You're putting out consistently great content which is helping me immensely to understand the detailed tuning mechanics that many of the local club coaches simply don't fully grasp themselves! Really appreciate the time and effort you are putting into the channel!
@@MentalmenteHablandoconDannyK I know this may be a year late, but just in case someone else reads this: The vertical bar screws into the horizontal bar with two screws. If you loosen these two screws you can change the angle of the vertical bar.
Dude.. youre a total bad ass for uploading all of these both the tuning and form playlist. With quarantine, it makes it super difficult to be able to go to a range, so im working on perfecting my 5 meters in my garage so i know 100% that my form and my bow are in tune before I even shoot long distance. Many many many thanks!!!
that helped a lot. I was definitely needing to change my windage setting at each distance. I thought my bow was pretty plumb but a hanskea level showed the cant on the bow and this method have reduced the change quite a bit from 20 to 60 meters. Still a tiny bit out but it is no longer 2 to 4 full turns like it was yesterday
I just went through this process in my back yard (early 'false summer 🙂, ahead of what looks to be 2 weeks of near-winter rolling in 😞). Almost perfectly replicated the Kaminski experience - that is, the part of the experience where you learn how much strength you lose over a long winter layoff from archery 😀 So - 2 weeks of strength exercises and TABATA drills ahead, before I try again !! Thanks Jake, for steering me to here.
Hey Jake, I can recommend a channel that can build your archery strength back up! 😃 Another excellent video, I’ll be revisiting my sight level using this method, thanks very much. 👍👍👍
I'd always used the reverse sight method and assumed any difference at distance was down to my form so I'll definitely be giving this method a try! Thanks!!
Thanks for the sight adjusting information. I’ve done the reverse sight before but always tried to keep it vertical usually interrupting my process in doing so. Looking forward to trying your method tomorrow. Also just to let everyone know I did your walk back from the ten to 40 yards and shooting groups was able to easily adjust dynamic center shot much easier than ever before.
I LOVE YOU MAN FOR SHARING EVERYTING AND I AM SOOO HAPPY THAT I FOUND YOU MAN...I WICH FOR YOU ALL HE BLESSINGS AND YOUR LOVEONES...YOU MAKE ME A VERY VEERY HAPPY MAN!!!!
Great vid, thanks as always :) how do you actually make the adjustment though? Are you adjusting the threads on the thing that holds the sight bar which clamps to the side of the bow?
Thanks for sharing this quick and fairly easy trick......you gotta have nerves of steel to pull off this adjustment minutes before a shoot. The small footprint of the mounting block combined with the long sight bar make the assembly delicate....then add in distortion created by temperature variation of the aluminum and Argghhhh. : )

Hi Jake, Probably a stupid question, but how did you adjust the tilt on your sight bar? Are you just slightly loosening the screws attaching it to the riser, or shimming it?
ruclips.net/video/tZa2FoBLDfY/видео.html that video will show you how to adjust your center shot 100% correct. Since you won't move your sight during the walk back it eliminates the potential sight issue.
Does anyone know how to adjust the tilt of a Cartel sight? Specifically Focus Carbon, looks like most of their sights are like this. The screws that attach the horizontal bar to the vertical sight bar do not have any movement room to adjust as suggested in other comments/replies.
What Jake said, but if you really feel like you need the extra dampening you can always compensate by attaching an extra ounce of weight to your opposite side bar.
Just loosen the screws that attach the vertical bar to the extension, line it up and tighten them again. There is always a bit of wiggle room regardless of manufacturer or price point.
@@JakeKaminskiArchery It's funny because I've never seen an olympic archer struggle to pull their own bow before. But here you are now all shakey. Just jokin 😂. We know your feel...

Watching your tutorial on sight adjustments is so helpful. Am a big fan from the Solomons.
Hi Jake, question.... Where did you make the adjustment to bring the sight into vertical alignment
Yes, I have an Angel recurve sight... how I make the cant adjustment on the sight bar? Thank you!

Hi Jake, interesting video, but I could not see exactly how you adjusted the sight-bar?

Hi Jake, Probably a stupid question, but how did you adjust the tilt on your sight bar? Are you just slightly loosening the screws attaching it to the riser, or shimming it?
The two screws that hold the vertical adjustment to the bar itself, there is built in adjustment into the system.
I was wondering the same. Thanks for asking that question!
@@JakeKaminskiArchery Thanks Jake, much appreciated!
So is the adjustment made by loosening the two bolts that attach the sight bar to the sight?
Cool and simple. What's the poundage to make you all shakey?
probably 47# on the fingers.
Thank you so much! Nice video and very useful!!
That was cool way to check
ok but how do I actually adjust my sight so that it tilts? Just with some DIY Shims? Does the Shibuya Ultima not have this adjustment?
how did you make the side canted?
Just in case ( Im using Shibuya RC III) is it a feature for some certain sight or im just a man with no knowledge?
So I’m assuming you would do this before doing your walk back tune?
Not really, walk back you don’t move your sight so it’s all good.
Hi..!
How much your draw pound?
Hi Jake,
How do I know the arrows miss the line due to the an unlevel sight vs a center shot thats not tuned right?
ruclips.net/video/tZa2FoBLDfY/видео.html that video will show you how to adjust your center shot 100% correct. Since you won't move your sight during the walk back it eliminates the potential sight issue.

I've seen these little screw in vibration dampers for sights. Do they do anything?
Yeah, add weight to something that doesn't need more weight haha
What Jake said, but if you really feel like you need the extra dampening you can always compensate by attaching an extra ounce of weight to your opposite side bar.
Just use a rubber damper on the riser and use aluminium weight so it doesn't effect the mass weight as much.
Do most sights have adjustments on vertical bar?
In my experience, yes
I really don't get it. What exactly did you do to tilt the sight bar? Is it some Axcel exclusive feature?
Just loosen the screws that attach the vertical bar to the extension, line it up and tighten them again. There is always a bit of wiggle room regardless of manufacturer or price point.
I got a cheaper copy of the Axcel (Avalon Tec X). I just put a washer between the extension fixture and the riser
@@rickardbrinck2886 Thank you, I think Jack is doing it the same way.
correct. just tilt the bar with the adjustment they have.
How do you cocked the sight would it break?
the screws that hold the vertical adjustment bar to the slider bar have built in slop to allow for some adjustment.
I'm a beginner, just got a 28# bow. Cant even imagine pulling 47#.. my muscles would snap probably.. i'm already out for a couple of days
Not sure if you discussed this elsewhere, but *why* have you stopped shooting recurve?
I was asking the same, without be unpolite of course. It is a pity that Jake retired from competitions or at even stopped shooting completely.
poundage bit high after not shooting for a long time.... lol. know the feeling
I'm older, so the tattoo on my hand is: "I WAS."
