- Welcome back to another video y'all! Last Tuesday I was lucky enough to see the 777X doing some high altitude performance testing at Colorado Springs Airport. The aircraft did a total of 8 patterns around the airport on Tuesday. It ended up staying the night at COS and then flew around a bit on Wednesday before heading back to Everett, Washington. I was fortunate enough to catch it doing its last 2 patterns around COS on Tuesday in addition to its landing and taxi. Thank you for watching and have a fantastic day!

The size of these engines is just insane
You’re telling me!
Yeah
Yes they are! Hopefully no future pilot who flies these babies is as insane.. lol 😂
They're a house
Those nacelles are the size of 737 fuselage
I love the raven in the background giving his approval. Such majestic birds and expert flyers that can keep up with most Birds of Prey. Corvids are truly one of my favorite family of birds in my 30+yrs in the avian field.
That bird was just chilling while watching the 777X with me 😅

Wow, what a majestic looking aircraft!! Great catch, thanks for sharing!
Thank you!
Magnificent aircraft ,hope Boeing gets it act together sooner rather than later.
Yeah
Nice catch! Saw some pictures of it in COS, but didn't think anyone would get a video of it. Really enjoyed it! Interesting aircraft!
Thank you! Yeah I’m really glad I was able to get out there and I’m definitely happy with how the footage turned out
Finally a Colorado channel, home to the mountain wave and afternoon moderate turbulence capital of this United States. Thank you 😊
Excellent footage man, keep up the great work
Thanks!
Extraordinary footage of B777-9, and certainly looking forward to seeing more contents in the coming of times, keep up the fantastic work and keep the momentum’s up as evermore. Hoping you had a great time in the makings of this and always for the previous contents.
😉✈️🛩️💯👍✨
Thank you!
What a beauty!!!
Incredible quality! 😍
Great catch 👍🏻
Great vídeo, triple seven is a beauty. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you!
Dude what an amazing angle. Like this vantage point is dope. I live here in the Springs and I’ve yet to find this spot. Kudos
Wow! What a beauty. Great footage you’ve captured!
Yeah. Thanks!
great footage its excellent
Such an awesome aircraft!
That is one spectacular beautiful aircraft.
Beautiful capturing ❤
Thank you!
Beautiful airplane
I’m so bummed I missed it. Would have been flying over my house all day. Good catch!!!
That’s too bad but maybe you’ll get to see the 777-8 if it comes here in a couple years when Boeing is getting it certified
Gorgeous aircraft. And those engines... 👀
Gorgeous views - would love the takeoff, too!
So cool 👍👍👍
Really nice light, and smooth video-ing. What camera and lens were you using? Really looks great!
-Tom
Sorry, you answered the question in 'more'. Thanks for including it - much appreciated!

Magnificent aircraft! I’ve flown to Asia and Hawaii on this plane!
Amazing ❤❤❤😍
The 777-9 is sexy as hell. Love the size & proportions of this thing.
Excellent footage! Keep up the good work, I enjoy watching your video! Which tripod do you use with your RX10? Subscribed 😀
Thanks! My tripod is the Geekoto AT24 Pro Dreamer 77”. It’s a pretty good tripod and is much smoother than my old one
Great video and I enjoyed the crow's commentary.
😂 yeah
I can't wait to see this magnificent aircraft start flying the line.
Can't wait to fly that thing
Very Cool Aircraft Actually 😎
Thank you for these in 4k. For some reason, on the OFFICIAL Boeing 777X RUclips channel they upload in 720p lol
Dang. Boeing needs to get it together 😂
Look at the wing. So elegant.
It’s a beautiful model. I see them parked at Boeing Field all the time or doing low altitude stuff in WA. Nice to see it flying around back home
Nice
Freeking Amazing!!
Gorgeous. The 777 is pretty much the modern day 747.
Yeah they are pretty similar in capacity and range. Still wish we could get the 747 back though 😥
@@ColoradoAviationit never left, just no PAX versions in the USA.
@@superskullmaster I know but I mean back to its former glory. Denver used to get the 747 all the time but now only occasionally from cargo airlines
@@ColoradoAviation that’s like hoping the A380 is going to suddenly be a winner. The time of giant quads for Pax flights is gone unfortunately.
Not really the problem with this setup less redundancy and bigger chance of something going wrong. It looks good.
