    Thank you for a comprehensive discussion of this topic. I’m a former Seventh-day Adventist now a Catholic. SDAs believe that early Christians departed from the teachings of the Apostles when they started to forget about the Sabbath and worship on the pagan Sunday. There’s hardly any support for their theory but that’s what they believe and believe it they must, just to keep their identity.

      @@tafazzi-on-discord Well, after 7 months, I'm don't remember the content of this episode...
      But from what I have written back then, I think my point was that one *can* celebrate a mass at any time in remembrance of the last supper, and call it "the Lord's supper".
      But then (now missing any context I might have had back then) I wonder why we would haggle about an English term. I'm not a native English speaker and in my language we don't call the mass/celebration/remembrance a "supper". We do associate it though, like: At the Eucharist we celebrate the Lord's Supper. But we don't call it like that ("After the Crede we celebrate the Lord's Supper"). I don't know how it is in English, but the early Christians certainly did not call it "The Lord's Supper" (English words) in the first century.

    Was the earth, the heavens, and the seas made only for the people of Israel, or was it made for the whole world? In the same way, the Sabbath was made and left for the whole world. You shall not add or take away anything from the word of God.
    Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. Mat 5:17
    because Abraham obeyed me and did everything I required of him, keeping my commands, my decrees and my instructions. Gen 26:5 (Abraham keep the Sabbath before the teen commands and before israel)
    25 “Eat it today,” Moses said, “because today is a sabbath to the Lord. You will not find any of it on the ground today. 26 Six days you are to gather it, but on the seventh day, the Sabbath, there will not be any.”
    27 Nevertheless, some of the people went out on the seventh day to gather it, but they found none. 28 Then the Lord said to Moses, “How long will you[c] refuse to keep my commands and my instructions? 29 Bear in mind that the Lord has given you the Sabbath; that is why on the sixth day he gives you bread for two days. Everyone is to stay where they are on the seventh day; no one is to go out.” 30 So the people rested on the seventh day. Exod. 16:25-30 (before the teen commandments, before Sinai)
    For whoever keeps the whole law and yet stumbles at just one point is guilty of breaking all of it. James 2:10
    Let us not forget that the Sabbath was instituted even before sin entered the world; it was not only blessed by God but also sanctified. What other day in the Bible holds such importance for God?
    I cannot find a single hint anywhere in the entire Bible that says, 'Brethren, now there are only 9 commandments; God has changed His mind about the Sabbath.' Never, ever should we put false words in God's Word.
    Jesus left us the Lord's Supper to remember Him, and through baptism, we are baptized into His death and resurrection.
    Mark 7:7-9
    These people honor me with their lips,
    but their hearts are far from me.
    7 They worship me in vain;
    their teachings are merely human rules.’
    8 You have let go of the commands of God and are holding on to human traditions.”
    9 And he continued, “You have a fine way of setting aside the commands of God in order to observe your own traditions!
    Jeremiah 6:10,16
    10 To whom can I speak and give warning?
    Who will listen to me?
    Their ears are closed
    so they cannot hear.
    The word of the Lord is offensive to them;
    they find no pleasure in it.
    16 This is what the Lord says:
    “Stand at the crossroads and look;
    ask for the ancient paths,
    ask where the good way is, and walk in it,
    and you will find rest for your souls.
    But you said, ‘We will not walk in it.’
    Anyway, tell me, what logic is there in the fact that Jesus kept the Sabbath, the apostles kept the Sabbath, that the apostle Paul went to the synagogue on the Sabbath as was his custom, and that the early Christians kept the Sabbath until around 100 A.D., only for some to gradually decide to change it to Sunday and, eventually, through a council, officially change it from Saturday to Sunday? It wasn't God, it wasn't Jesus Christ, it wasn't the apostles or Paul; it was a council. In the Bible, things are clear-God is not a God of confusion. 'He does nothing without revealing it to His servants the prophets.
    This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. 3 In fact, this is love for God: to keep his commands. And his commands are not burdensome. 1 John 5: 2-3
    It's not only about one day, it's a symbol, it's the sign of God, his sealing, his perfect plan concluded. It is not just about the day, is HIS day because he take that day as a symbol for all the eternity, like the " cherry on the cake" the way that God chose to be, and he decided this even before the creation, like all the things, God's plans are perfectly thought out in detail even before they are made, transcending our traditions or understandings.
    How we can still keep changing God words, trying to be God in the place of God?
    12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus. Rev. 14:12
    God bless you all my brothers, love you ❤

      @@vesky_sv7 if you now apply the same logic to the issue of circumcision, you’ll have an answer. And how was that issue resolved? Through a council.

