@@nomadicrifleman Cover is your friend. Slow moving old guys get ventilated easy. Thank you for your service too. I watched this video and subscribed. You are an excellent teacher.
I would turn the head sideways to check where you're going on low crawl instead of looking up directly like that. When you're under fire, 3 inches can make a big difference.
I was looking for more videos from you, but you've stopped. This is still my favorite USEFUL "HOW TO" video on RUclips. I've watch it at least five times. I wrote to you a year ago. I hope all is well with you and your Family. ThankQ
First of all, thank you! Seriously it means a lot. There are a number of things we are gathering resources for at the moment but some life perspective changes have changed how we want to handle this channel. I hope that the content and what it contains (lol) is more valuable with the structure. The two biggest projects take a significant amount of resources that we simply don’t have right now and I don’t want to just plug in low value stuff to block up your streams. A test of 556 ammunition for a particular purpose and a base priorities list are the two things we are aiming at with this content to come. Hopefully you start seeing the ammunition tests pop up in the next couple of weeks but even the extra gas to get to the range is out of budget at this exact moment, unfortunately.
Great video. I'm gonna be "that guy" and ask what jacket that is you're wearing here. Seems like it's lightweight but holds up very well to crawling around in snow and brush and stays dry too! Thanks!
Thanks so much for the comment! The jacket is a packable variety of marmot rain fly if I recall? It’s a brand specific spin off of gortex and honestly, at this moment, I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it. It held up okay for about a season but retreating the fabric proved unsatisfactory and the garment started to tear. If you’re on a fairly open budget, it was an excellent jacket for a season but the cost to longevity trade I did not personally find worth it. Now, for a packable jacket you will rarely actually wear, it may do okay. I tried using it as a primary garment. I do like marmot gear though, I just applied this to an inappropriate use haha
Bad ass man, if you have any content ideas or perspectives that others don’t that you’d like to share with the world (all 319 of them currently LOL) hit me up at the email (just the channel page @gmail) once we get set up to do mor videos I want to share perspectives with people they’re not considering with a (wonderful) lack of deployed (training or for real) experience. Doesn’t have to be combat related, security needs, food requirements (how fast a mountain of MREs and water can disappear at an op for example) or just weird experiences. Thanks for the support man, means a lot!
I've been trying to learn this stuff, but when I do it in always hurts my elbow and knees, I think there's a couple of things that aren't very clear. When you pull with your arms, do you pull with your entire forearm, do you use your elbows, do you use your hands, do you have to have your arm at a certain angle to prevent pain or injury? When you push with your legs, do you push with your entire lower leg, do you use you knees, do you use your feet, how do you prevent pain or injury when you twist your legs to straighten them while doing a high crawl? I just need some clarification, when I do a high crawl it hurts my knees everytime I straighten my leg and turn my hips, my elbows hurt when I pull myself forward and my hips pop when I twist them during a high crawl.
Excellent questions! I will absolutely do a video on these questions soon. For now, I have a video on the knee pads I used in the video, I believe it is called "tactical ppe". The knee and joint protection is very important to me, I try to always use knee pads and at least a long sleeve shirt when working on any sort of maneuvers. Of course, this is never comfortable but it shouldn't be flat painful unless going through pavement, gravel, heavy brush or broken debris without protection. I don't know exactly when I can get that video done but I will try to get it up ASAP(: thanks again, have a blessed day!
@@nomadicrifleman Thank you for to quick reply! I don't have any gear and don't really want any, I was just doing it on the carpet in sweatpants and a jacket. I wanted to learn how to crawl because I've been hearing loud booms and bangs that sound like they're on or around my house. If a person is doing it, I wanted to be able to crawl along the floor while listening to where the noises might be coming from so that I can find out the location of the noises without being seen, just in case someone is messing with my house or trying to break in.
@@comorbiddisorder oh wow, that would certainly be unsettling! If you can do like, a modified bear crawl staying under the bottom lip of windows and such, it may be a way to go. Keeping light discipline in mind also may be helpful, lighted indoor areas are very easily seen from darker outdoor areas. Hope it isn't anything serious! Maybe some kids playing with fireworks they likely shouldn't be!
@@nomadicrifleman I'm not sure what it is, we've had quite a few weird noises around our house. Sometimes we hear pounding coming from what seems to be the ceiling, if you've ever heard the thunder-like sound aluminum foil makes when you wave in in the air, it sounds like that, like metal banging. What I've been hearing recently is almost like fireworks, I know that our neighbors have been using fireworks almost all through July, but I know it's not fireworks, it's almost like something is trying to smash through the roof. It's like a big bang, as if something huge smashed into another huge object, sometimes smaller bangs are heard alongside the big one.