Can’t wait!
She's a beauty.
Definitely
cool videos...we lived just SW of DIA (KDEN)........in the 90s.....stapleton was still active when we moved there......some good views along 56th ave.....just south of DIA.........Dan from KPNS.....home of the navy blue angels
Nice
NICE!❤
Thanks!
awesome
Beautiful aircraft. I would love to see video of the wingtips being folded (close up).
Second that, I'm really curious about whether or not they can/will do that on the move after exiting the runway.
Love the plane and the engine
It is gorgeous
What a beauty!
Such a graceful giant….you don’t realize how large the plane is untill you look at the passenger door and realize that’s 35% larger than all humans🔥🔥🥃🥃
Nice 👍
❤777❤
Excellent video. Such a beautiful looking aircraft. I would love to fly in it one day. The flight testing program appears be intense and exhaustive with 1000s of hours already flown.
Thanks! Yeah
Beautiful jet and beautiful video footage...you did well!!
Thank you!
It reminds me of a Great White Shark, prowling the skies. A beast of a plane, although for me it’s difficult to imagine this topping the majestic A350.
The same bosses in charge of employees' salaries were also overseeing those staffers' safety concerns, creating a culture where the employees hesitated to speak up for fear of retaliation, the panel found.
Those winglets are huge
There are no winglet's on the 777-9. What you see are the wing tips that fold up to take less space at an airport gate.....
Esos winglets retráctiles me recuerdan a la nariz retráctil del Concord 😊
i got a vid of that BOE002 taking off at pain field. it is on my YT shorts page
Nice
engines larger than a 737 fuselage. just extraordinary.
Yeah
High altitude testing go to Sucre Bolivia, over 9100 feet, Had 2 brothers who flew for LAB, B-727-200 little slooow on speed buildup on
take off roll.
Oh nice. It would be cool if Boeing went down to South America for testing. 6,000 feet is pretty high up but testing there would definitely be better…
$450M, but dont worry, we have written some code to preclude additional pilot training!!!!
5:05 Those passengers in that 737-800 are so lucky
Yeah
So quiet to public as it flew bye.... ;-D
That folding wing tips will be the one to bring problem first, they will fold in the mid flight
I wonder how it would fly with the tips folded up? Do you think they have tried it??? Certainly enough wing area to keep on flying.....
The FAA made 53 total recommendations for how the company should not just improve its lackluster safety practices, but *bring them up to the legal requirement*.
No one freaked out with this plane flying around, but they sure did when the air force 1 plane did some testing. Like living here and getting to see test flights like this happen.
Yeah I actually got to see the VC-25 when it was training the day before this was recorded and it was awesome
Like an eagle
That shit is as beautiful as an Eagle Gliding around........
I hope fuel panel isn't near the engine as previous models.. 😕
Wait for the A350Neo with UltraFan(3.5m diameter)😅
How many hours can this model fly? For example, can you fly from Singapore to New York on this plane?
The 777-9 has a range of 8,383 miles which is around the distance to fly from Los Angeles to Dubai. It could technically fly longer but that depends on the load and seating configuration.
@@ColoradoAviation thank you friend ❤🌹
how many variants is the Boeing 777, I only know the Boeing 777 variants 300er, 200er, 777x
@@ColoradoAviationUsers of Boeing 777 series 777x 9 or 8 airlines, bro
I feel like this plane has been “Testing” for two decades now 😭
She's a beaut Clark
Folderable Winglets is really something new..... Far out man
Yeah
They aren’t winglets
@@superskullmaster Yeah they’re technically folding wingtips but I can see how someone would call them winglets
As far as I can recall.... in the aviation jargon they first called it Winglets, when they were first introduced by Airbus about 25yrs ago,..... I think 🤔 so they actually become Winglets when they are upright & wingtips when they're straight... sounds quite logical.... or not?
@@RamSingh-cg2dn no, winglets are vertical or near vertical permanent wingtip devices. They stay in that position always. These are folding raked wingtips which are only vertical on the ground to make space at space restricted airports. They are NEVER vertical in flight. These are a first for commercial aviation. Typically you only see folding wings in Navy aircraft.
I’m confused cam someone explain to me? Is this a passenger plane? And what airline does this belong to? And how do you book a flight on that plane?
