Excellent video. Such a beautiful looking aircraft. I would love to fly in it one day. The flight testing program appears be intense and exhaustive with 1000s of hours already flown.
No one freaked out with this plane flying around, but they sure did when the air force 1 plane did some testing. Like living here and getting to see test flights like this happen.
The same bosses in charge of employees' salaries were also overseeing those staffers' safety concerns, creating a culture where the employees hesitated to speak up for fear of retaliation, the panel found.
The 777-9 has a range of 8,383 miles which is around the distance to fly from Los Angeles to Dubai. It could technically fly longer but that depends on the load and seating configuration.
As far as I can recall.... in the aviation jargon they first called it Winglets, when they were first introduced by Airbus about 25yrs ago,..... I think 🤔 so they actually become Winglets when they are upright & wingtips when they're straight... sounds quite logical.... or not?
@@RamSingh-cg2dn no, winglets are vertical or near vertical permanent wingtip devices. They stay in that position always. These are folding raked wingtips which are only vertical on the ground to make space at space restricted airports. They are NEVER vertical in flight. These are a first for commercial aviation. Typically you only see folding wings in Navy aircraft.
The FAA made 53 total recommendations for how the company should not just improve its lackluster safety practices, but *bring them up to the legal requirement*.
It’s a good question. I have followed the journey to certification of the 777x for some time. The next critical step is for the FAA pilots to fly the 777x to verify a range of factors. Perhaps the FAA is dragging the chain so to speak given their own problems with previous certifications.
I like the new sleek design of the triple 7.....Boeing's Best Plane as far as safety record goes.....it also looks like these 777-9 won't come with the Serated chevron at the Exhaust Nozzle..😢
The 777X is Boeing’s new version of the 777. It’s a passenger plane but it hasn’t been certified by the FAA yet so no airlines fly it yet. Once it’s certified then airlines like Lufthansa, Emirates, and Singapore will fly it on long haul international routes.
No what I mean by high altitude performance testing is that they came to COS because it’s 6,187 feet above sea level. At this altitude takeoff/go around performance is reduced so they are required to do this testing to get the plane certified. Other manufacturers like Airbus do the same thing with their planes
It's confusing terminology but what they're really testing for is performance at a high density altitude conditions, which is thinner air and as such gives less performance.

The size of these engines is just insane
You’re telling me!
Yeah
Yes they are! Hopefully no future pilot who flies these babies is as insane.. lol 😂
They're a house
Those nacelles are the size of 737 fuselage
Wow, what a majestic looking aircraft!! Great catch, thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
It’s cool to think that 80% of the sound is the air rushing around the 777 and not the engine note

Nice catch! Saw some pictures of it in COS, but didn't think anyone would get a video of it. Really enjoyed it! Interesting aircraft!
Thank you! Yeah I’m really glad I was able to get out there and I’m definitely happy with how the footage turned out
Finally a Colorado channel, home to the mountain wave and afternoon moderate turbulence capital of this United States. Thank you 😊

I’m so bummed I missed it. Would have been flying over my house all day. Good catch!!!
That’s too bad but maybe you’ll get to see the 777-8 if it comes here in a couple years when Boeing is getting it certified
Great video and I enjoyed the crow's commentary.

Wow! What a beauty. Great footage you’ve captured!

Gorgeous views - would love the takeoff, too!
Beautiful aircraft. I would love to see video of the wingtips being folded (close up).
Second that, I'm really curious about whether or not they can/will do that on the move after exiting the runway.
She's a beauty.
Definitely
Thank you for these in 4k. For some reason, on the OFFICIAL Boeing 777X RUclips channel they upload in 720p lol
Dang. Boeing needs to get it together 😂
Beautiful jet and beautiful video footage...you did well!!
Thank you!
I can't wait to see this magnificent aircraft start flying the line.

Gorgeous. The 777 is pretty much the modern day 747.
Yeah they are pretty similar in capacity and range. Still wish we could get the 747 back though 😥

@@superskullmaster I know but I mean back to its former glory. Denver used to get the 747 all the time but now only occasionally from cargo airlines

Those winglets are huge
There are no winglet's on the 777-9. What you see are the wing tips that fold up to take less space at an airport gate.....
how many variants is the Boeing 777, I only know the Boeing 777 variants 300er, 200er, 777x

That folding wing tips will be the one to bring problem first, they will fold in the mid flight
I wonder how it would fly with the tips folded up? Do you think they have tried it??? Certainly enough wing area to keep on flying.....
Freeking Amazing!!
Could it fly with the winglets up?
It probably could but the folding wingtips aren’t designed to be up when it’s flying so it’s not allowed

Why is taking so long for this plane to get certified ??
After all the issues Boeing has had lately I think the FAA is just really taking its time to make sure the 777X is safe before certifying it
Think FAA is sponsored by Airbus

Not really sure about those folderble winglets, it might become a major problem for airlines Down the line.
Specifically, what problem are you referring to?
I could see them having some mechanical issues in the future but I think the benefit of the space they save out weighs the possible problems
