iOS user here - another great video Matthew. I used to do a lot of timelapse videos a few years back and, having got the bug again, I have been binge watching your videos (and downloaded the free book!). I have downloaded the Skyflow app and will definitely give it a try when over the next coup,e of weeks. I was very interested to see that it can shoot below 1 second - and I really like the effect this can give.
Skyflow is awsome!! It let you save raw files and also work with DJI mobile gimbal so you can have motion controlled timelapses and it even let you set starting focus point and end focus point so you can have a timelapse with focus pulling (not sure it’s the right name for it😂) great app! Thanks for a great video 🙏
Love your timelapse videos dude! on android i use not the native camera, but the google camera that has several options of timelapse it is super useful! and after just sometimes speed up a little bit on cap cut
Matt, great video as always. I have an iPhone 11 Pro. I've played around with the Motion app and it is pretty cool. It has a timelapse mode and offers a lot of control over the camera: interval; lens; 4k resolution; ISO; shutter speed; & white balance. Have a look and keep the videos coming.
@@MatthewVandeputte Hmm, that is strange. I shot some Timelapse's using the app and my iPhone 11 back in November from a building overlooking Central Park in NYC. I was just able to export one at 4k to my MacBook using Airdrop. It dropped into my Downloads folder and when I open in the QuickTime Player it shows a resolution of 3840 × 2160. Was just able to Airdrop a second one at 4k. From the export screen I'm choosing h264, 4k, standard (bitrate), 30 fps.
hello, you mentioned in your video that frames are removed in iPhone time-lapse. Would you recommend a time-lapse recording for jigsaw puzzle assembling? 2nd, would you recommend recording the jigsaw puzzle assembling in time-lapse, or in normal video speed and just saving it at different faster playback speed rates in post-editing?
I took a 1 month timelapse, and it ended up being 21 seconds long, The days literally came by so fast they were flickering by. How do i stop it from going so fast? I’m currently filming another 1 month timelapse during autumn and i need some help with it, i need it to be slower.
well, actually you can set everything that is necessary for time lapse, bin 0.4 seconds interval, motion blur, number of frames and much more. What other app would you recommend? Unfortunately, Rov Motion can only be used in conjunction with the slider.
Hi Matthew, would love to do timelapse on my iPhone 13 Pro Max - hence I am interested in the app you recommend to get more control. I have some solid experience with DSLR timelapse shooting but cityscape timelapses using the iPhone would be wonderful.
@@bizarro659 I just purchased the app, but am disappointed it doesn’t have exposure smoothing :( I assumed it would have it being a specialised Timelapse app, but unfortunately I didn’t check this before so just an FYI

It sounds like a RAM buffer limitation- since we are talking about video TL - It would be a different story if it took individual frames. That is my take on it.
I had this happen years ago on New Year’s Eve. Put my iPod Touch in the window, came back five hours later and 300 minutes were squeezed into a 10-second video. Looked ridiculous.
Get all the tools I mention in the video here: www.matjoez.com/2023/03/22/how-to-shoot-timelapses-on-iphone/
Hi Matthew, thanks, Yes I would be very interested in a video about timelapse apps !

What app other than the iOS app would you recommend?
I'd love to see a video on iPhone time-lapse software.
please share the apps which can be used for shooting time lapse using iphone. i do agree the native app doesn't let you control that much ..
I'm currently testing Skyflow which looks great

Can u please make a video about apps for time lapse😊???
Thanks for the breakdown, good stuff! 3:09
Wamma see your recommends for shooting time-lapse on iPhones, please!
Thanks Matt. Excellent video. I’ve got to give this a whirl. My gimbal would be handy for a timelapse, right?

I can't get high resolution exports from that app sadly! It's capped at something like 1400 pixels

It's great for setting up but export features I just can't get right.
Very useful , thanks
Question. What time lapse app do you recommend? Have you shot time lapse video using edelkrone motion modules? Thanks for responding
I use the built-in mode, does HD only but it's good enough. Blackmagic app I need to test. Haven't used edelkrone yet
