I saw part of this movie many years ago but never got to see the whole thing until about a week ago. It's a great movie but is really depressing . There is some fantastic music in this movie.
I was thinking maybe Mussisipi I haven't seen the movie. I was searching for a blind lemon Jefferson tune. great memory for you seeing your grandmas house. tx
Hufdy Ledbetter had genius. His story and originals such as Midnight Special & House of the Rising Sun are on RUclips. Blind Lemon Jefferson is here too.
Are you stupid? Obviously it’s a scene from the 1976 Movie Leadbelly. Not the most accurate movie but it’s pretty good, my only complaint is that the actor for Blind Lemon doesn’t look a thing like him, but then again I don’t know if they knew what he looked like at that point
@@Unus_Annus_ Lyrics wise? You’re right. And obviously Lemons was original. I just liked it cause it sounded more full. Obviously cause it had better studio quality. Just like Belly’s Irene goodnight! The original was raw and real. I think some songs sounded better redone and some didn’t. Both were well put together.
@@assassinmanx6128 yeah I get that. It’s too bad that a lot of Blind Lemon’s songs have such poor audio quality. This is due mostly to Paramount’s poor production, but also because the records used for recording are in varying conditions. One of my favorites by Lemon, Rising High Water Blues, is unfortunately one of the worst audio wise I wonder what it would’ve been like had he not died so young
@@Unus_Annus_ Yea he would of had great quality in comparison if he had survived longer. He influenced a lot of musicians. You can hear similar style in Hendrix’s blues songs.
“You’ve been boozin’ all night, you can’t drive.”
“You’re blind!”
this touch my soul.
How is the the weather condition over there

This move remembered me my American music journey in the South.
I'm glad to see that there are no thumbs down for this video. Maybe there is a little hope left for humanity afterall.
All racist think see and eat it is lies and garbage. Even the RUclips algorithm can get anything good into their suggested video que.
There is a strange magic in this movie. Like Easy Rider or Cool Hand Luke.
Beautiful!
Wonderful!
A few recorded versions of "See That My Grave Is Kept Clean" including my band The Clique back in 1964 (sadly never released)

@@killiandonnellymusic Yes it is. You can see her washing in the back and everything. They took clips from different places. So you could be right.
RIP Robert E Mosley.
It's hard to believe that "See that my grave is kept clean" is the same song that Laibach made an modern and darker cover of.

Make sure my grave is kept clean by Blind Lemon. But it sounds way different. This version was better to me.
@@assassinmanx6128 nobody can beat Blind Lemons version
Plus the movies version of the song gets a lot of the lyrics wrong

Great music. But what’s up with all the hillbillies at the end?
Giving you a taste of how racism had its subtleties. They paid them cheap to play. Not to mention they had to watch their step in walking and talking.
Who loves being black 🙋🏾♂️
Ima old black soul my brotha👋🏿
White devil here.. I won't cause no trouble I just want to hear some music.
Same ... Beautiful scene
