In a more bizarre way there's those timelapses with portraits, similar to plants but you shoot the same person every day over years and it's quite fantastic to watch. Kinda useless, but cool :)
@@MatthewVandeputte I used the Lumix G9 with Panaleica 15mm lens once for the talking head in one of my videos. Normally I record with G7 with MF as I would not trust it on AFC, but the G9 worked very good.
@@MatthewVandeputte Does electronic shutter save your cameras shutter life? I am worried all my timelapses will decrease the life of my camera significantly
How about a timelapse where you follow the moving object with a fixed point. Like a moving boat. Similar to a clip in 0:31s in this vid ruclips.net/video/SM9Np5vFKIU/видео.htmlstart=31
There's a guy that I follow on Instagram who does holy grail hyperlapses. He is from Berlin, Germany. Here is the link to his profile. instagram.com/harryberlin/
I was on a look out for some timelapse ideas and stumbled upon this video. Skip to 0:42 sec and see the barrel roll. Follow the link ruclips.net/video/NB7vp8pBo20/видео.html , Any idea what sorcery is that and how it's done? My guess is that its shot on a gimbal, the motion of the gimbal has been mirrored with the motion of the stars. Its a 360 camera. Hope I am not sounding crazy. But love to have your thoughts. Can we also add a 360 degree video time lapse to your list? That makes it 10
Yea, don't use natural light for plant timelapse. Lost a couple of hours with a macro timelapse of spider-mites on a rose. Clear sky and I thought the sunlight was pretty stable. It isn't.
I actually do these kinds of lapse I call "Time Squeezes" where you film in 60 or 120 fps and then squeeze every frame into 5-30 seconds after filming for an hour or more. Check out my whole 30 minute video of squeezes if you have a spare half hour. Lots of Holy Grail Squeezes as well. ruclips.net/video/he3pSjXRDzg/видео.html
SF to LA in one minute, seeing fingernails growing, a stationary person in a sea of moving people or my favorite, long exposures at night of moving cars. I'd like to see one that locks onto a moving object keeping it in frame while the stationary world and people move by. Like following a bus through the city.
Oh man. Elon fanatics are gonna get triggered. But you're right. Eventually only rich people are gonna be able to see the night sky because Earth is gonna turn into the Deathstar.

what about a tilt shift hyperlapse?
Great content! I do Timelapse videos with my instrumentals behind them! Thanks for the tutorial!
Would you consider extremely long duration time lapses a separate category, such as those documenting construction projects over weeks or even months.
Yup, talking about those in the next video!
cameras don't freeze if put outside for hours? It used to be so with my phone
not if its not freezing haha
Great video as always! One question on the talking head clips. Your eyes are constanly in and out of focus, what camera did you use for this?
It's the Lumix, they really need to work on their video AF! I use it though because it has a better 4K codec than the 1DXII

Hi can you please review the Insta360 for Timelapse thanks.
I have it and decided to give them feedback about the device first so that they can improve the timelapse modes before I review it heh

Heading to Utah for the new moon, gonna try and get my Milkyway right.
Good luck!
The comment about starlink had me laughing. And sad. I do astrophotography, lost many frames to a satellite.
Great video Matt! I’ll be teaching a course at the Boston drone film festival this year on aerial Hyperlapse if anyone is interested.
holy grail hyperlapse or a 360 rotating holygrail, what you think manageable or a step up?
Thanks for the suggestions! I've done neither of those, yet!
Matthew Vandeputte have to give it a go then i guess 😉

Tijd voor nen drone 😁
came here for hyperlapse / motion control lapse :)
Got lots more of that!
Feeling the love for Starlink 🤣. I can’t understand it is allowed to happen.
Glad it's not just me
@@MatthewVandeputte your comment gave me a good laugh. All of the astrophotographers here in New Zealand are worried about it.
I'd say add every other astro shooter globally to the list!

Aaah will add that to the list for sure haha, thanks for the suggestion
Legit Timelapses that failed during recording
As a Elon fan, stop video. NEXT!
