- This Nissan 300ZX is getting a bunch of huge upgrades! The car came in running a built motor on the stock ECU and using E85. The factory manual transmission kept breaking so the customer brought it in for a full BMW 7 speed DCT swap and more. We will be using the Merlin Machining adapter kit, the HTG GCU, Link ECU, and 370z caliper upgrades. We will also be using dual throttle bodies for blips and cuts via the HTG GCU. Unfortunately it has a blown head gasket so we have to fix that also...

Yes! I'm all about this build. Is he doing BBK in the rear?
Also, there aren't a lot of cool Z32 builds so, please keep us updated.
no rear, likely going to some small wheels and larger tires. Thanks!
Epic project guys🤌
I've heard of someone that has replaced the turbos on the z32 without removing the engine, so you could try that route with the head...lol jk taking the engine out would be much better. Good luck!
Great video
waiting to see the next videos, where in MI are you guys located at? I am from Saginaw......Thanks.
we are in shelby township :)
For what ever reason i am struggling to figure out how to wire this up to my AEM V1 😢
Did you do any more videos on this?
Yes coming soon! Back on the projec tnow
@@SeemsLegitGarage Awesome, I am looking forward to seeing more. Thank you
Uhhh did they fix the hgt dct controller? Last I checked it was dookie butter. If it works great I’m interested what documentation you’re using to calibrate and tune?? ?
New software has auto tune, very limited tuning needed.
So drivability compared to a factory car? It’s really ready? Can’t wait to see part two as I own 2 dct bmw cars.
@@kirkmham yes, closed loop vids coming very soon with our dct e46 race car
💪👍💯
What ended up happening with this build? Im curious
waiting on motor to come back
Thats great cant wait to see what it drives like with the drive by wire. Im currently doing this swap as well but i am sticking to the stock throttle bodies
Can you use haltech instead of link ?
Yes the GCU transmission controller can work with any ECU
What is the cost for this conversion?
most are 7-10k in parts
You bench this project couldn't find an update
Yes its been delayed forever, a company was making DBW throttle body's in the stock location and they have been promising them forever. The customer really wants to use those specific ones.
@SeemsLegitGarage ahh.. yup I'm aware and also wanting them on my build. Was told recently that they will be available this summer
@@SeemsLegitGarage could upgrade to the nexus r5 and use dual dbw..
DCT and z32 rear end gearing is far from ideal
It suits the F80 gearset very well, but not the short ratio set from 135 or e90
