@@Epic_Curious Col 2:14-17 in context tells us this is speaking about an ordinance. 'Meat and drink' in context of the Sabbath indicate that its speaking about 'feast' Sabbath of the sanctuary service, which were all a shadow of the Messiah and were nailed to the cross. The 7th day Sabbath of YHVH however was not nailed to the cross. You can read the difference in Leviticus 23. Verses 37-38 provides the 'thus saith YHVH' answer to this confusion which Satan created for God's followers.

Brother Godfrey was spot on when he spoke on the waning of the American church. We are falling away from God and His holy Word. Most people no longer know what the church service is for let alone knowing how to worship God properly.

21:07 what baffles me is how is it in reading the scriptures we missed the fact that the Lord gave Manna six days, but on the sixth day, you had to gather twice as much because on the Seventhday there would be none? He had not spoken the words from Mount Sinai yet. The reason? It’s because he had given us the sabbath before sin just like marriage in the garden of Eden.
How many times in the Scriptures do we have examples of what happened to God’s people when they forgot the Sabbath? Even Jesus and Matthew 24 warned may your flight be not in winter on Sabbath!

Altho we can and should pray, glorify the Lord and study His Word any other day of the week, only one day was set apart by God himself...the 7th day Sabbath. Sunday is not the 7th day. It is the first day of the week. Jesus did not change the Sabbath to sunday because he rose on sunday. I would challenge anyone to look in their Bible and find any verse that specifically says and/or commands us to observe Sunday instead of Saturday sabbath....its just not there my brothers and sisters.

I listened intently for an answer on the Sabbath question, and none came, as if the true question had been skirted, that's because there is NO biblical evidence of the Lord Jesus Christ or his disciples ever changing it from Saturday to the Sunday.
The 4th commandment is an eternal, everlasting covenant, for all time. It is in the centre (heart) of the decalog. And everything pivots around the Creator of the universe, if you break one of the commandments you might as wall have broken them all, because this is what the human heart is intent on doing all the time, that is going against God.
The Catholic Jesuits have already made a mockery of the original ten commandments eons ago. Since God has not changed the day from the 7th to the 1st this means that Man did, so who are we then to follow, God or the Jesuits. Since most of these Learned men before you are trained in Jesuit colleges it is only natural for them to tow the party line on the sabbath / Sunday and everything in between.
Therefore brethren do not be deceived by wolves in sheep's clothing dragging as many as possible into the deception of the Jesuit led Catholic church. Nearly all denominations are bowing down to the false god of ecumenism, and back to the mother church, Roman Catholicism, the religion of Dagon.
So then this is what I have always believed the Sabbath to be.
"The gracious Creator, after the six days of Creation, rested on the seventh day and instituted the Sabbath for all people as a memorial of Creation. The fourth commandment of God’s unchangeable law requires the observance of this seventh-day Sabbath as the day of rest, worship, and ministry in harmony with the teaching and practice of Jesus, the Lord of the Sabbath. The Sabbath is a day of delightful communion with God and one another. It is a symbol of our redemption in Christ, a sign of our sanctification, a token of our allegiance, and a foretaste of our eternal future in God’s kingdom. The Sabbath is God’s perpetual sign of His eternal covenant between Him and His people. Joyful observance of this holy time from evening to evening, sunset to sunset, is a celebration of God’s creative and redemptive acts. (Gen. 2:1-3; Exod. 20:8-11; 31:13-17; Lev. 23:32; Deut. 5:12-15; Isa. 56:5, 6; 58:13, 14; Ezek. 20:12, 20; Matt. 12:1-12; Mark 1:32; Luke 4:16; Heb. 4:1-11.)" Copied and pasted.

Here is an interesting fact: The seventh creative "day", God's day of rest, is still in effect, it has not ended yet. The "days" of creation are not 24 hour days as many preachers think, each day covers thousands of years.

@@olgaburgos7780 The word "Day" is used in many ways other than meaning 24 hours. “God brought about a division between the light and the darkness. And God began calling the LIGHT Day, but the darkness he called Night.” (Ge 1:4, 5)
HERE THE WORD "DAY" REFERS TO THE DAYLIGHT HOURS in contrast with the nighttime. However, the record thereafter goes on to use the word “day” to refer to other units of time of varying length. In both the Hebrew and the Greek Scriptures, THE WORD "DAY" (Heb., yohm; Gr., he·meʹra) IS USED IN A LITERAL AND IN A FIGURATIVE OR EVEN SYMBOLIC SENSE.
This flexible use of the word “day” to express units of time of varying length is clearly evident in the Genesis account of creation. Therein is set forth a week of six creative days followed by a seventh day of rest. The week assigned for observance by the Jews under the Law covenant given them by God was a miniature copy of that creative week. (Ex 20:8-11)
In the Scriptural record the account of each of the six creative days concludes with the statement: “And there came to be evening and there came to be morning” a first, second, third, fourth, fifth, and sixth day. (Ge 1:5, 8, 13, 19, 23, 31) THE SEVENTH DAY, HOWEVER, DOES NOT HAVE THIS ENDING, INDICATING THAT THIS PERIOD, GOD'S "REST DAY", DID NOT END THEN, IT CONTINUED ON.
At Hebrews 4:1-10 the apostle PAUL INDICATED THAT GOD'S REST DAY WAS STILL CONTINUING IN HIS GENERATION, MORE THAN 4,000 YEARS AFTER THE SEVENTH-DAY REST PERIOD BEGAN. This makes it evident that each creative day, or work period, was at least thousands of years in length.
As A Religious Encyclopædia (Vol. I, p. 613) observes: “THE DAYS OF CREATION WERE CREATIVE DAYS, STAGES IN THE PROCESS, BUT NOT DAYS OF TWENTY-FOUR HOURS EACH. ”-Edited by P. Schaff, 1894.

