Another life saving video here, exactly same problem. Great video, thank you for the effort of removing the plastic piece in order to give us a good view of it.
Thank you so much!!! I followed your instructions in pt 1 and this pt 2 to diagnose and fix the exact same problem on my own 2008 Toyota Corolla. Great videos and my wife thinks I’m a hero, THANK YOU!
Thank you so much for part one and 2 of your video. This was exactly what happend to my 2003 Toyota a few days ago and my dad was able to fix it the same day it wouldn't start.
I’m here because of your part 1..same issue.. No crank but full power and that switch got me running but I still wasn’t going into gear. I’m here now and am currently looking my supposed clip just completely obliterated and cable just loose which explains the gliding gears. About to get this e clip and hopefully it resolved everything. I will be back. Thank you!!!
You are a god damn life saver, bro. You don't know how close we were to towing it to a shop but my gut feeling decided to give it another look. I'm using the e clip temporarily until I can try to get a OEM part since this is making me paranoid haha Thanks again!!
Please turn the phone sideways to horizontal Landscape Mode (before you click [Record] please) so the video can fill up our computer screen monitors so we can see all the tiny details instead of the black horse blinders on both sides of the keyhole image. Thank you.
I need a PT3. Main issue was resolved with PT2. Worked but then when I parked after I got back the key kept getting stuck in lock and after that my car wouldn't turnover.
This has been the most frustrating experience of my life! Trying to fix my mothers car that has this issue! I changed the battery...I cleaned the terminals with baking soda and water...I tasted each fuse and relay related under the hood..as well as the one under the steering wheel..I then removed the started and tested it, it’s was totally good..then did what you did in part one and 2..purchased a new neutral safety switch, nada...then I took off center console and junk..and yes it happened to be broken..I haven’t bought the little clamp to hold in place..but I’ve tried staring car while holding the area in place with my hand so it doesn’t pop off..still nada..what the heck do I do next? The only difference on my experience compared to anything I’ve seen online...yes I have the no crank no issue...started out of no where 4 days ago..but each day...when there’s been at least 6-7 hours between me having car on..the car has fired up and driven with no issue..yet as Soon as I turn it off..it will go right back to the no crank no start issue...what could it be?
I watch part one, didnt know theres part two. Part one works for me, but after a few times from on to off, the car wont start again. I tried the neutral reset a few times again but still wont start. When it finally started and tried to drive it, the stick just glides to each gear, and wont changed gear. Im guessing i have to do the part two to fix it. Ill edit this comment again once it works. Thank you
If the shifter cable fell off the shifter stud, the neutral safety switch might be in the wrong position. You only can crank the engine with the switch in neutral or park positions. See his first video to find the neutral safety switch. Ensure both the neutral switch and shifter are in the park position and re-insert the cable. Secure the cable with the 3/8" e-clip that he mentioned or go to ebay for a replacement bushing. Disclaimer: if this is not the problem, it might be blown fuses, bad ignition switch, or bad starter relay but that's a whole different story.
@Pshanko If I remember correctly, he showed the location of the neutral safety switch in part 1. Before replacing an expensive part, I would check if the shifter cable is still on the shifter stud. If the cable is detached, there's your problem. Re-attach the cable and secure it with the e-clip. Ensure that both the neutral switch under the hood is in the neutral position and that the shift lever is also in the neutral position. By the way if you have a helper, tell him to watch the pointer on the neutral switch under the hood while you move the shifter in different positions. If the pointer doesn't move, that means the shift lever cable is the problem. And most likely, the cable came off.
Mine starts (06 Corolla) sometimes and sometimes it doesn’t. Battery is fully charged. The safety is engaging and disengaging (shift lever) But just like your car nothing zero whenever I try to turn on the engine. The lights dim a little and nothing happens justa Humming. Help please
My Toyota Corolla 1.8 Petrol, sometimes starts normally but sometimes when I trying to start, it won't crank and starter just make single click noise. Any Idea whats the exact issue???
@@jrdini77 okay... but if this is battery problem car starter will give continues Clicking sound... but in my case my starter is just gives single click sound.

it may sound like a battery problem we just replaced our battery for the same sound in our sienna van and the corolla

@@lordof_goodness
it could be the battery not having enough power to cycle the starter sometimes the cells go bad or it can also be the starter.
I couldn't catch the name you used 3/8 something.
its e clips
