Quick tip: The time it took him to unlock these skills won’t be the same for you. Some people are stronger in certain things and weaker in others. While it took him 6 months to get the handstand, it took me 2 weeks, and while it took him 2 months to unlock the front lever it took me almost a year. It took him 3 years to unlock the planche, I have been training it for a few months now and almost able to do straddle planche. Some people are stronger at push skills and some people are stronger at pull skills. It depends on the person.
Perfect video! I've been struggling with consistency and discipline lately, this is what I needed to see. I'm tryna master my handstand and learn that planche. Looking forward to more content. Thanks Daemon
great video! im a 14 year old who got into calisthenics about half a year ago. as of now i can do around 70 pushups and 15 pullups, my goal is to get the muscle up, and then eventually other skills, such as the planche maybe in a couple od years. your video definitely helped me understand progressing in calisthenics better and i will be using your tips in the future, thank you!
Yes. The problem with growing in calisthenics is that we always need to challenge our muscles to develop them. But please be careful of any injuries. I got a shoulder dislocation a few days ago because of doing muscle-up with not perfect form.
@@TheOutlierToday I'm scared if it happens again... May be the reason my bone pop out is because I raise my arm too high and simultaneously put too much pressure to my shoulder...
I can do maximum 10 clean shoulder width pullups and 10 dips with 25kg added, but I cant do a muscle up even with false grip. Do I need more strength, or just technique?
i am a bit overweight as of now (i have lost a lot of fat previously, i am proud) so should I continue going to the gym and lose some more weight by weight training or should i switch to calisthenics? (i've tried but i guess it's difficult when you're fat)
Hi bro, im 16 years old and i can do a max of 12 pull ups and 20 dips. I've been struggling to unlock the muscle up as I don't understand how to make the c-shape with my body to complete the movement. Any tips?
I have been following you since very long time, your an inspiration man. Respect to your discipline 🙏🏻 achievements you did in Calisthenics. I'd take all your advice, glad i found your channel😊❤
Don't forget ! The Planche requires a lot of Lower Back Strength, a little bit of Hamstring strength; a lot of Glute and Deep Hip Stabilization Muscles to all be strong enough to perform the Planche. If any of your deep hip flexor muscles are lacking or you've had Hamstring issues or even a groin Injury, you might take longer just to condition very specific hip muscles that are lagging behind. In my case, my Right Side Glute Medius and Piriformis is weak and I get Sciatic Pain whenever I attempt to Planche or even lower down into a Planche from Handstand. I can't progress beyond a slightly APT'd Half-Lay Tuck Planche because any more Hip Extension will cause me too much pain to be able to exert sufficient force. Front Lever is Easy, but even the Back Lever is Painful because I can't do Hip Extension with distal loading.
Your channel is so motivating! When I started my fitness journey and came across your channel and it helped me to keep up the progress. Thank you very much!
I've been stuck at a plateau for a couple of months now. I'm still incredibly new to calisthenics, but my reps and muscle haven't grown or increased at all, in fact, the opposite.
Daemon i don't think giving people a "number of reps" as a requirement to unlock a skill is good, it can be misleading. I'll take your example with the muscle up, people will try to do as many reps as possible to get these requirements, but they probably won't train that important part of the dips or the pullups, the extremities of the range of motion. A muscle up is possible if you can push low enough and pull high enough right? so telling people to try to pull as high as possible during pull-ups, and go as low as possible with the dips is the real advice. At least that's what unlocked me the muscle-up without really training for it specifically. RoM > Number of Reps
im 62 kg 5'11 i really want visible abs i have abs on the right side but left side nothing, what excersise can i do? i usually do pushups and pullups sometimes cardio i feel like my stomach is the only place where im not happy with
So im training calisthenics for a year and at first i didnt know what is was doing so i still cant muscle i will say i dont have a pull up bar where i can muscle up on but i will use that technique for specific high pull ups you use for muscle up (so more back when pulling higher and pulling high but more straight) to achieve it in 3 months i can do 7 clean pull ups and 20 dips tho.
Yep. I agree with ur approach on how to train handstands. Also, learning cartwheels, and getting used to overkicking will help with getting out of the handstand when overkicking accidently, so you dont fall and get hurt.
for me the problem is that i don't have the falling reflex for the handstand if i fall i fall and i fall on my back hard and if i can stay on the wall for 4 seconds i don't know i didn't do i for a while i would get impatiant and do it without the wall and fall