Did John worship on a Sabbath as an apostle? I don't think so. They went to the synagogues, including Jesus to teach because synagogues were common places where people gathered to study the laws and maybe add a little politics. And most of them who were in the synagogues were hypocrites and Pharisees who Jesus himself condemned. But why did John use the phrase The Lord's Day and not the Sabbath?

Question: what evidence do you have that “the Lord‘s day, “spoken of by John in revelation, is referring to the first day of the week? John was a Jew, a commandment keeper, since sin is the transgression of the law. It only stands to reason that John was speaking of the Sabbath Day, the seventh day. I’m sure you know this but I’ll say it anyways, there is no biblical evidence for the changing of that day from The seventh to the first day of the week. God‘s law is eternal. It’s baffling to me that while simultaneously saying that it was ordained at creation we can then go on to say that it was changed, something for which there is no biblical evidence whatsoever. Stop adding your own meanings to the clear word of God. The definition of the Lords Day is clear. The definition of the new covenant is clear, (Jeremiah 31:31 “Behold, the days are coming, says the LORD, when I will make a NEW COVENANT with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah- 32 “not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt, My covenant which they broke, though I was a husband to them,* says the LORD. 33 “But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, says the LORD: I will put My law in their minds, and write it on their hearts; and I will be their God, and they shall be My people.”)
The Bible is very clear friends. The 7th Day is the Sabbath, and no man has the authority to change God’s Law! BUT! The Bible does say that a power would rise up in the stream of time that would “think to change times and laws..” (Daniel 7:25) I’d like to submit to you that this happened when the Roman Papacy at the council of Laodicea in 364 AD changed the Sabbath to Sunday. Just Google it!
All of these theological gymnastics to try and make the Bible say what it doesn’t is not of God!

My Dear Friends: Brothers, Sisters. I humbly call on you to consider this: If the Sabbath commemorates the creation and points to who is the Creator why would the day change. Consider this comparison: In the creation story the Creator "finished/completes/ended" His work of creation on the sixth day (Friday) rested on the seventh (Sabbath/Saturday [see, Genesis 2:2]); on the other hand, Christ (The Creator and Redeemer) "finished/completed/ended" His work of Redemption/Recreation the sixth day and rested on the seventh in the tomb and rose on the first day to continue doing His Father's will. Noticed that both of these great work, by the same Being/Person (Christ), resulted in resting on the seventh day Sabbath. In this, the Sabbath has taken on a more profound meaning: in Christ, the Prophet like unto Moses [i.e, The Law Giver, compare Deuteronomy 18:15-19; Acts 7:37 and Genesis 49:10], has been revealed the fullness of all things that was kept secret from the foundation of the earth, that is, God is Creator and Redeemer, and besides Him there is no salvation.
Moreover, there is only one day, based on Scriptural evidence that can be referred to as "the Lord's day:" the seventh day Sabbath. WHY? Because all these verses say so: Exodus 20: 8-11; Isaiah 58:13; Ezekiel 20:12&13; Matthew 12:8; Mark 2:28; and therr is not one linking the Lord's day to Sunday but can only be found in the Justinian Decree of 321 A.D by Emperor Constantine and the Catholic catechism in later years. Please I beg you.... Do the research for yourself. God bless you greatly.

Unfortunately, many Christians are not aware that after about 360 AD, when Catholicism had gained a foothold of authority, Saturday observance of Sabbath began to become supplanted, although much of the early eastern churches still refused to stop keeping the Sabbath. The abolition of the Sabbath began when Sunday began being celebrated as a day of resurrection. It became known as "the Lords Day". However, "The Lords day" phrase was used 300 years before that, when John wrote the book of Revelation. He, at that time, was referring to the true Sabbath. 'The Lords day' belongs to Christ, as it is referred to as such by Christ Himself (The Son of Man is "Lord of the Sabbath") and in the OT -, e.g., _“If because of the sabbath, you turn your foot From doing your own pleasure on _*_My holy day,_*_ And call the sabbath a delight, _*_the holy day of the LORD honorable,_*_ And shall honor it, desisting from your own ways, From seeking your own pleasure, And speaking your own word, Then you will take delight in the LORD, And I will make you ride on the heights of the earth; And I will feed you with the heritage of Jacob your father, For the mouth of the LORD has spoken.”_ (Isa 58:13-14, NASB 77) - As you can see from the text in Isaiah, God calls the Sabbath HIS holy day. Therefore, John would never surmise or assume it could be any other day. Friday Sundown, to Saturday Sundown is Gods Holy Day - and has been from the day HE Himself first kept it on the 7th day if creation. Immediately after he had "rested", he made a declaration that he "Blessed it" and He "Hallowed it" (Set apart for special use). Note that The Lords Holy Day was in place before the fall of Adam and Eve. This means it was never a "shadow", like the feasts, or other Sabbath days, which were feast days. The Holy Sabbath of God is still Holy, and blessed. That has never changed.
Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their hosts. And by the seventh day God completed His work which He had done; and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done. *_Then God blessed the seventh day and sanctified it, because in it He rested from all His work which God had created and made._* (Gen 2:1-3, NASB 77)

