Just turned 4K miles on mine today. Best bike I’ve ever owned. Comfortable, great for real world motorcycling but still completely savage when you want it to be. So easy to ride. I absolutely love this bike.
Any update on the bike?

Honestly, this is the best review of the bike on RUclips and helped me make the decision to buy. Particularly the sit-down session where you guys discussed the bike. I felt identical after the test ride. I pick mine up on Friday with the full Akra system. Really stoked.

Hmmm, enjoyed that, must get myself a go on one of those puppies....love my Panigale, but not sure it's beautiful looks justify it being sat in my garage not being ridden...(and would be easier on my aged aching arthritis ridden shoulders). Nice one chaps!

Picked my Streetfighter up two weeks go and was a bit anxious on how hard it was going to be to ride compared to my speed triple, but was amazed. Just as easy to live with around town and on my daily ride to work, but bonkers fast when you want to have some fun, best all round bike i have every owned. Good job Ducati!!

Would love to see you guys compare a 1098 Streetfighter S against the newer V4 S. The original model is much less refined, but still an amazing proposition and I wonder if you rode them back-to-back whether you both would prefer the newer, more refined riding experience, or the more raw, visceral experience of the original.
Glad it’s stable at low speed, my Panigale V4S is like watching MJ Fox hold a glass of water.....juddery as fark.

The key is to never ride at ‘low speed’. Not even joking...
Even when you’re filtering through traffic you’ve got to be decisive and swift about it on a Ducati (not necessarily heroic with your passing speeds, but on it with picking your line, blipping the throttle quickly for a sec, then clutching it to avoid the speed getting excessive), hesitation tends to get punished with a wobble or some sputtering from the shit part throttle mapping on a lot of models.

Still tryna decide which MT I should get coming from a ninja 250 lol but I’ve ridden a Cbr600RR easily and a Ktm 990 super duke easily lol I think the MT07 would be perfect but wouldn’t mind a MT10 because I’m not gonna full throttle it everywhere everyday lol

MT10 isn’t even in the same league as this??? Pushing 160 max bhp and 30kg heavier. This almost has 25% more power? MT10 is more of a tourer naked rather than a hyper naked!

Sold the KTM-1290 and couldn’t be happier with this StreetFighter V-4S Akropavic Race Exhaust-ECU Map 220-HP, i love the wicked power everywhere unlike the 1290 that went flat at 8500-RPM. The Ducati keeps pulling to 14,500. 5th to 6th issue went away when Akropavic finally released the Up-Map for the Race Exhaust. Iam telling everyone the bike was created with the Race Exhaust in mind.

Cylinder cut is to do with temperature. It kills the rear 2 when the revs are at idle. 30mph is 1st gear, possibly 2nd not 3rd or 4th which put the revs at or below idle
But also to the pass noise test. The Pani does it as well in 3rd at around 3750rpm or something because that's where the "riding noise" is measured. Then it's dead quiet, but brutally loud in all other cases. Quite cheeky of Ducati but I'm not mad😂
@@FilipRauh sound test is at 5750rpm. The butterfly valve opens after that. All manufacturers do that.
same fun on the Tuono for 1/2 the price and comes with Cruise Control.
Bloody love cruise control now! After few k around Europe especially on the toll roads was a god sent!

I bought one and put Arrow exhaust with Ducati up map and wow! Now its a proper raging bull as it were.

Performance per pound and best sounding V4, you can’t beat an Aprilia Tuono
But the Streetfighter looks much better. Though I agree the Aprilia V4, especially with an aftermarket can, is the best sounding street bike engine ever made.

I'm always looking at other bikes like the s1000 or the diavel, but the original 1098 street fighter is one of the 2 bikes that made me truly want to ride (ironically the other is a v-rod, whatever, feelings) and I constantly find myself back here, watching this video... when I can afford one I'm buying one lol

You’re definitely doing 100mph EVERY DAY on this bike. I have a 14 SF848 and always break 100. This SFV4(S) is amazing in every way. I’m getting one this year. I like the heated grips option. Can’t wait.

I noticed Alistair is rocking the tractech evo 3's. Absolutely love those boots, so comfertable to ride in. I rode in them constantly for about 2 hours and they didnt hurt me feet
Nice to see you round Radstock way! The corner and junction at 1:10 was where I had my very nearest arse clenching near miss. Pretty much got stuck on the pavement as someone decided that I didn’t exist and just drove straight toward the side of my bike.

I've test ridden Streetfighter V4 back in 2020 when they first came out, including taking it up to it's top speed. I'll probably release the footage later. What really astonished me is the superb handling it has at any speeds, the ease of riding, and especially the unbelievable stability and maneuverability at high speeds, which I never encountered on any other motorcycles before (and I tested a lot of them). So, yeah, Streetfighter V4 is truly AMAZING bike in this sense. But at the same time it's extremely impractical, boring and uncomfortable (due to vibrations) to ride at sensible speeds, fuel thirsty because of the unreasonably high gearing, and very physically painful to ride at high speeds due to aerodynamic pressure pushing my helmet against my face. Therefore, my conclusion on Ducati Streetfighter V4: it is extremely cool and fun bike to take for a test ride for a couple of hours, but it's really not good and pointless bike to own and daily ride.
And if you want a bike with almost the same level of handling, speed, and fun, but at the same time comfortable, practical, versatile, and awesome to ride almost everywhere - get a Multistrada V4 than. But that's for another story.

