An immense loss, a very powerful trio... you can't love the blues without going through Steve ray band... Thank you for this wonderful performance of a song that I particularly love ❤🙏🏽❤️🔝🔝🔝
I saw the show the night he died up at Alpine Valley. I woke up in the afternoon (because I worked nights) and heard the news. I called my buddy who went to the show with me (he was also my roommate) and asked if he heard about SRV. He said yes and I asked him why he didn't call me, he kind of said "What difference would it make, it's not like you were gonna drive back up there and help out." It was a shock to say the least! I still have The Sun Times with the story in it. Sad. Great show, Clapton, Robert Cray, Jeff Healey, SRV lots of heavy hitters in that lineup. Thanks George!
I'll tell ya, Stevie, Tommy and Chris were connected in some musical magical way. It was really a special thing to witness them play together. Great cover George and thanks for remembering SRV ✌
I got to see SRV in Brisbane in 1986. I was a typical 16 year old metal head, I wore a Iron Maiden Number of the Beast t-shirt who knew nothing about SRV, but that night was a life changer. All these years later, the two songs I truly remember is Couldn’t Stand the Weather and Voodoo Chile.

Brilliant tribute - awesome playing - full of fire! Fantastic you were able to see him when you did. What a fabulous memory for you. On of the all time greats. Hope you are well - thank you George !! 🥁🎸🎸🥁
@@BONHAMOLOGY Such a great tribute. My wife loved SRV too. A big favourite for me is Rory Gallagher (Check Irish Tour 74) 4:51 Just chilling this evening watching soccer in ‘the Stag Inn’ - local pub. Have a brilliant weekend. Hope you are gigging 👍🏼🥁🥁🏴🥁🥁👍🏼
So much to mention and remember...how great SRV was with such a unique full body tone, what a great taste in guitar players David Bowie had and last but in no way least, as usual, you George. Loved it!
Ah yes, love this funky assed tune! So much fun to hear/watch/play. You of course nailed it. Sounds great! You kick it and thank you for sharing and Happy Birthday Stevie Ray Vaughn!
Killer cover and what a fucking great sounding snare and kit. He/they really sped up at the first verse and you were on it like a mo fo throughout. Well done dude, really well done.
@@diegoforest Thank you, that's absolutely right. The verses are really pushed, so when I was going over it I recognized that I was going to have to pick up the pace a clip during those verses.
George, great as usual. I have a 13" coated Ambassador that is from Chri's timbale he sometimes had over his hats. From a Dec. 1985 concert where our band opened a single show for SRV. Chris was diggin on my 1966 Ludwig silver sparkle kit ( during set up). Good memories!!
@BONHAMOLOGY yeah, the tech changed out all the heads and was going to toss them. I probably put them on my drums until they died. The 13 is the only souvenir I have kept. Has a little cigarette burn spot on it. Fun stuff.
@BONHAMOLOGY I'm gonna be playing/practicing in a 12'x20' room with a 26x14, 13x10 and 16x16. All old Rogers. I'm just wondering if the high tuning will be too much.....for regular rock. I bought those drop mufflers and have shredded newspaper in the bass but I'm not really liking the sound with everything tuned low. Also, I got one of those 14x8 sonor compressor snares (aluminum) trying it with 30 strand wires.

Takes me back to my Navy days. Listening to SRV in the barracks, tossing back a beer or twelve. Great drumming as always.
Happy Birthday, Legend! Beautifully played, Mr. Fludas! 🙂

Great playing as always! Can you cover the Junior Mance version of “Don’t Cha Hear Me Calling To Ya?”
A few years ago, I made a list of drummers I really wanted to study and draw inspiration from. Chris Layton top of the list.

Nice hear a lot of Zep in this track from the piano and your right foot! SRV🤟