All commandments are fulfilled in Christ, but we do not discard them, Jesus magnified them all for us to imitate. The Lords Day is not Sunday but the day of His coming and His worship day.The Lord never changed His mind on what He ordered for His creation. We have the spiritual Sabbath rest in Jesus every day and that is the sabbath of salvation but the weekly Sabbath, Saturday, is to be the remembering of His love, creation and salvation and to worship in gratitude for all His blessing and grace. This is a great video that should make pastors re-establish the church going on Saturdays to keep the obedience to God’s fourth blessed commandment as we should also keep the other nine. This discussion was and is necessary in all the Sunday keeping churches that need to demonstrate what they usually teach to their congregations to obey God’s commandments for sanctification and the glory of our God.

The proper grammatical order of Rev 1:10 when translated into English is "The Day of the Lord", not the Lords Day. John was in the distant future on the prophetic "day of the Lord" seeing the judgements come upon the earth. It has not one thing to do with the day of the week. It was just a weak attempt to create an anti-Sabbath verse by crooked translators with a Catholic bent mindset and belief system.

The chief difference between the biblical Sabbath and so called "Christian Sabbath" is that the former is commanded to be kept by God while the latter is man's made with no mentioning of it in the Scriptures.

Having Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Gentleness, Faithfulness, and Self Control.

Hebrews 3 the Israelites could not enter into that rest because they lacked faith. Hebrews 4:1 This is a warning that we have a promise of rest but we can come short of entering it as the children of Israel did. The Greek word for rest here is (katapausis) a putting to rest, Calming of the winds, a resting place.
Heb. 4:2 - 3 The gospel has been preached from the beginning. In types and now unto us by Jesus. But some lacked faith to believe the types.
Heb. 4:4 The 7th day was a memorial to remind us of this completed work, from the very beginning.
Heb 4:6-7 They didn't enter in but the promise still stands so there will be people who will enter in. As a nation the Jews had rejected that rest which we find in a Person. The gentiles were given an opportunity and many of them entered into that Rest that the many Jews rejected, but not all gentiles received it. Faith is paramount for receiving this rest.
Heb 4:8 The Door for entering that rest was still open in David's day, and praise the Lord It is still available for any by faith to enter in.
Heb 4:9 There remained therefore a rest (sabbatismos, not katapusis) The only time this Sabbatismos is used in Heb. 4. Interesting.
Look.. Hebrews contains multiple chiasms. I'll just show you one here in this Chapter.
      A. Heb. 4:2 Gospel not combined with faith
      B. Heb. 4:3 Do not rest in completed work
      C. Heb. 4:4 God rests on the 7th Day

B'. Heb 4:10 Rest in God's completed work (cease from their own)

You can argue incessantly about this issue, unfortunately people try to implement their own rationale to this commandment. God ordained from the beginning that we keep His commandments, not nine but all 10, IF we love Him. It's a matter of obedience and worship. Completely erroneous on this topic....

Does it have to say it? The practice in the NT was a Sunday - first day. They met Jews of Israel for worship on Saturday to reach out to them. All laws of the 9 commands are repeated in NT except Saturday Sabbath. The meaning of Sabbath is salvation in christ. The Sabbath of the OT was pointing to that...Hebrews 4. But if that's the day you sure is right God bless you. If you think I will go to hell as some do cause I worship on a Sunday I know that's totally wrong.

So let’s start at judgement day when , the pastor tells God but I casted demons, heal the sick in your name but God answer depart from me because I don’t know you. Why ? Well God said if we were to break one of his commandments it was like breaking all of them. He also said many were to be worshiping Him in vain. Why ? Simply because we are following mans tradition. God also prophecied that a church and government were to change Gods laws and seasons, Daniel 7:25 God established the day to begin and end at sundown while man has change it to midnight. God established the beginning of the new year during beginning of spring, while man changed it to the fall. I grew up in the apostolic faith and always heard the preachers talk about the rapture that After God picks up the church that the gospel was no longer going to be preached but then why in revelation the elders asked Gods who are this great multitude of saints coming out of the great tribulation. Well they are all these Christians today that will be corrected to understand that we were lied to that we are not supposed to keeping the laws because it was done away and now live understand grace .

