    Quick tip: The time it took him to unlock these skills won’t be the same for you. Some people are stronger in certain things and weaker in others.
    While it took him 6 months to get the handstand, it took me 2 weeks, and while it took him 2 months to unlock the front lever it took me almost a year.
    It took him 3 years to unlock the planche, I have been training it for a few months now and almost able to do straddle planche.
    Some people are stronger at push skills and some people are stronger at pull skills. It depends on the person.

    Don't forget ! The Planche requires a lot of Lower Back Strength, a little bit of Hamstring strength; a lot of Glute and Deep Hip Stabilization Muscles to all be strong enough to perform the Planche. If any of your deep hip flexor muscles are lacking or you've had Hamstring issues or even a groin Injury, you might take longer just to condition very specific hip muscles that are lagging behind. In my case, my Right Side Glute Medius and Piriformis is weak and I get Sciatic Pain whenever I attempt to Planche or even lower down into a Planche from Handstand. I can't progress beyond a slightly APT'd Half-Lay Tuck Planche because any more Hip Extension will cause me too much pain to be able to exert sufficient force. Front Lever is Easy, but even the Back Lever is Painful because I can't do Hip Extension with distal loading.

  • @CalisthenicsJourneyFR
    @CalisthenicsJourneyFR 3 месяца назад

    Daemon i don't think giving people a "number of reps" as a requirement to unlock a skill is good, it can be misleading.
    I'll take your example with the muscle up, people will try to do as many reps as possible to get these requirements, but they probably won't train that important part of the dips or the pullups, the extremities of the range of motion.
    A muscle up is possible if you can push low enough and pull high enough right? so telling people to try to pull as high as possible during pull-ups, and go as low as possible with the dips is the real advice.
    At least that's what unlocked me the muscle-up without really training for it specifically.
    RoM > Number of Reps
