Fellow Action Fleet fan/collector here, at least I was back in 1995-1999. You and a couple others have said that the MGS ATAT isn't fully to scale, but honestly? It is or at least so close to it that it really doesn't matter. MGS figures are 1", so based on that we have roughly a 1/72 scale baseline. So 1" = 6 ft, yes? Toy is 11" long, so about 66 ft in the realworld. Current OAL for the ATAT is right at 20 meters or...66 ft. Yeah, i know, I was very pleasantly surprised too! True in the past some sources said the ATAT is 25m long but could be variations or simply newer tech specs w/ the updated canon? Either way it all works out nicely.
As to the interior, lets be honest film sets never 100% scale perfectly in the 1st place + we never see inside an ATAT's rear hold during ESB. We do see the cockpit, and within reason, the 3 seats in the MGS's head are decently close to film accurate. The rear has 2 levels, which canon supports. ATAT can carry 5x speeders, and if you count 1 on the lift here, the MGS fits 5 easily. 40x is the commonly stated number of troops but we're never told if they are seated or standing like on a London bus haha. Lets say 10x in the upper seats & 5x more on speeders. So 25 guys are standing. I think there's enough floorspace here for that? esp if a few are manning the consoles. Only thing, i do wish we had some blaster racks. Kind of like what we got inside Mando's ship?
Interesting.. the Snowspeeder is oversized. It should be 2.9 inches at 1/72 scale. But at 11 inches, the AT AT walker is *undersized.* It should measure 14.16 inches long.
I know its not 100% authentic, but I like using the rope with the Endor version to show troopers repelling out of the belly of the ATAT. I wish we got a little henged door on the other side for them to leave through. It would fit there right infront of the speeder racks...and now i am thinking of a little customizing at 3:00 AM lol. @@ITcollector
The jury is still out. But so far I see alpt of comments like this new line because of the scale and variety. Other like action fleet because of some specific ones details, the display stand and because of the scale they are easier to display.
Just like I've done with most of the Micro Galaxy Squadron, I'm waiting for clearance. I love the AT-AT but there is no way in hell that thing is worth $60. I waited & waited & waited for Boba Fett's Slave-1 to go on clearance & I finally got it yesterday for $15. I can actually enjoy it for that price and not feel ripped-off. I just got Jango Fett's Slave-1 from Target for $10. And that thing is not worth much more considering the paint job is all wrong & I have to completely repaint it to make it look right.
Smart man you are. I've seen several on clearance as well. Unfortunately because of this channel I kinda have to get these as soon as they come out or else I'd be doing the same as you. I agree some of them aren't worth the retail price at all.
Ditto, i picked this up on post-holiday clearance. As to cost though, honestly the old Action Fleet wasn't all that cheap back in the '90s. I am trying to remember what we paid? $10-$15? Put that in an inflation calculator and you get $20-$35 for just the basic toys, and there were some special ones that were bumping $40 even back then (like 2 packs and the larger playsets).
@@misha5670 Yeah, the Action Fleet ships were $9.99. I have no problem paying $13.99 at Walmart for the basic ships. But I think the larger ships like Slave-1 & the Razorcrest should be $19.99 not $32.99. I think the AT-AT should be closer to $40 not $60. And I just got 4 V-wings for $4.46 each at Walgreens. I don't really want to pay full retail for these because they are not the main line I collect. I'm mainly a Transformers/MOTU collector. I can't even afford Transformers anymore.
I have the Endor atat but not the hoth
EXCELLENT review! Very in depth and detailed. I collect the action fleet as well so I'm glad you compared it to the ATAT action fleet.
Thank you. I appreciate it. Stay collecting my friend!
do they not both have the illuminated interior?

They should make a kashyyyk based at-at walker from Jedi fallen order

There is a Hot Wheels Snow Speeder that I believe is a bit smaller.
Yeah I've seen those. I need to get one and compare. If I remember correctly, it's a better scale to this AT-AT
The Hoth one should have had 2 at-at drivers . Needs a bit of weathering
Oh just stick it outside. Friendly neighborhood birds will give it some natural white weathering in just a day or two.
Just curious but does the separate grappling hook that Luke used on Hoth come in the Endor AT AT too?
It sure does. Everything is pretty much the same except the paint job and characters

The hoth one should have snow on the feet
A light all over wash would also help. It does have greeblies, and a light would bring them out nicely.
Which is better in everyone’s opinion
Micro or fleet ?

If MGS keeps doing Clone Wars stuff, it will overtake AF for me personally.@@ITcollector