It surprises me this topic has ever been a topic of debate. As I began studying this topic in 2005, it became abundantly clear the 7th day Sabbath is to be observed. Not for salvation, but for obedience. I've studied as many scholars, teachers, etc. as I can and I have heard literally zero good arguments for Sunday/1st day of the week observance over Sabbath observance. There's certainly no scriptures teaching this. I've come to believe, painfully, this isn't a head/cognitive issue; it's a heart issue. Scholars know the Sabbath was not transferred to Sunday. The reference to "the Lord's day" is referring to the Lord coming in judgment. Look up the single reference for this in Rev. 1:10 and then look up the references for "the day of the Lord" and, if you're honest, you'll see this is correct. Jesus was not resurrected on the 1st day of the week. Even if He was, it doesn't change Sabbath observance. If you ask 100 pastors why "we" worship on Sunday, they'll all tell you it's because Jesus rose from the dead on Sunday. So, if He rose on the Sabbath, would you immediately change your day of service from Sunday to Sabbath? Because Jesus rose from the dead at the end of the Sabbath. To assist in the study, biblical days begin with dawn not sunset. Meaning the 24 hour clock begins with dawn, not sunset. I'm not just speaking of the daylight portion. I love all of my brothers and sisters who disagree and I believe they are still saved as salvation is found only in Jesus. I hope they feel the same towards me.

The Hebrews began their day in the evening, after sunset, and ended it the next day at sunset. The day, therefore, ran from evening to evening. “From evening to evening you should observe your sabbath.” (Le 23:32)
Although the Hebrews officially began their day in the evening, they sometimes spoke of it as if beginning in the morning. For example, Leviticus 7:15 says: “The flesh of the thanksgiving sacrifice of his communion sacrifices is to be eaten on the day of his offering. He must not save up any of it until morning.” This usage was doubtless simply a matter of convenience of expression, to indicate overnight.

@@truthbetold8610 Thanks for responding. I always appreciate the long distance dialogue we're able to have over these topics.
The Hebrews did not begin their day in the evening after sunset. The verse you quote in Lev. 23:32, which speaks of the observance of the "affliction" during the Day of Atonement is a key verse disproving your position on the day beginning at sunset.
I want you to think about this for a moment. It might take a moment for it to settle in, but it can be a big "ah ha" moment for you. Go slowly. You'll see the sunset theory dissolve in your mind.
Firstly, how many evenings (after sunset) are there in a 24 hour period? One, right? Hopefully that was your answer. Now, think about what this verse is saying. The basis of v32 is v27. The Day of Atonement is the 10th day. V32 speaks of the "affliction" beginning on the 9th day "at evening". We are seeing two different days here.
Now, think about this...according to sunset theory, when is the evening of the 9th day? Is it at the dividing line of the 9th and 10th? No, it is not. That evening would belong to the 10th day, not the 9th. The evening of the 9th day would be at the dividing line of the 8th and 9th days. You might want to draw this on paper. There is no sleight of hand or trickery here.
It's a wonderful study, but if you take the time to look up events unfolding throughout scripture, you will undoubtedly see the days do not change when sunset arrives. I hope you will investigate this. It brings an entirely new/better understanding to the scriptures.
Unfortunately, we have all been duped into buying into this idea of the sunset theory because Jews today do it. From the very beginning of the bible in Genesis 1, we see the days beginning during the daylight portion of the very first day, not at sunset. Gen. 1:5 in Hebrew says it BECAME evening, and it BECAME morning. The work was done during the daylight portion and the day continued to be the first day until morning arrived.
Additionally, think about what "evening" really is. It's a MIXTURE of light and darkness. In order to have evening at all, you must have daylight. There so much more to this as this is literally the tip of the proverbial iceberg. I wish you the best on your continued studies, my friend.

@@aletheiaquest I do enjoy comparing information on different Bible topics, thank you for sharing your information.
Gen 1:5 requires more research on what the word "Day" referred to. Creative "days" were not 24 hours each, they were much longer.
Notice that on each creative "day' that God stated
(Genesis 1:5) GOD CALLED THE LIGHT DAY, but THE DARKNESS HE CALLED NIGHT. And there was evening and there was morning, a first day.
This is God speaking of day in the meaning of day LIGHT, we wouldn't refer to night as "day" even if a 24 hour day started at sunset.
If one were unbendingly literal, they could interpret the statement "there was evening and there was morning, a first day", as meaning the entire day was from sunset to daylight.
In both the Hebrew and the Greek Scriptures, the word “day” (Heb., yohm; Gr., he·meʹra) is used in a literal and in a figurative or even symbolic sense.
So, why do I say that a creative "day" is much longer than 24 hours?
At the conclusion of each "day" of creation, God made the statement "Then God saw that it was good", and at the end of the sixth day , "After that God saw everything he had made, and look! it was very good." (Gen 1:31) This statement is NOT MADE for His "day" of rest because it is Not yet complete!
(Hebrews 4:3) For we who have exercised faith do enter into the rest, just as he has said: “SO I SWORE IN MY ANGER, 'THEY WILL NOT ENTER INTO MY REST", although his works were finished from the founding of the world.
Paul indicated that God’s rest day was still continuing in his generation, and that was more than 4,000 years after that seventh-day rest period began. This makes it evident that each creative day, or work period, was at least thousands of years in length. As A Religious Encyclopædia (Vol. I, p. 613) observes: “The days of creation were creative days, stages in the process, but not days of twenty-four hours each.”-Edited by P. Schaff, 1894.
I felt it necessary to first know the use of the word "day" regarding creation. But when does the 7th day end? We could discuss that if you wish.

