I put it out there that I wanted her and only her, and when she would go cold, I would back away. She eventually invited me to go out for my birthday, where she tried to make me jealous. Instead of getting jealous, I went to another part of the bar and started talking to another gal. Sure enough, my ex found me and made sure to mention we were leaving together in front of the other girl. When you visit the material enough times it becomes second nature, when things happen in conversation or situations happen you just know what to do.
