OMG!! Just discovered your channel! THANK YOU for all the work you have put into this. We did not get to go to our favorite southern Colorado camping spot this past summer due to COVID, so watching these videos is helping to fill a void in my heart left from missing our annual trip. Curiously, I did not see our favorite campground amount your numerous beautiful videos. Florida campground has been my summer destination for over 40 years, since I was a toddler with my parents. It is right on the Florida river that feeds Lemon Reservoir on the other side of the mountain west of Vallecito, just north of Durango. For years it and its sister campground, Transfer Park, have been relatively unknown treasures IMHO. During the week it would not be uncommon for you to be one of only a small handful of campers, sometimes the only camper, so it would be super quiet and peaceful. Unfortunately in recent years it has grown in popularity, and some of that appeal has been lost, but it is still a wonderful place to spend a few weeks getting away from the real world. If you get a chance to add these two campgrounds to your list, it would be worth it. (My apologies if they are included and I just missed them.)

You are in luck. We visited Florida, Transfer Park, & Miller Creek in our fall recording frenzy. Those videos should be out from the last part of April into early May. They were still pretty busy when we visited.

I will be looking forward to seeing them! My parents went up to Florida in late August, but my wife and I were already on duty. (We are public school teachers.). After watching some of your videos, I am seriously thinking of venturing out of our comfort zone and trying out some of the other campgrounds in the area. Not interested in Vallecito. Beautiful scenery but always too crowded and busy. But the ones near Durango and in the Dolores area look very nice, and are spread out for the most part. Instead of spending 2-3 weeks at Florida, I think we may split it up into 3-4 shorter stays at some of the other campgrounds you have featured.

I really appreciate this content being out of state. I know it takes a lot to put it together. I like the newer graphic at the bottom too showing route location info. Looks slick!

This is a great campground. We stayed here several years ago. We saw many marmots in the rocks across the road.

I really liked this campground. We will probably use it as our base camp when we check out the campgrounds on the other side of the pass heading towards Telluride.

Are you all going to go back to this area and do some of those other campgrounds like Priest Lake Campground, Matterhorn, Mary E Campground etc. ? We are looking at staying in this area next year. Thanks.

Yes. That area is at the top of the list for us to visit. Almost made it back in September but went to Grand Mesa instead.