      @aletheiaquest 2 года назад

@@truthbetold8610 Thanks again for your response. This is always fun for me, especially when the dialogue is friendly.
I believe there is no further study required, as a whole, in order for "us" to understand the meaning of "day" in the scriptures; I think we have it figured out. I've completed an exegetical study of every occurrence of the word "day" in the bible, and each instance is quite easy to interpret. It seems the only place in the bible where people do this is Genesis 1-2.
Your point regarding Gen. 1:5 is a logical fallacy called "the unwarranted expansion of an expanded semantic field". Just because a word has different meanings within different contexts has no bearing on it's meaning within the confines of the particular passage in review. The question is not "what is the range of meanings for the word 'day' in every passage?" It's "what does 'day' mean in (insert whatever verse you like)".
Due to the context in Gen. 1:5, we can see "day" means the daylight portion of the full day. So, whereas we might say, "back in my father's day", we would never say, "back in my father's night". Context determines the meaning, just like with every other word we use.
"Literal" means "according to the literature". Where a passage is prophetic, take it prophetically; where it is poetic, take it poetically; where it is historical, take it historically.
You're correct regarding God's evaluation of His creation at the end of each CREATIVE day. That's the difference. Day 7 was not a creative day; it was a day of rest, so it does not require the same verbiage. Gen. 1:31 concludes the 6 days of God's actions of creating. Gen. 2:1 shows this as well, "Thus the heavens and the earth were finished, and all the host of them." V2 shows, "by the 7th day, God finished His work". There is a difference between creative days and the day of rest.
Your reference to Heb. 4:3...Notice this verse shows that it is believers who enter that rest, not nonbelievers. If we're still in the 7th day, then the entire world is in this rest. And, if we're still in the 7th day, we're still in the Sabbath rest, which means none of us should be working because we're all breaking the Sabbath! And, can you tell me the verbiage the bible used to say the 7th day began? There's no phrase, "there was evening and there was morning". If we're going to be so "literal", then we need some verbiage telling us this unending 7th day actually began.
And, if we are still in the unending 7th day, then God not only blessed and sanctified the 7th day, but He also issued the curse of Gen. 3 on the same day. This would completely abolish the meaning of "sanctify (which means to "set apart").
Lastly, Adam lived to be 930 years old-Gen. 5:5. But, the 1st day of his life was before the 7th day Sabbath. If the 7th day was not a literal, normal day, just like the previous 6, how do we make sense of the fact that his age includes days, weeks, months, and years in order to total 930 years? Adam and Eve lived through the 7th day before being driven out of the Garden.
Thanks for the dialoguing, my friend. Even if you disagree, I hope you find something of value within my response. I wish you the very best in your continued studies of this very important topic. Much love.

@@aletheiaquest Good to hear from you again! I'd like to comment, first of all, on Hebrews 4:3. If only believers enter His rest, then the whole world won't since they are not all believers, only a small number are. Besides that, this is GOD'S day of rest, it doesn't apply to humans and also who were the "believers" that are being addressed?
First century Christians were all anointed with Holy Spirit as Jesus was, that set them apart as a special group with a Heavenly calling. ( Eph 1:13,14) (1Pe 1:3, 4) (Re 20:6) Jesus referred to these as a "Little Flock", indicating they would be few in number. (Luke 12:32)
Jesus was anointed directly by Jehovah, and his congregation of spiritual brothers receive their anointing as a body of people through Jesus Christ. (Ac 2:1-4, 32, 33) They have thereby received an appointment from God to be kings and priests with Jesus Christ in the heavens.
Contrary to the teachings of Christendom, these chosen ones number 144,000 and are the only Christians with a Heavenly destiny.
(Revelation 14:1) Then I saw, and look! the Lamb standing on Mount Zion, and with him 144,000 who have his name and the name of his Father written on their foreheads.
God closes the 6th day and starts the 7th day.
(Genesis 2:1-3) Thus the heavens and the earth and everything in them were completed.  And by the seventh day, God had completed the work that he had been doing, and he began to rest on the seventh day from all his work that he had been doing.  And God went on to bless the seventh day and to declare it sacred, for on it GOD HAS BEEN RESTING from all the work that he has created, all that he purposed to make.
The Bible count of time shows that it is now close to six thousand years since God began ‘resting’ from his creative works on earth. Just ahead of us lies the thousand-year reign of Christ, by the end of which God’s purpose of filling the earth with a happy human family will have been accomplished. God’s ‘rest day’ will then end. This would indicate that this ‘rest day’ would be of seven thousand years’ duration. (Genesis 1:28; Revelation 20:4) It is reasonable to conclude that each of the six preceding “days” of creation would occupy similar periods of time.
This is the reason Jesus is called the "Lord of the Sabbath" since his Kingdom rule will complete the 7th day and all will be restored to perfection.
(1 Corinthians 15:24-26) Next, the end, when he hands over the Kingdom to his God and Father, when he has brought to nothing all government and all authority and power.  For he must rule as king until God has put all enemies under his feet.  And the last enemy, death, is to be brought to nothing.
(1 Corinthians 15:28) But when all things will have been subjected to him, then the Son himself will also subject himself to the One who subjected all things to him, that God may be all things to everyone.