The 777X is Boeing’s new version of the 777. It’s a passenger plane but it hasn’t been certified by the FAA yet so no airlines fly it yet. Once it’s certified then airlines like Lufthansa, Emirates, and Singapore will fly it on long haul international routes.
@@ColoradoAviation Ok, thanks so much, who flies it in the air who is the guy?
@@MilesTheTrainKid16 Right now only Boeing test pilots are flying it
Still prefer the GE 90 engines tho for the 777
I like the new sleek design of the triple 7.....Boeing's Best Plane as far as safety record goes.....it also looks like these 777-9 won't come with the Serated chevron at the Exhaust Nozzle..😢
Yeah
That got thrown out a LONG time ago as it wasn’t worth the thrust loss it induced.
Okay, what’s the problem with this airplane?
The experts found Boeing's documentation of its safety management systems overly complex and constantly changing, which created a culture of confusion among the employees. az
Did it arrive with all the doors it left with ?.
Yeah
Could it fly with the winglets up?
It probably could but the folding wingtips aren’t designed to be up when it’s flying so it’s not allowed
@@ColoradoAviation understandable, it was in case they retracted in flight due to a malfunction.
Ginormous twin. Quiet too.
Yeah especially considering it was at TOGA thrust and still not super loud
Only 6 years late to the plate!
😅
Beautiful airplane, my favorite in the skies. The way Boeing is going, airlines will probably get it around 2038…
Yeah 😅
Why is taking so long for this plane to get certified ??
After all the issues Boeing has had lately I think the FAA is just really taking its time to make sure the 777X is safe before certifying it
Think FAA is sponsored by Airbus
It’s a good question. I have followed the journey to certification of the 777x for some time. The next critical step is for the FAA pilots to fly the 777x to verify a range of factors. Perhaps the FAA is dragging the chain so to speak given their own problems with previous certifications.
So several hundred feet and ground level is hight altitude?
No what I mean by high altitude performance testing is that they came to COS because it’s 6,187 feet above sea level. At this altitude takeoff/go around performance is reduced so they are required to do this testing to get the plane certified. Other manufacturers like Airbus do the same thing with their planes
It's confusing terminology but what they're really testing for is performance at a high density altitude conditions, which is thinner air and as such gives less performance.
It's Colorado Springs, bud. Ground level IS at altitude. That's the reason the U.S. Olympic training center is located there, as well.
Ворон тоже восхищен этим красавцем!
Yup
Those big fans remind of the horrendous grills BMW are putting on their latest designs. Except to fans are useful.
😂
S T U N N I N G
so thats what the 777- 9 sound like at 1:14
Yeah the crow had to make it in but the 777X still sounds great
777X> A350 looks wise every frikin time
Facts
Not really sure about those folderble winglets, it might become a major problem for airlines Down the line.
Specifically, what problem are you referring to?
I could see them having some mechanical issues in the future but I think the benefit of the space they save out weighs the possible problems
Planes have been folding their wings since WW2. This isn't anything new in the world of aviation.
Plus there are always contingencies in place in case something unintended happens.
멋지노!
That’s some high altitude, must be what, 500 feet?
No what I mean by high altitude performance testing is that they came to COS because it’s 6,187 feet above sea level. At this altitude takeoff/go around performance is reduced so they are required to do this testing to get the plane certified. Other manufacturers like Airbus do the same thing with their planes
Those engines looks hilarious
Gorgeous bird. Just wish Boeing had it's sh** together.
Yeah
A majestic Aircraft for sure, but nothing will replace A380
Nothing needs to replace the A380, it was a white elephant from the very beginning.
It is a replacement for A380..
Drop door soooooon😅
How many doors blew off?
lets hope the emergency exits dont spontaneously eject themselves on this airplane
There's definitely going to be something. All these delays are a red flag for me. That's why I'll be avoiding the few airlines that ordered it.
They painted it like the MAX. Coincidence? I don't think so.
The folding tip is the most redundant waste of money I have ever seen put on an aircraft
Its not a waste of money, folding the wingtips changes the 777X from a Category F aircraft to a Category E. This change is incredibly important because most major airports worldwide are Category E airports. If the 777X remained a category F aircraft (the same category as the Airbus A380), it would severely limit the number of airports it can fly to.
It would not be able to park at gates already used by 777/787 if it didnt have folding wingtips
Yeah
