As a Colombian American, it was so nice to see her evolve. She’s like the Colombian Madonna!
I first heard about her in the late 90s when my dad worked in Panama. He came home raving about her. It was weird at the time but makes a lot of sense in retrospect.
