Hi. I want to start a small mobile welding business and I am at a fix to decide what will work for me. A generator/welding machine or an electric generator then a welding machine.
If my use would be 75% as a generator and 25% as welder, would it be better to get a dedicated genset? I want a reliable genset [diesel] with @ 15kw rating. In other words, is this really a 2 way machine without any real downside on either one?
Whaaaa? Wireless remote control!? Can this feature be incorporated into my 12rc suitcase? So I can still use the suitcase to adjust voltage with less cables?
The wireless remote control is unable to be incorporated into the 12RC feeder as the feeder is already utilizing the 14 pin and the feeder has remote control adjustment features already built into it.
Any tips on keeping them on the lower end of DB’s? Possibly any muffler attachments? I have residential work that requires a certain DB level in order to work certain hours. Anyway, thanks

I’d like to hit lower if possible so I don’t have possibility of getting on the site supers bad side, and I do some work at home with same said welder. I’ve looked at forums, some say an auto muffler, even read about a catalytic converter. I’ve looked into generator mufflers. I’m only worried about creating too much back pressure. I’ve considered an enclosure for the unit, and a fan for air supply, I just don’t know what direction to take
What’s the big advantage to diesel? Diesel fuel is expensive here in Tennessee, does it last longer per tank? Looking at a trailblazer or bobcat for stick weld I and backup power for my home, the diesel versions are twice as expensive, I know the motor will last longer but not sure how much longer and if it’s worth twice as much, thanks
David Spennachio Those big Deutz engines are superb but I have noticed a snag with them. Often the build plate or a copy of it is present on the air duct which is held on with toggle clamps. Either its the bozos who don't have pen and paper handy or maybe Chucky kids but the air ducts often go walkabout.
I have a new Miller Blue Star 185 and was wondering if the SuitCase® X-TREME™ 8VS would be compatible with this machine? If not does Miller make such a thing? I have been trying to research this question for weeks and have found no credible answer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Jake Hettich The Blue Star 185 is for Stick and TIG processes, whereas the SuitCase X-TREME 8VS is only used for MIG processes. If you are looking to MIG weld, we would recommend at least the Bobcat 225. Please let us know if you have any further questions.
Miller welders...Bobcat 250 and Bobcat 250 EFI. Bobcat 250 choke with the option to buy/install electric fuel pump to become"EFI", whereas Bobcat 250 EFI has pump and no choke. What else does the Bobcat 250 EFI process have to make it efficient, in comparison if I installed the fuel pump on the regular BobCat 250? Basically, I'm trying to upgrade as much as I can to Bobcat 250, I just installed fuel pump, and making sure there is good and no loss to function. Although, upgrades are nice, I'm looking for the most out of gasoline efficiency. Bobcat 250 ran for fourteen days during outage in Northeast during Hurricane Sandy. Thank you

I use my trailblazer 302 to power up my entire house including heat pump during power outages. the only thing that makes it grunt is when the water pump starts up under pressure

Can I use the power output of the generator to electrically power a trailer that the welder is on to power the electric motor that is connected to the axle and pull the stuck vehicle out ?

They also shaft you on plugs and cords om maxsters. We switched to esab. They are way better. We weld pipe indoors all day. Try esabs. Had a cord issue years ago the guy jim from miller fed me a line. Never dis anything about it. Guy is a total turd. His cell 414-526-4224. Will lie right to your face. Complete bs. I tell you this guy is. Esab way to go. For engine driven linchon. They wont give you the run around. They will make it right not like this jim guy

i mis the durability on those Miller welders. All machines are thin plated. Cheap plastic tiny knops. plastic wireless remote, this should be designed better. I would made the outside from at least 3MM thick metal
I have a miller bluestar E2 i just got it i weld grate but i would like to get a new engin for it to replace the old cast iron engine if any one knows what engine would work to do that let me know thinks. In also i would hope to get a engine that would run on propane couse im useing it to start a mobil weld in i have a old E350 van that ive bin runing it in in whats happing is the gasoline fumes are bad even with windows in doors opend in i know its old but it is a welder that has bin runing for 30+year in i like the old ones just want to upgrad engine in keep her going so i can buy new one down the line in use this one at home wen i do get a new one. Diesel engines are alot more heavy duty and reliable
I have a Big Blue 400, bought it in '04 and has almost 6000 hours. It has a Duetz 2011 engine, not available any more, bummer.

Yeah go with the trailblazer for sure. If I recall the bobcat only puts out around 4k watts of power while the trailblazer 302 puts out 11k.