Jesus amplified on the commandments, for example explaining adultery can cover the look as well as the act. Similarly I have come to see we are not to work for salvation but to 'Sabbath' or 'rest' in Christ in this our Day of opportunity (i.e. all of our converted life) to make sure that our day is kept holy, by living a sanctified walk with Him (as well as help from the Comforter), with the 'Lord of the Sabbath'. What was nailed to the cross (Colossians 2) were the ceremonial laws and ordinances that pointed forward to Christ, not the law of God, of which the Sabbath is a part. For to entertain the notion that the law of God was "nailed to the cross" would insinuate that God now allows humanity to have other gods besides Him, take His Name in vain, dishonor one's parents, commit murder and adultery, steal, bear false witness and covet our neighbor's spouses and possessions; and that notion is illogical and absurd.

True SABBATH was never a Sunday! The special day is the seventh day, Saturday! There was never a shift in the New Testament to the first day!
Matthew, Mark, Luke &John wrote the accounts of Christ’s death and resurrection. Yes, He died, then prepared to be buried on “preparation day” which true Sabbath keeping Christians & Jews know as Friday. Matt. 27:62-63; 28:1, Mark 15:42; 16:1-2; Luke 23:56; 24:1; John 19:42; 20:1 and just like Paul in Corinthians, it wasn’t wrong for Mr. D Moorman to say “according to the scripture” or “according to the Bible” @Brent&KathyBesosa
Yes, a Bible reading follower would need to read other verses to be clear. All these disciples wrote as witnesses to Christ our Savior’s death and resurrection. Preparation day, meaning Friday, was mentioned; the ending of the Sabbath (7th Day) was mentioned and the first day of the week, (now known as Sunday) was mentioned. It’s not wrong to do God’s work on the Sabbath as explained in Isaiah 58.

Keeping or observing the weekly 7th day Sabbath really shouldn’t be controversial at all. Here’s why ... It is this very special day that our Creator rested on, blessed, hallowed and sanctified (Gen. 2:2,3; Exo. 20:11) at the creation of our world and asks us to keep holy and celebrate every week as a memorial of His awesome creative power. This day that God calls “My holy day” and that we His people should call a delight and honorable (Isa. 58:13) clearly means a lot to God so it should mean a lot to us. He enshrined it in the very heart of His great 10 commandment moral law which is the only part of the Bible that God directly wrote with His finger on tables of stone signifying its permanence (Exodus 31:18). The weekly 7th day Sabbath was so holy and precious to Jesus that He not only taught the people what was and wasn’t lawful to do on this day (Matt. 12:12) but He encouraged His followers to pray for decades after His death and resurrection that when they needed to flee from tribulation they wouldn’t have to do so on the holy Sabbath (Matt. 24:20). And then again Jesus' grief stricken disciples after His crucifixion knowing His sacred regard for the Sabbath which they shared postponed the embalming of His body until after the Sabbath. As Luke reports on it many years later in Luke 23:56 "Then they returned and prepared spices and fragrant oils. And they rested on the Sabbath according to the commandment." This confirms that the Sabbath is indeed 1 of God's commandments in His "holy, just and good" law (Romans 7:12). This blessed day is so special to God that He promises when He recreates a spectacular brand new world for the redeemed of all nations, “all flesh” will come together every Sabbath to worship and praise Him (Isa 66:23). So let’s in loving obedience to Jesus our God and Creator enjoy and celebrate Him by receiving the special blessing He offers everyone who keeps His holy day (Isa. 58:14). The weekly 7th day Sabbath is a wonderful gift to all of us because it's special, set apart relationship time with our Creator and Redeemer which is why Jesus said "The Sabbath was made (created) for mankind" (Mark 2:27). And if you have any doubt that Jesus wants His saved by grace people to obey His commandments including the 4th commandment 7th day Sabbath out of love for Him and because they are saved you only need to read the following verses:
John 14:15 - If you love Me keep My commandments.
Ecclesiastes 12:13 - Fear God and keep His commandments for this is the whole duty of man.
1 Corinthians 7:19 - Keeping the commandments of God is what matters.
Revelation 14:12 - Here is the patience of the saints who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus.
Revelation 12:17 - And the dragon was enraged with the woman and went to make war with the rest of her offspring who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 22:14 - Blessed are those who do His commandments that they may have the right to the tree of life and may enter through the gates into the city.
May God bless you all as you open your heart to His leading on this important test of our willingness to obey Him in all things.

The Sabbath is not a law instituted at creation but under the Mosaic Covenant - Some say that the Sabbath is a command of God given in Genesis. To interpret Genesis 2:1-3 as a law given to humanity is in error. Though sin abounded, God gave no law until Moses. Paul states in Romans 5:13-14 that there was no law given from the time of Adam until the time of Moses. Furthermore, from Adam to Moses, there is no record in Scriptures of anyone keeping the Sabbath (especially during the period of Egyptian slavery captivity). In Genesis 2, it is called the seventh day and not the Sabbath. It is a description of what God did, not what God requires of man. To interpret Genesis 2:1-3 as a law also requires to create light on Sundays and animals on Friday. From the plain reading of the text, there is no reason to conclude that God intends to view every seventh day to be holy. Rather, it is quite possible to interpret that God declares that particular day, the actual seventh day, as holy. Interpretations which add (such as saying that God rested on the seventh day to establish the Sabbath) an underlying reason why God declares the day holy, is adding to the text.

