    In less than two minutes he got the knife sharper than what I can do in an hour. Very impressive!

    A wonderful video, I really enjoyed watching someone who knows what they are doing work. Makes such a refreshing change from angle grinders for everything.

    Wow!
    This is a Carbon Steel, I presume. Is there a way to force patina on such knives that prevents rust?

    • @dizzlelol7400
      @dizzlelol7400 3 года назад +2

      you could use gun bluing formula, makes a kurouchi finish like blackened patina, you could use any form of acid such as mustard or vinegar and a paper towel around your knife, or cut raw chicken, maybe a steak, salted meats can make your carbon steels nice and blue-ish

      @@dizzlelol7400 I tried soaked vinegar wrapped around the knife but did not do too much.
      But this mustard I gotta try. will any type of mustard will do?

      @@nmssis the vinegar workes best if you heat it up to almost boilling temp I see it work immediately. Depending on your steel , I have made mora knifes and opinel this way they turn black.

      Try near Kapabashi. There are a couple second hand stores there. Just ask the owners. Its how I picked up a beat up Sugimoto.

      Hi! This is not a Rubber. It is actually a very low grit (rough) stone.

    Is that some kind of rubber?

      He calls it a Sabitoru, but the Sabitoru that I have is wider and flatter. Yes, mine is a hard rubber with abrasive embedded in it… also is *_great_* for cleaning sharpening stones.
