The father in this episode was very loving - it was obvious from their first meeting that he cared about his new kids and their feelings. He comforted Charlotte when she was crying, he took his time to speak to her and listen to her later in the trip when he was seeing that she was still sad. He gave his time to them in order to help them possibly learn and grow while they were in his care. Even if you have everything else in the world to give another person, your time is the MOST valuable gift.

Indian kids are always raised like that and if I'm honest the father in this episode was more linent than most in India including mine. My father loved me more than himself and so does my mother which is why we are taught things the hard way because life isn't easy and mostly every Indian kid is made fimiliar with that idea since the very beginning.