      - The only reason that we are not to covet today is because the Law of Christ commands us! Romans 13:9, Hebrews 10:1, 9
      - Those who appeal to the old law make make themselves a debtor to do the whole old law. Galatians 5:2-3

The Sabbath Was Not Practiced by The New Testament Church
Lord willing, I hope we have seen clearly that the sabbath was given to the Jews at Sinai, it was part of the old covenant which was temporary. That covenant was removed because it was fulfilled and is no longer in force today. However, we do want to show from the Scriptures that the church in the first century (and beyond) did not observe the Sabbath as a mandatory observance required by the Gospel.
Note what was the pattern and practice we see in the New Testament of the first Christians.
The church was established on the day of Pentecost (Acts 2:1) which always landed on the day after the sabbath (Leviticus 23:15-16). That means the church was established and began meeting for worship on that Sunday (Acts 2:42).
“On the first day of the week, when we were gathered together to break bread…” Acts 20:7.
We read in 1 Corinthians 16:2 “on the first day of every week…” they were to lay something aside for the collection.
Now while it is true that we do find in the New Testament some Christians observing the sabbath and other parts of the Old Law, “it is important to recognize that inspired apostolic teaching sought to correct this error” (Jackson, “Should Christians Keep the Sabbath?”). (cf. Galatians 4:9-11).
So, we ask the question, does a Christian have to observe the sabbath today? The answer is no. That was part of the old law which served its purpose and is no longer in force today as a law to be followed to be right with God. Jesus came to bring us the better covenant which was enacted on a better promise with the blood of Jesus.
Jesus came to do what the law could not, true, lasting salvation.
      Hebrews 10:1-4, 9-10, 19-22

Thank you for sharing. This question of the Sabbath and Sunday will be the next and final issue in this great controversy between Christ and Satan. It's not only about which day we honor - the Sabbath or Sunday - but whom we worship in connection with those days. God has a holy day, and that is the seventh day Sabbath, founded at creation and in the heart of His law (Genesis 2 & Exodus 20). Satan also has a day, and that is the day of the Sun, the Sunday, instituted through his pagan religions and later adopted and "Christianized" by his papal institution (Revelation 13's first beast and 17's Mystery Babylon The Great; a beast in Bible prophecy is a kingdom and nation, 1 Kings 18, Daniel 7, Matthew 24).
Thus, when Sunday is legislated into law in the near future by America first (Revelation 13's mark of the beast and second beast), then those who honor God's holy Sabbath, while forfeiting the ability to buy and sell, will inherit eternal life. Conversely, those who honor the Sunday when it's made law, while only buying and selling temporarily (because the economy will collapse), shall forfeit eternal life (John 14, Revelation 7, 13, 14, 17, 18 & 22). This Sabbath Sunday test will come to every person on the earth. Therefore, choose you this day whom you will serve, friends (Joshua 24).

Secondly, people don’t go to evening services because of lukewarm hearts that lack commitment, not because they have been convinced by their conscience/pastors that they do not need to ‘keep’ the sabbath holy. Or otherwise because their churches don’t have evening sermons (my church evening sermon is the same as the morning worship) so they listen to sermons on Ligonier channel at home on Sunday evenings! Two different issues.

When we worship on Sunday, our allegiance isn’t with God, it’s with Rome (who changed it by claiming ecclesiastical authority) who is the Beast identified in Revelation (whom “changed times and laws”). Unfortunately most christians are willfully blind to the implications of this and will fall victim to the mark of the beast. Religious legislation is coming very soon. Watch for it.

A change in the sacred day of the week occurred between the Old Testament and the New Testament. Throughout the New Testament a pattern emerges of congregational assemblies occurring on “the first day of the week.” For example, we discover in Acts 20:7 that “on the first day of the week” the church in Troas “gathered together to break bread.” Based on this passage, it is apparent that the activity of “breaking bread” or observing the Lord’s Supper was associated with an assembly that took place on the first day of the week. Additionally, we read Paul’s instructions to the Corinthian congregation regarding when they should set aside their funds for “the collection for the saints.” He stated that “on the first day of every week, each of you is to put something aside and store it up” (1 Corinthians 16:2). Paul instructed the Corinthian Christians to conduct their financial collections when they assembled as a congregation so that “there will be no collecting when I come.” And Paul knew based on the practice of the early church that the congregational assemble occurred “on the first day of the every week.”

    • @kac0404
      @kac0404 Год назад +1

While the religious activity of the Israelites centered around the seventh day of the week, the religious activity of Christians centered around the first day of the week. What caused this shift? The first day of the week became the day of assembly for the first century church because of its association with the resurrection of Jesus. In particular, Jesus rose from the dead on “the first day of the week” (Matthew 28:1-10; Mark 16:2-8; Luke 24:1-12; John 20:1-10), and His first two post-resurrection appearances to the assembled disciples occurred on “the first day of the week” (John 20:19, 26).