    • @vesky_sv7
      @vesky_sv7 18 дней назад

      @@TheCatholicBrothers Hi. We are taking of different things here:
      The change of circumcision to a non-mandatory practice for Gentile Christians was part of a transition from ceremonial shadows to the reality in Christ, but there is no equivalent for the Sabbath in the Scriptures.
      The Sabbath was instituted at creation, reaffirmed before and in the Ten Commandments, and kept by Jesus, the apostles, and the early Christians. There is no biblical basis to assert that God or Christ authorized a change from Sabbath to Sunday. Any such change was introduced by human traditions, not by divine command.
      Jesus warned in Mark 7:7-9 that it is dangerous to “set aside the commandment of God to follow the traditions of men.”
      Circumcision was instituted as a sign of the covenant between God and Abraham and was part of a ceremonial covenant that pointed to Christ. However, these laws were symbolic, is not moral law or a commandment.
      However, even if you want to see that it's was abolish by a council, that was abolish by the apostles of Jesus inspired by the holy spirit. And you can finde this in the Bible so, at least you have an evidence of that, but not for the change of the Sabbath.
      Also, Iarael had a system of sacrifices and festivals, an image of what was to come, which symbolized Christ, his sacrifice and resurrection. Christ was the perfect fulfillment of it. The sacrificial system reached its culmination and Jesus, as we are told in Hebrews, is high priest in the heavenly sanctuary.
      Regards

      Judaism, like Christianity, is a religion. Religion is the work of the Whore of Babel (Rev 17:6). Catholicism is the mother (Rev 17:5), sects are its offspring. Judaism starts the day at sundown instead of at sunup as ordained by the Word. (The world starts the day in the middle of the night). @@TheCatholicBrothers Those religiously persuaded are ensnared in the Whore's net (Rev 17:1-2). Come out of it (Rev 18:4).
      Download a copy of the Scripture with an accompanying lexicon, start at Genesis and end at the last word in Revelation. One by one, from Hebrew to Aramaic to Greek, compare the words in the translation to the lexicon and note any discrepancies. Though this is a tedious exercise and takes a while, it is a worthwhile investment into Messiah - the Way, Truth, and Immortality.
      During the exercise, note names starting with a J really have a Y sound. For example: H 3290 - Ya'aqob translated as Jacob; H 3124 - Yonah translated as Jonah; H 3383 - Yarden translated as Jordan. Jesus (EA Zeus) dies upon this truth. The two spies Mosheh sent out were Caleb of the tribe of Yehudah and Yahusha of the tribe of Ephrayim. The name of Yahusha of the tribe of Ephrayim is the same as Messiah YAHUSHA of Natsaret. To check, refer to Hebrews 4:8. G 2424 - older translations state Jesus, newer ones read Joshua. G 2424 is the Messiah's name. This is the secret and the key.
      Once one realizes Jesus is the incorrect name, and only one name saves (Acts 4:12), the next logical step is knowing Messiah's true name. There is a buffet of names out there on offer to choose from. Only the Pure Spirit of Sovereign YAHUEH reveals Truth (Yahukhanan 15:26-27; 16:13). Messiah's name is a PIN/Password, so know both the Creator's name and the Messiah's name (Pro 30:4). Help: The name of the Highest is comprised of four vowel sounds - ee; ah; oo; eh. YAHUEH is a transliteration. Messiah's name translated means YAHU saves (Mat 1:21). Messiah literally and figuratively comes in the name of the Highest. HalleluYAH - translated is Praise you YAH. YAH and YAHU are short versions of YAHUEH. List for the YAH (ee - ah) sound at the end of many Scripture writers and servants of the Highest.
      There is no coming to Sovereign YAHUEH except through Messiah YAHUSHA (Yahukhanan 14:6) and there is no coming to Messiah YAHUSHA of Natsaret unless Sovereign YAHUEH desires it so (Yahukhana 6:44; 6:65). Those attaining to the first resurrection were first drawn to Messiah by Abba YAH (Rom 8:15; Gal 4:16).
      The high and excellent goal is attaining to the coming first resurrection (Rev 20:5-6). The sealed and protected against the seven trumpets (Rev 7:1-8; 9:4) - the martyr's for Sovereign YAHUEH and Messiah YAHUSHA of Natsaret - are the Body of Messiah YAHUSHA of Natsaret. Messiah YAHUSHA of Natsaret is Sovereign YAHUEH's Lamb and Heir.
      Religion and tradition are idolatrous traps. Many are called, few (144,000 - Rev 7:1-8; 14:1-5) - the Remnant (Rev 12:17) - attain to the first resurrection.
