Carmen is a fabulous character who has somehow been grand opera'd out of her danger, honesty, and allure. I don't mind modernizing the look; I think it can put the situation in more perspective for current audiences. This clip makes this production look like it really would work. Bravo Glyndebourne!

Really stylish and highly absorbent!! For me, the best opera company in the world is not the Metropolitan or Vienna, Glyndebourne is my favorite!

I will get this on blu ray if it becomes available. I didn’t like the Met or ROH’s modern Carmen, but this looks like some thought was put into it and I think highly of Diane Paulus.

Yes, I saw this earlier in the run, and it's a fabulous production.

Hi - this production won't be available to stream, but there is a BBC Proms performance in August, which will be broadcast live on BBC Radio 3 and available to listen to on BBC Sounds.

Beautiful voice, Rihab is amazing, but I woud have expected a more traditional staging, either way it is a grat recording. Bravo!

Bizet plagiarised this habanera from a Spanish composer. ruclips.net/video/SD8HznFITv8/видео.html

Great voices, chorus. Stage director should never stage another opera again!!! Tastless, agly production!!!

I saw this at The Met. Absolutely hate it. Full of offensive product placement, ridiculous and mindless costuming, set design, props and scenery. An inappropriate and implausible "updating".
The banality of the production completely upstaged the quality of the performances.
An entirely dreadful and ill-advised piece of Regietheater, wholly unfaithful to Bizet's masterpiece and dreamed up by self-indulgent incompetents.

This is absolutely horrible, and NOT Carmen, in any way, shape, or form !!