    • @kac0404
      @kac0404 Год назад +1

We assemble on Sunday because the first century church demonstrated a pattern of meeting on the first day of the week since it was the day that our Lord rose from the dead. But it should also be noted that we assemble more than once a week because although the New Testament presents a pattern of congregational assembly on the first day of the week, it also presents an expectation of frequent interaction between brothers and sisters in Christ. In fact, there is evidence of Christians gathering on a daily basis at least for a period of time (Acts 2:46; 5:42). The reason for assembling with frequency is identified by the author of Hebrews who told his readers to “consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds” and indicated that the way to accomplish this is by “not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some.” He then instructed his readers to encourage one another “all the more as you see the day drawing near” (Hebrews 10:24-25). Notice that forsaking the assembling of the church was viewed negatively not because one would miss out on worshipping God but because one would miss out on encouraging others. In fact, the author of Hebrews goes so far as to indicate that encouragement should be a daily exercise “so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness” (Hebrews 3:13).

@@kac0404 You're going to use the Church Father's as an authority on Sunday sacredness?? You can't be serious. That is what the Roman church also claims. The Church Father's ARE NOT SCRIPTURE. They have no authority to announce any change in the Ten Commandments, my friend. I need a 'thus saith the Lord.' Tradition and the church Father's isn't going to cut it. Where does Christ, the Son of God, the 2nd Person of the Godhead, support your claim? Only He can change His law? Where is Sunday declared or announced as sacred or holy in the NT?

Unfortunately, these type conversations help cult denominations like the SDA, Hebrew Israelites, and World Mission Society Church of God flourish. Once you say the Sabbath/4th Commandment is “binding”, these groups win the debate. Why? Because there is NO serious compelling Biblical evidence that God changed the Sabbath to Sunday….NONE. John MacArthur in his series on the Sabbath, deals with this discussion with more wisdom and caution because I believe he understands how cult traditions use this debate as a compelling tool to pull people away from the gospel back into slavery. I’m not hear to bash other brothers in Christ, but my desire is for there to be more awareness. Grace be with us all!

Is it not binding? Are we not commanded to meet? Do we not see a pattern that they met on the day Jesus resurrected (Sunday) in Scripture? Should Sundays not be different from other days especially when we live very busy restless lives in modern times? And you must understand that when we say it's binding, we are not talking like others in terms of it's salvinic purpose.

Dear JT, I'm John Jakupec (I give you my name so that I'm not some faceless entity on the web) I was born a Seventh Day Adventist I have wondered away from God and My faith for a long time (for about 40 years now) I am now 57 Years of age and am only recently come back to God. Over the course of time I have had an interest to find the truth as a result have read extensively on what other religions and faiths believe, and the one thing that has stood the test of time and has shone out to me, has always been the bible and the bible alone, this brings me back to the SAD faith as they practice just that, the same as the reformers of old. I strongly believe that many people of differing faiths will be saved regardless of creed as God looks at the heart.
When one doesn't understand something it is easy for them to place labels of ignorance onto that which they understand not. To label other denominations as a cult just because one has a different understanding of the Word to them, is quite simply put, ignorant and unsavoury, as one will only expose themself to be just that, ignorant and unsavoury.
I don't mean this in a derogatory way, I simply mean that, if I don't know what I'm talking about, then before I make a strong statement such as naming other denominations a cult I should first do some extensive research so that I don't express the wrong sentiment, and appear foolish to all onlookers. Please do yourself a favour and go to your nearest SDA church and ask the Pastor to explain the form and function of that denomination. Ask him for a copy of " The Great Controversy " by Elen G white, a prophet of God, read it and be very amazed, as I was.
BTW: "The Adventist Church boasts 1.2 million members in North America; with more than 18.7 million members worldwide it is among the fastest-growing denominations. The Pew Research Center found it to be the most racially diverse religious group in the U.S. earlier this year."
As you should know if it's not from God it will fizzle out as all cults do. SDA has been growing since 1843 and as the above mentions is the fastest-growing most racially inclusive denomination of all, maybe people should inform themselves and ask the Holy Spirit to enlighten them as they seek the truth, because there can only be one truth and it is up to to each and every one to seek it out, and remember that only the bible can answer your questions. Don't trust mere men to give you the answers concerning your salvation look only to God and His Word through prayer and meditation and it will become very clear to you.
God bless you and yours. May we bump into each other in heaven some glorious day. John Jakupec.

@@addjoaprekobaah5914 Short answer is NO! the fourth commandment clearly states 7th day Sabbath and this is a binding covenant with God. You may well be a Protestant but you are keeping a Catholic tradition see below.
"“If Protestants would follow the Bible, they should worship God on the Sabbath Day. In keeping the Sunday they are following a law of the Catholic Church.”-Albert Smith, Chancellor of the Archdiocese of Baltimore, re- plying for the Cardinal, in a letter dated February 10, 1920""

One of the difficulties we have now is that we have a situation where one has to travel 1/2 hour to an hour to get to a faithful church. Just the cost of making that trip twice can be problematic for many. Perhaps some kind of an approach can be created whereby one can spend the whole day.