The previous street fighter is my top pick for best looking production bike ever made, so this one had some big shoes to fill. Result? Meh. Great bike, doesn’t tickle me the same way. Can’t win em all though, I’m sure some people think it looks amazing.

It’s true you could get a Tuono and Superduke cheaper which brings good value but Ducatis are royalty imo and it has a different sort of presence that comes with it. With it being Germanic my initial thought is that ‘Ducati has lost it’ but then again on some days I can relate hating the shake and rattle when I want to take it easy. Hence I bought a smooth 4cyl Honda as a transition to my monster.
I’ll stick to my V4s thanks. Wouldn’t want a bike tamer than that, the main reason I got it is because you feel alive when you ride it unlike the s1000rr I had before it...

I think I want a Streetfighter V2. I reeeaaally don't see the point in 200+ hp naked bikes (even though it's absolutely wicked and awesome), but as you said, 100+ mph is just painful on them. V2SF, no wings (just like the pani V2) but with decent electronics and suspension, cheaper price point and 160 ish horsepower. Perfect all rounder for me (I say that as an 848SF owner, I'm totally not biased).
My 2017 S1000R. Love it so rideable. might be biased but that’s a solid premium bike too. Did 2k euro tour last summer was amazing. Awesome as an all rounder or a weekend burner. Thoughts?

When I rode the S1000R and said it was "a bit German" I got absolutely crucified. :D I think the wings on this ruin it, plus it looks like the plastic wings still have the mould seams left on. For £20k I'd expect an Italian supermodel to come over and trim those off for me!
I have to say, Ducati have knocked it out of the park with this one (by all accounts). Seems like a fantastic motorcycle
I find the "street mode" on this bike hilarious. If I recall correctly it limits it to 150 BHP !

I had the 1098 streetfighter for 3 years as my all year round commuter. It used to cut out all the time in the winter where it was too cold and it would only take supreme unleaded. It was a dog at low speeds but gosh did it sound good with the termignoni pipes. Would still have it but a car reversed into it in a car park.....
Top top review lads, as ever, although I was particularly looking forward to this one as my test ride is booked, ready to chop in the KTM SD I think...now where's that PCP paperwork...

I'll admit. When I first heard about the new Ducati Street Fighter, I was intimidated by the specs. Its nice to know coming from a Triumph Speed Triple that I could still have fun. Responsibly that is.
Agreed the price seems too high for the competitive competition, and being the top model surely it needs more carbon, heated grips and some funky colours. Looks like I am sticking with the Speciale for the masochistic days and the XSR for bad back days and when I don’t need my testicles toasted.
Ageing = Boring, not necessarily I’m 10 + years older than Sue and Jason Wattie Buchan and still enjoying a blat around the Nurburgring all be it with more comfort breaks 👍

Haha - the 40 year old and sensible comment was so true it hurts! I had nothing but crazy sportsbikes for 20 years (inc Urban Tiger Fireblade, I miss that still....) until I was 42, then literally had an epiphany moment on my GSXR1000 doing 93 in first gear and thought, this is just bonkers, pointless and painful on my wrists! I now have naked bikes with less BHP but more torque and comfort below 85mph.
Nice looking bike in my opinion, headlights look great which is important on a naked (coming from a street triple rs owner 😬) 20k though, bit rich for me! Glad to see the content still coming, when we seeing more FZ50 stuff?! 😆

Owning a V4s and a diavel 1260s this is the best of both worlds.
That junction from camerton at 0:45 has claimed a fair few people. Better 0-jail in 3 secs than 0-morgue in 10secs.
The noise change is probably due to a servo motor that opens a butterfly valve in the exhaust to provide more backpressure at low rpm.
So I've been thinking about getting a new Multi, but maybe now I'll wait til next year for the V4.
Guys what’s it like compared to the tuono v4 factory? I was tempted to test ride the Ducati but it has to be a hell of a bike to get me off my aprilia!!!! Good review though cheers 👍

Great review and was debating with myself whether to take the plunge for the 2020 Streetfighter but am thinking twice at the price, plus have they taken some of the Ducati "soul" out of the bike? I picked up a 1098 2010 Streetfighter a few months back as a test and have fallen for the character of that bike, true it is tricky and has issues but there is something special there. Am now thinking twice and looking over at the Tuono. Any others in my camp?
I love the fact that they called S1000R dull. Just look up Barron riding the 2014 S1000R and see if he finds it dull. And that's the 160bhp version, compared to the current 165bhp. Common fellows...
The question is, is it as lovable as the darling of a bike the aprilia tuono 1100 is?
