Great video, thanks ! Can you tell us more about the Sidestick's sensitivity for MS Flight Simulator 2020 ? By default there is a curve especially for X/Y axis, but should we set the sensitivity to 0% to get a straight line ? Which one is more realistic?
In FSX all axis must be almost to the highest sensitivity level for having the closest experience to the real thing, so i guess in FS2020 have to be the same
Why does the co-pilot switch back to the VHF2 Selector after switching the freq on VHF 1? Why doesn't he just stay on VHF1 Since that is the one you guys are using?
VHF1 on the Captain's side is dedicated to ATC, VHF2 on the First Officer's side is dedicated to ATIS, dispatch frequency etc. by procedure VHF1 and VHF2 displays should be always showing their respective frequencies.
Your video is amazing!! I bought the Officer Pack Airbus Edition of Thrustmaster that includes the sidestick and the throttle quadrant. I run FSX: Steam Edition and I also have the Aerosoft pack of A318/A319/A320/A321. I tried many days, I spent endless hours on the screen tried to configure the right settings for the Airbus controls. Calibration is fine and both devices are shown on the game controllers of windows control panel. I tried from the FSX controls menu but I didn't made anything...I read many topics on the aerosoft forums for the configurator of Airbus to enable from there the TCA devices but there is no choice for something like that. I don't know what else to do...I don't want to believe that my purchase was for no reason... *I don’t have the professional pack for Airbuses and I run Win 10
I see the Thrustmaster has the roll/pitch trim hatswitch which is missing on the real thing. Would it make sense to have it on the real sidestick or does the autotrim make it redundant? I also see the trim wheels automatically trim nose down on braking. Does this help the airbrake effect and push the nose wheel hard down? When you take your hand off the throttles at V1, what if you need to move them from FLEX to TOGA after V1 but before V2, if an engine fails? Is it not better to keep your hand on the throttles till rotation (or even later, if an engine fails during climb?). Question King that's me
There is no need for the hatswitch, autotrim does all the work. After landing, pitch trim returns to neutral in preparation for the next flight, there is no additional benefit on braking or aircraft control on the ground. The probability of engine failure between V1 and V2 is very low, however the probalility of a pilot making and undue aborted take-off after V1 is very high, that is why the procedure worlwide is to remove hands off the thrust levers before V1. In case of engine failure during initial climb TOGA is not a requirement, the aicraft is capable of climbing in FLEX with only one engine.
@@RobT_Cockpit_videos thankyou. I like the hatswitch, I bet pilots wouldn't like it though as it would take a while to get used to it being there even if it isn't used. I've read it was present on the earliest preproduction frames although I haven't found a picture. The only other use for the hatswitch I could think of could be as part of a HOTAS system which would be useful for single pilot operations, something Airbus is said to be looking into for certain airframes but which has naturally met with stiff resistance so far. For an ACJ it might make sense, especially something light like an A220. We'll see how it develops.
No es complicado configurarlos, pero al momento las palancas de potencia no funcionan al 100%, thrustmaster ha dicho que en una actualización de software posterior funcionarán bien pero aún no ha sucedido.
As a right hander who once considered a job in aviation, the thought of having to operate a large commercial liner with a single yoke in the left hand seems a bit scary 😬 Has there ever been any feedback from pilots about the left-right positioning of the side stick?
@@spencerbrown3875 im sure its perfectly doable. I know the amount of manual flying done in these modern liners keeps getting smaller and smaller, so I'd imagine its not much of an issue for most. I just wonder about how optimal it is compared to a centered stick or an actual yoke.
For sure real life has more FPS than a game xD But whey they hell they didn't put trim there is beyond me. But hey, you can buy an add-on Quadrant Add-on Airbus Edition and it also looks like something worth buying.
The Airbus trims completely on it's own, it's part of the fly-by-wire system. If the pilot pitches up, the airplane automatically trims to keep that pitch angle. The only time you're manually moving the trim is likely when you're setting your trim value at the gate to where you grab it and move it an inch or so and that's it, otherwise you virtually don't touch the trim.
So I bought the throttle, it works perfectly on any other sim but when I load up p3d with this throttles the buttons are aligned to a really weird position, for example when I throttle up the views change. Do you know, how to fix that?
i had the same problem, that's because for some reason many buttons are assigned with different fuctions, for example moving the left lever will change views and moving the right will operate the landing gear instead of the thrust, you will have to go through each key assigment and set the appropiate funcion if necessary. it's very tedious.

Is this real life or flight simulator? ruclips.net/video/htRFz0AlgG4/видео.html
unfortunately i dont fully understand your pro comments but for the ignorant i am the simulator picture is too sharp to be true ! 🤔
Real life
fps of simulation is to low
So the main difference is that you get higher FPS with the real side stick.
Lot more input on the real pilot's stick.
nice 5 frames per second :D
So annoying they are sold out everywhere on the Airbus edition and the honeycomb yoke and throttle. Xbox controller is not cutting it.

All Nav and ATC radios can be operated from either side, so the FO just changed ATC frequency from its side but both pilots are using VHF 1
@@RobT_Cockpit_videos I understand that but when changing freq, he switched to VHF1 (understandable) then switched back to VHF2. Why so?

Como puedo configurar el throttle en fsx?
what is the black and white spinning thing on the real throttle
Close but remember there's only so much that PC flight simulators can emulate from the real thing.
The shaking about from the rough runway in this video is an example... it's bad enough to cause involuntary sidestick deflection

OMG! 10fps in FSX in 2020 😂
why arnt you using fs2020, would make a much better comparison
Possibly because his computer can't run it, he's getting 5 fps on FSX; or that FS2020 has an A320neo, not an A321, while FSX has an A321.
