    I have the same one 3/4 hp #12. We have had already for at lest 10 years. We do a beef every year, some we go deer hunting, and make sausage. That grinder is for all we need. Great machine.

    Very timely! I'm ready to retire my KitchenAid from grinding duties and the first "comparison" video I watched, the two gals were grinding up chicken BONES! This thing doesn't slow and seemed very quiet. Thank you, and you just gave Cabela's a sale.

    I have the same Grinder, and LOVE IT! You covered all aspects, of it, very well. Very important, to put the parts, in the Freezer, and keep the meat, semi frozen. I have the Jerky Slicer attachment, for mine, and it spits out Jerky Meat, as fast as the grinder grinds meat. Well Done on the Video........Mark

    • @HouseDadLife

      I'm glad I did it justice. Mine is still going strong as well. I'll have to take a look at the jerky attachment, I've tried to make jerky at home a few times without any success.

    If anyone has ever noticed with store bought ground beef, the pink oozy stuff that cooks to the top 😵‍💫…. When you use butcher market quality meat and cook it, no slim stuff!! Like you said, parts is parts at the big chain stores, fillers likely.
    Natural no additives style ground beef, when cooked is fat rendered, clear…period! That’s how you know you’ve got good quality ground beef

    only thing with these grinders is the mince grind, the small one is very hard to clean as bits of meat got stuck in the holes I had to use a kebab stick to get it out

    They're definitely very good grinders I own a Lem simply because replacements are much easier to find and are sold by many different outlets if you own a Cabelas you have no choice but to buy replacement parts from Cabelas you no other options

    • @HouseDadLife
      @HouseDadLife  3 года назад

      That's very good to know. I am hopeful because of build quality this thing will go for a while. It's solid with quality moving parts, hopefully that's the case. I'll post back if I run into any issues.

    • @jimdent351
      @jimdent351 Год назад +1

      Not exactly true. Blue Sky Innovation Group are the ones who make these grinders and they also make for Weston too. Before It became the Carnivore, Weston Butcher Series and Cabela's grinder's were exactly alike. Now the major difference between the two is the sheet metal covering the motor. Other than that they are very much alike still and parts should still be interchangeable. Weston has made a few upgrades to the line they sell but are virtually identical still to the grinders that Cabela's sold 20 years ago. The biggest changes have been to their 1 hp and bigger grinders.

    • @HouseDadLife
      @HouseDadLife  Год назад +1

      This grinder is way overpowered, I can't see you having any trouble. Best tip I can give you, make sure the meat is COLD. Put it in the freezer for an hour before you grind along with the parts and it makes such quick work of anything.

    I am buying a gunder in the next few days, I have probably 700 pounds of beef to grind. I want a machine to last for 50 years and do 1000 pounds of meet a year. THIS that machine? Or buy a bigger one????

    • @HouseDadLife
      @HouseDadLife  11 месяцев назад

      I'm pretty sure this unit would do it, but I would go bigger personally. Keep the gearbox and the metal collar cold to get the most out of it. Let us know what you decide on. LEM is a brand recommended by a butcher friend of 30 plus years if you can't find the size you want with the cabelas model.

    • @HouseDadLife
      @HouseDadLife  3 года назад

      I was told by the salesman when I bought it that there is no need to sharpen them as long as you lubricate parts before each use and assemble them correctly. Not sure if that's accurate, I know mine is still cutting like the day I bought it.

    • @kesselrunheroj8497

    I want to start making brisket burgers at home. trying to decide on what hp i need. What do you recommend?

    • @HouseDadLife
      @HouseDadLife  3 года назад +2

      You would likely be totally okay with a 1/2 hp, but for the extra 50 bucks you get a 3/4 hp, that's why I ended up with this model. I would stay with the carnivore or commercial series grinders. I took the cutting attachments apart at the store, the drive on everything else just looked like it wouldn't stand the test of time. I know this is overkill, but I wanted quality that would last.
